So the latest rumour is suggesting Sony will turn around and say "GT5 is released tomorrow" at the TGS?

Well I suppose its possible and reminds me of this thread I posted back in July that was unfortunately locked.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=118381

Have to be honest though I can't see it happening and find the Dec 4th release date much more viable. I bet Turn 10 are hoping these rumours are untrue lol.

And also, in that thread the employee of that shop said they have had the game in the warehouse allready.. which is total BS, because Kazunori still has to decide what cars will have damage, and the game simply not has gone gold yet.

Im sticking with december.

and E3 sony's conferance with "FFVII" will be available on play store right now!!!)

But i don't want to get my hope up...for another disapointement:ouch:

how much would be funny if the major announcement will be limited only in a cover of the game....
PD could do that....:)

however, if the 25 sept release date would be true, at 24 in tgs, they could review themself the game.... how much would be awensome that date....
the best gt series of the world ever...

I still believe it's impossible. Kaz himself said that gt5 will be released shortly AFTER gt psp.

Come on guys, you are smarter than that, KY said GT5 will be release after GTPSP. It`s impossible to release GT5 during TGS. Maybe next week on 2nd Octuber after the PSP version, that would be a bomb, but I doubt it.

Right now I just don`t care about weather, damage or whatever, for me the best announcment PD could do is give us a release date on 2009. I will buy the game anyway, and I am sure a 90% of GTPlanet members will buy it blind.

I want to know what i'm getting in the game really, so would be nice to know the amount of tracks ( maybe mention one or two tracks ) and cars ( ditto for the wheels too ).Tell us how the weather system works & confirm the day & night cycle is a part of it.Mention if the menu system had a complete redesign & show off the online mode.

I'm curious of the car & track list too! I suppose PD knows what cars and tracks there will be in the game by now if they release it this year... so why not make it public?
I hope there are enough new cars in the game btw, unlike GTPSP where they almost all seem to come from GT4..

the problem became after when you will buy the game... cuz you will have care about weather and damage if they missed.

I won't. If they have to exclude damage and weather to get the game out by the end of the year, it won't bother me one bit.

we know, person are never happy, person want always more and more...
but this time gt MUST have something different than older series, and damage and weather condition are the keys to be the Must Game Ever...
damage for race car is the best for me, it give you that sense of longevity in endurance race that you haven't before..

They wont release this game on the same day they announce the releasedate.
It would be impossible to do this, it would get leaked a whole week before the TGS starts.

You know why I reckon we don't get leaks... I bet the people get told that if they leak - then the game will get delayed... and nobody wants that - so they don't leak...

KY did say a while ago when it releases it would be a released as a suprise (few days after annoucing the release) but I frankly just can't believe that would happen.
Because it won't happen, and Kaz didn't say GT5 would be relseased a few days afer being announced, he specifically tied that time scale to game updates and DLC, he said he didn't want to announce updates for GT5:P far in advance, only a few days before the update was available. Then he said he likes suprises and hinted that GT5 could be released sooner than we think. He never said GT5 would be released a few days after being announced though ;). Even if he wanted to do it that way (though I can't see why he would) there's no way he'd be allowed to, it'd damage the games sales.

If GT5 were released before GT Mobile, it would leave GT Mobile in a cloud of dust. GT5 is, without question, much more highly anticipated than its junior counterpart. These next months are critical for the PSP GO so I don't expect GT5 to ruin that.

Therefore, TGS (info galore!)>GT Mobile>Halloween>candy>November>Turkey Day>GT5 release>wet pants>happy everybody!

When game stores leak information, HUGE $$$ fines are in order.:scared:

I really think we should end the idea of the game being released the day of or day after the Tokyo Gaming show. It is simple economics and a little of what I learned in accounting.. In order to maximize sales of a product a company needs to build attention for their product by advertisement. I would say the earliest they could announce its release would be 3 weeks after the tokyo gaming show. That would leave a good amount of time to run commercials and send out promotional posters

Completely agree. Just look at the activity and currently viewing numbers for the GT5 and GTM forums respectively. Right now there are 30 times the number in the GT5 forum.

I agree with wou, the game don't be released at TGS, but, in other hand i disagree, they have the product attention from past 5 years.

Like other member sayd, they olny have to say "GT5 is out", and all we run to the store.

Sorry my english.

yeah they have our attention, but what about others who dont know about gtplanet or that dont have the internet at home?

guys tgs might be another be trailer however the thing with trailers however is that we pick them apart so we speculate over everything we see.

You`re right, but, in the gamers world the GT franchise is well-known.

But, when you`re right... you`re right.

Now I think if they release GT5 in october that would be bad for PD and Sony... We got SCC and Shift is coming out in a few days... with this two games, I and the most people got to do till december or even longer... If GT5 comes in october,I think they can´t sell so much copies as in december... For sure I would buy it but I think then I will get it later...

Look at SCC... I never thought I would buy that game but there was no single racing game on the PS3 since GT5P and so i had no choice and bought SCC... (couldn´t wait till Shift) System 3 did very good with releasing SCC before Shift,GT5 and for some reason FM3...

From a marketing standpoint yes, they should release it after GT PSP to give it some room to sell (KY said so himself that GT5 would be released after it). Most likely december so since the series is quite comfy with that month ;D

From my point of view though, I want GT5 as soon as I can get my hands on it :P

They can't afford that (Sony & PD) since Sony knows GT sells and they want to move hardware because they still sell the Slim at a loss. TGS is the last of the biggest events of the year not to mention they're on their home turf so, there has to be a release date news there or something along those lines. Some would say Tokyo Motor Show but I think Sony really wants to have one of their conference focus on GT to be one of the high points people remember from TGS.

TGS. Will not just be a trailer.
Why make a playable demo at gamescon, while having a trailer at TGS...?

TGS should definitely provide us with another awesome video. And that video should provide us with a lot of details not previously mentioned. I have a feeling that the video will be very revealing and answer many of our questions without Kazunori's need to speak. Though I do believe something should be playable at TGS that will WOW us. You know, like a race where the sun is setting or a race where the skies turn dark black and heavy rain blankets the track.
