It varies on the size. The fact it's (likely to be) a global singular release date makes everything longer.

We're a pretty small operation and it took about 4 weeks between sending the master build off to the publisher and it arriving in peoples letter boxes/shops. Admittedly we have two publishers, about 11,000 miles from each other, and Sony would have their dept for GT5 centralised. But the sheer logistics of a global singular release is huge. You've then got the time it takes to put the build on to CD's, with the quantity of CD's being burnt, this would probably take a few days in itself, then you've got packing, shipping, etc. Before that you'd have QA (Quality Assurance) on the final build, this is the last hurdle for the actual build before it goes public. QA is self explanatory, a big team of testers, with all various types of tasks set to them, to make sure it's of a quality enough to be sold to the general public. Though it will go through some phases of QA through it's earlier build, they don't tend to be anything like as under scrutiny as the QA of the master build.

GT5 will be near the end of it's completion, easily within a month of it being finished, maybe even sooner.

If the game is on schedule for an early december release then it's probably at the stage where they're doing nothing but translations and bug testing and possibly throwing the odd new car finished in time for the game to go gold in there. That's if it's on schedule for early December, the game hasn't gone gold yet though so it's highly unlikely to be sooner than December like some members have said recently.

If it's like that then they should have pretty much the final build at TGS.. If not then I don't think a Christmas release would be possible or some stuff would be left out to be added on later.

What can advancement mean and what the heck are you hoping for?!:scared::crazy:

I'm hoping they announce improvements to the licence tests.

For example: Once you get your license all well and good, but you can get points for unfair ramming and shortcutting when playing online and too many points will mean having to take the test again, but with a faster target time :nervous:

It has to be Weather or TOD affects that would be the major announcement.
New cars, tracks wouldn't be new news significant to reach the level of major news.
Damage, 3d & Head Tracking are already known. :)

Now, I normally don't make topics based on the news, but TGS deserves its own thread, especially with the news of a "Major Advancement" to be revealed this year at TGS. The beginning of TGS is just about 2 weeks away, and now we are guaranteed to have something worth the wait!

I think we'll get to see that list of features that was allready leaked to be honest.. it was not supposed to come out yet, and that is still not officiall news.

Do you really think a computer company makes a mistake on their own website like that? They wanted people to talk about the game, and it worked.

Lol me too.. I don't think there is going to be anything thats going to shock us. They'll probably have a clearer version of that list.

You think that's the major advancement?:odd: Polyphony knows the entire world saw that list.

Yea, I think Polyphony planned that. How else does a sheet with all the info get released? I think it was pretty smart to do since we've got so little information. I need a new video from TGS.

Yes, the points on the website were clearly meant to be an official written reference/backup/press release/whatever for the information shared in a presentation that was never delivered at Gamescon seeing as the written informaton on it own was rather unclear (even for the Japanese).

Of course it's logical to assume all of the points in that original list will be discussed in a presentation at TGS.

We can only hope that there is even more new information shared on top of that, and that's likely as well seeing as it was mentioned there would be more at TGS.

All we can do now is wait, and not build our hopes too high. Too many people were thoroughly negative after GC.

Maybe they're coming down this list. Damage published, next.. :D

Good post, Timppaq.

Livery Editor- 557 votes? WOOOOW. In a bad way.

Also, I do not believe they went down that list or even entertained it much.

Partial damage, to be precise. Head tracking has only been talked about and not demonstrated.

What does GT5 need a livery editor for? It's not Forza trying to differentiate itself. If you want a livey editor, get a 360 and copy of said game.

I have heard that same response many times here at GTP in regard to GT5 and a livery editor. I think it's sort of a cowardly response and I suggest you find another one. That one's getting old:)

First off, it isn't just me who would like to see it added to GT5. I have many other supporters. I've argued in favor of it many times. The basis of my argument is that GT is a series for those passionate about cars. Many folks would be so content to just collect the cars and modify them. Many, I say. I love GT for the racing but I'd definitely enjoy a livery editor. Nothing like being able to change the color of my car!

LOL, get an Xbox 360? Why not just buy GT5? Also, why wouldn't you just ignore the livery editor?

lol, you're getting mad because other people like me enjoy livery editors and lol that you think PD must be copying Forza when 'livery editor' is mentioned. Get with the program, bud. Many games sport livery editors.

It was a no brainer that it will be there.
Im glad they put it on the list though, so we wont have the "Sony sucks they wont show GT5" threads.

Can't wait for Kaz to get on stage and the moment we have all been waiting for, he'll actually talk about GT5 and not evade questions by being all vague and stuff, he'll actually share REAL GT5 details. That's the best part :D

So here's a question, if a demo is announced, will it be global, or Japan only for the TGS?

Yes I know about making a Japanese PSN account, I'm just curious because I kinda deleted the one I made months ago for the Prologue demo :(

I doubt there will be a demo at all, we got prologue... I guess this is all we'll get until retail.

Yeah, no real need for a demo (well, maybe for those cheapskates not wanting to try out the Prologue ;P). Just throw us some new footage, say when it's gonna hit the stores and GTPlanet will boil 'till red hot. :D

Oh, maybe a free download of Prologue, since it's going to be obsolete with GT5 out? ;)
