to my experience I keep it mega hot on the first run, only issuing overtake and pace up commands, then I see where my driver slips up on consecutive laps and then i write that down on a piece of paper, then I reduce pace there the next run and see if the time improves. rinse, repeat. some spots have to be downpaced every lap, while some only needs downpacing near the end due to tire wear.

Thanks very much for the feedback dude.

Did another 2 hour session on the indy, ended up with a 4:57:838
First in my region but only 5th worldwide, did it with my 39 driver though, so might be room for improvement, was not happy with lap number 2, the timings are so godamn small for the correct command, so pulling off a good run requires such godamn practice.
anyhow, happy with my first place, got .7 on you now GTP_Milan!!!, moving on to the next. :D I love this.

Yay!! Will get on this tonight.. boobs still running one more race to get better spirit for the real races.. :P

Oh Bob, why must thee feather thine throttle when passing on a straight...

All my rankings are between 50 and 200 for the UK, granted all my drivers are below level 20, but I can't see a few extra levels making up somethign like 20 seconds on some tracks.

^^^^
Magic happens around level 35. my 35-40 bobs pull consistent top 10 times on all the tracks for north region so far, but to make it into the worldwide top times you need to fine tune your commands and you need a bob that is engineered for each track. I believe the final time on the indy track will be in the 1:56:xxx range come feb 1st. as for the rest of them there is a possibillity to shave off several seconds on the current leading times.

I'm something like
4th

4th.
I've only done each race once or twice and that was 2 days ago. Have plenty of time to do it.

how long did it take to register cause i sorted that earlier today an im still waiting

I restarted my PS3 and it was registered. so should not take long.

On my region now, third in total time, have to focus on another driver to improve my times I think, so will do some 24h and get back in the TT around jan 5th with 2 new drivers.

this is gonna be the longest January of my life.
Pretty much done with my first 2 bobs making laps, have to train some new ones to improve on my current times I think.
top 5 in the world on all tracks and world leader on track 3 as of now. In my region I am leading all tracks and about 5 seconds ahead of number 2 in total time. worldwide I have the second best total time.
If I make it to the end I hope to meet some fellow GTPers at the driving event in Germany.
Good luck.

Impressive! I am still levelling up my drivers and will have a go at it when they're higher up. Can you share how you did it? For some reason I can't see the total time leaderboard, I can only see the individual ones for each of the races... has anybody experienced this?

there are no scoreboards for total time yet, had to use the calculator for that :P And no, I do not want to share race tactics public :) sorry about that. But a general advice would be to level your people up to 38+, and remember that there are other commands than pace up and overtake, the first lap is always the most important.

It was always worth a shot! Any advice is good and I perfectly understand that as I would do the same if I were in your position, I hope I'm somewhere near come the end of the month! Good luck! Hope to see you in the Nurburgring hehe!

Hey,

I hope the finals will be at Nurburgring. Do you think it'll be kind of what we know from last years Academy?

I think in my region people haven't really started to take the challenge :-( our times are awful...

Regards and always fast times :-)

To be fair, they did give us notice to start levelling up our B-Spec drivers after the launch of the game and a month is plenty of time to level up to the top if you are dedicated enough.

Dedicated enough? Some people have jobs to go to and families to look after. Thats dedication.

This is a joke. The very least they should have done is a combined A and B spec comp. IMO B-spec is a waste of dev. time and disc space.

Basically the people with more time on their hands will win. i.e. The jobless and the rich.

I definitely would not have bought the Signature Edition if I knew the competion was in MNB-Spec. (Mind Numbingly Boring)

I have 2 kids, a wife and a job. and I am not rich. But yes I agree they should have combined a-spec and b-spec, there is a risk there will be 12 people at nurburgring without a clue how to drive a car.
But in my opinion the competition is fair, I do not believe it is random, I think skill and dedication is needed as well as a high level bob.
I am just glad there are competitions at all.
Your oppinions about B-spec are not shared by me, I enjoy the mode and it is rewarding to see effort and strategies resulting in better lap times.

Ok, I can see that was an unfair generalization.Sorry.👍

But see it from my point of view. I heard about the in game competition and assumed a TT. Great. I bought it but now I realise I have no chance of winning because I dont have enough time to level the drivers up. I tried but topbob is only at 18 and he's way off the pace.

I want to enjoy the time I do have for GT5 and I dont enjoy B-Spec at all. Its a constant reminder of how bad the AI is in this game. Braking in full throttle turns and on straights? Its frustrating for me but if others really do enjoy it then I expect its here to stay.

Totally agree, I'm in the same boat, I was furious when I found out. But a TT requires just as much dedication and time to have a chance of winning. Luckily (lol) I actually am jobless so will give it a go even though I'm not going to enjoy it much. The chance to drive a real SLS at the ring and possibly getting one as a gift is incentive enough!

I know what you mean and I would be equally frustrated if I were in your shoes, I was kinda lucky since I was grinding b-spec to get the Toyota 7, wich I have loved for years, and when i was 21 the announcement about the tournament being B-spec appeared so I just stuck with it.
The reason the AI feels so crappy in the sub 30's is to distinguish the AI "skill" over the 1-40 levels, so it is really hard to get into liking it because of the retarded bob moves early on. at 35+ they start driving very well, keeping a good line and semi-normal braking patterns, I only yell at my bob 4-5 times a day now, so he must be driving better.

and the fact that currenly I have half my ass in the actual SLS driving part of the cometition is an incentive to polish the rest of my drivers and do the bob TT's whenever I have time. January is going to be a LONG month though and I bet some smug person will beat me in the last week or something. :P

Hopefully. Me.:sly:

Perhaps I should just stop complaining and do what I can. I dont enjoy it but qualification would be worth the grind, assuming the driving skills tests are not things like operating the sat-nav and setting up comfort functions.:)

Well, I've got one Bob at level 20 and one at 16. I started playing this comp. this afternoon and I think I might win it.

lol. good luck man, once you hit the enduros it is less time consuming and faster. remember to focus one ONE ****ing bob in the enduros, he levels 4 times as fast, as soon as you are bspec 25 you will start leveling faster. the only problem is that it takes up your playstation so you cant race like normal people, and that sucks. wish I had 2 PS3s for the grind :P

and Yeah I hope its racing, I always wanted to die in a racecar.

I've got my Bob on level 30...but I can not reach the top times of the frist track...strange!!! Is there a secret with the orders for the driver???

trial and error. you can proabbaly get 4:58 times with a 30, but I recommend getting a few more levels. and yes, there are secrets.

Care to share any of those secrets ? :).
I', curretly behind you on the local leaderbords on the indianapolis track with a 4:58:xxx time. I'm using a 39 level driver.
So far, I find it extremly frustrating, it seems there is a puzzle of delivering the orders at exactly the right split second, if not the hole race i ruined :grumpy:.

You should be satisfied with that time at the moment, it is pretty close to what I did with my 39 driver. take it to 40 and see what you can do.
I am very reluctant to pass on information to you though as you are a direct competitor. but good luck nevertheless :) and yes it is frustrating and split second delivery indeed. My trick is to count constantly in my head to get the timings, used to do that when I did drumming so it comes natural, might be harder for anyone else though, but worth a shot.
Trial and error and do not be afraid to start all over if your gameplan fails, some times it is good to be behind and catch the draft.
good luck.

Maybe what you need is a different driver for each track (maybe thats the reason for 5 b-spec drivers).
If thats the case it's going to take some serious effort in leveling up the drivers.
If the winner turns out to be norwegian, he would have to pay another £200 000 to get the car registered , that's more than the list prize of the car.
