Damn, now they come out with this? Now??

I'd like to see a link for that! If someone could make that work it'd be a huge win for me and would save me the price of a GT2, in comparison to the price of the adapter of course.

Technically it'd be some trick, it must convince the 360 that it's a Microsoft wheel or something...

No kidding - the real reason I went with the GT2 was so I could finally drive the Carrera GT with 3 pedals and a shifter. The Porsche badge on the wheel was just a bonus - so maybe the GT2 might get to go on eBay afterall

We have received many gamer requests to develop a converter for a G25/G27 racing steering wheel to be used on the Xbox 360™ and Xbox 360 Slim™ console, we are glad to tell you that we have successfully made a converter. The converter is not only compatible with the G25/G27 racing steering wheel but also includes a built-in combo attack memory function for fighting games. You just simply press one button to execute the complicated combo attack with ease. Don't miss your chance to own one!

Went to the site, honestly, I don't think I'd get my hopes up too too high... I have had several of these converters over the years and they're sometimes a hit but usually a miss. I'd be shocked of something like this would be able to handle a FFB wheel with the kind of performance people like us tend to expect.

Don't know how it works but they make good stuff. I got the cross battle adapter to use my 360 controller on my ps3,and it works great ..... They must use magic :)

I like many others want to get the GT2 because of the ability to play games on both the PS3 and the 360. I really hope thy go through with this. :)

Why would you need built in attack-memory for combos in fighting games on an "F1 Converter"? Hahaha, I mean unless it's designed for other games to use a PS3 controller on, otherwise, wtf. Either way if this works then awesome!

you folks are gullable and thick.

if the claim was not bold enough that an adaptor actually exists, ofcourse it comes with programmable dragon punches. just what we all need for forza ffs..

you guys crack me up.. this is an obvious piss take and you all fall for it.. lol lol.. lolmao

Keep laughing buddy, you me be eating those words, and I think we all hope you will be! I'm saying that for all the Xbox users who will hopefully be finally able to use a better wheel, of course.

sure.. i cant wait to see this force feedback wheel adaptor with yoga flames and hadoukens...

im going go play some street fighter iv.. oh wait, has anyone seen my steering wheel? i can play without it .loll olollolollo lolol olo lol ol olo lo ls..

EDIT: i've just looked at the link.. i was under the immpression this was to be an official logitech product.. however, it seems to be some kind of 3rd party hack/mod.. so for this reason, there may be a slim chance of truth.. howver, argument still stands- why would you need (or want) to program a shoryuken to your steering wheel buttons?

anyone here play fighting games with a steering wheel can shed any light?

Seems like you might have cast an eye at the link before berating everyone, yeah?

I mean, I am a documented jackwagon and card carrying moron and even I know to check the link before posting... ;)

I'm assuming the adaptor also lets you plug-in an arcade style 8-button fighter stick. Which is also a usb corded accessory.

Plus for me since I play SF4 as well and have a big arcade stick...but it only works on my PS3. So now I should be able to use it on XB360 as well for fighters.

I'm not going to knock dual functionality...I dunno why everyone else here is. The fighting stick market is probably even bigger than the steering wheel one.

I'm gonna stay skeptical seeing who it's coming from... but sometimes these third-party hackery guys DO manage to make something worthy. I'd have felt better if it happened to be coming from a company I knew a little more about and trusted, but they're few and far between in that field. Anyways, we shall see.

While I think they will come up with a working converter for the wheel. I would be very...very surprised if the FFB actually worked through the converter.

I hope for everyone else it does, but I would be real surprised!

Their XCM Cross Fire converter gets rave reviews all over the place. You can even check amazon if you want to hear from real customer feedback. That's why I think this might be worth it...we'll have to see though.

lol.. nail on head! size 16's on and wade right in..lol.. you gotta admit though- sounds like an april fool..

lets forget the sonic booms for now and talk about ffb..

as abit of a ffb wheel modding savant, i know a thing or 3 about ffb wheels.. from the reasearch i did before building my own belt driven ffb wheel for ps3 and pc use, i know that ffb works differently on x360.

with ps2, ps3, pc and arcade machines, the steering wheels are basically a linear or optical potentiometer for the wheel and a simple DC motor for the ffb which accepts a straight forward pos and neg feed from the console to make the wheel pull in either direction at any given power depending on voltage appiled to simulate any and all ffb effects.

an x360 wheel works very differently. yes, it has the steering pot and the motor, but the way in which the motor accepts is signals is totally different. ffb signals are sent from the console to the steering wheel in codes. a constant stream of codes from the game are decoded by the motors pcb's into a voltage to create a ffb effect. eg, there will be a coded message for pull left/right, a code for rumble, a code for simulate a particular impact etc..

so when we understand this.. we know understand why the wheels are not cross compatible with pc, ps3 and x360 - its not just a case of microsoft being tight and not wanting you to use your g27 on your 360, its because they actualy couldn't work!, the g25/27 does not have the phsycial hardware on board to let it work!

so this yoga teleport adaptor is going to have to decode and convert the ffb packets from the x360 game and send the signals to the logitech wheel, without any lag it would be a great bit of kit. and lets not forget the spinning piledriver function..

Is this PCB/chip what the Fanatec wheel uses to decode this data? Is it possible these guys either paid for the MS decoder or did some Chinese wangchung on one and reverese engineered it and this is what they are using to read the input signals from the 360?

That would just leave them with the need for a fast enough signal relay mechanism to send the G25/27 some good old fashoin signals.

Right?

yes.. it is perfectly feasible..

it was the hurricane kick storage function (and me assuming it was an official product)that made it sound far fetched.

it does sound possible. it certainly would be a great tool for g25/27 and 360 owners..

That's good news...since the Fanatec option just got pushed back to May on new orders.

Unfortunate timing for Fanatec to run out of inventory.

The T500rs was its only real competition but now the GT2 isn't the only option on 360 I can see people opting into a G27 and this adapter so they can play sooner.
