Qualifying Process
Determining who gets in to race will not be decided through a 'first-come-first-serve'
basis. Entrants must submit a Time Trial lap on every track we will race on. Rules below.

Super Lap Qualifying (Under Re-Construction)

________________________________________ ______________________________________

Setting Grid Positions on Race Day
We will set the grid by running a formation/parade lap. After the race countdown reaches zero,
you must Hold your positions! Remember your spot in the qualifying; as well as the person in-front of you
and behind you. Follow the steps below!
  • Remember your Grid Spot!
  • Do not move when race countdown reaches zero!
  • GT500 and GT300 will start as separate packs
  • When the countdown reaches zero, the GT500 Pole Sitter will drive upfront to lead his class
  • Rest of GT500 cars must follow based on the qualifying results
  • GT300 Pole Sitter will then follow behind the GT500 pack
  • Rest of GT300 cars must follow based on the qualifying results
  • The start will be double file (two rows)
  • Both Pole Sitters will always start at the Inside Lane relative to Turn 1
  • The GT500 pole sitter will dictate the green flag a few hundred feet before the start finish line
  • No passing before the start finish line or you will be penalized!

Top 7 Speeds - GT300

Division 2
8 - 14 Speeds - GT500
8 - 14 Speeds - GT300

Divisioon 1 and 2 will be hosted in the open lobbies. Qualified drivers will be sent a
invited to access the room. Until further notice, only Masi_23 (GTP_Masicampo) will host the
races, otherwise, both races can be held simultaneously with 2 hosts. Volunteers, welcome.

Any driver who pulls out from Division 1 race will be replaced by someone from Division 2. Cut
off for replacements will be 2 hours before actual race time. Anyone who pulls out further down
the speed chart (Division 2) will be replaced by someone from the waiting list. Otherwise, if any
Division 1 race was held without a full grid, official results from Division 2 will move up depending
on the number of empty spots in Division 1.

Note
A replay of the whole race will be saved and reviewed by race stewards!

RACE CONDUCT
Season Start (TBA)

Driver's Reputation

Every week, drivers will be awarded or deducted points depending on their race conduct (Points will vary).
This Rep system will be a good way of telling who's clean or dirty and who's patient or aggressive.

Points: (TBA)
________________________________________ _______________________________________

Penalty System (under construction)

Stewards have the power to impose various penalties on a driver if he commits an offence during a race.
Offences include jumping the start, causing an avoidable accident, unfairly blocking another driver, impeding
another driver when being lapped, or gaining an advantage by leaving the track.

Penalty: 25 seconds will be added to driver's total race time, which may drop him considerably in the final
race standings.

In extreme cases the stewards may choose to enforce tougher penalties. They can drop a driver any number
of grid positions at the next Race (so, for example, even if the driver in question goes on to qualify on pole,
a five-place penalty would drop him to 6th). They can also impose time penalties, reprimand a driver, exclude
him from the results, or suspend him from the next race.

Standard (ORL Rules) apply.

Well here i go. A few laps on Nurburgring GP/F in practice session on Soft race tyres for qualifying tests got me 01'59.575 so far.

You guys wanna stick to Friday? I'm not sure i can do Saturdays... i mean i could host, but ill probably miss most of the races since i have
to tend most of my attention to family at home. Same goes to Sundays. Should we set next week to friday or saturday? Same time...

Damn, that was a tough and frustrating race for me.

I lost 1 position right off the bat as I was slow on the throttle, but took it back around turn 2.

Then on the 2nd lap I braked as usual for corkscrew but the 3 cars battling ahead braked earlier, and I hit gave Pagina a lovetap; for him it was fine but for me I knocked my steering out of alignment.

I couldn't drive around it with a pad, so I had to pit on Lap 2. Then I was pushing hard, and overtook XsApollo when he made his mistake, then I spun at turn 3 and lost my hard work.

Pushed hard till Lap 18, then pitted again. I made some good laps after I exited the pits and warmed the tyres, all laps nicely in the very low 1:24s. I think I was one of the quickest on the circuit at that point - but then I had clean track and only GT300 traffic to deal with, and no battling.

Then, on Lap 28, lost it out of Turn 8 and hit the tyre barrier - another damaged steering - back into the pits again ><.

Chased Moieman down in the closing laps to make sure that no GT300 car finished in front of GT500s :P.

Consistency over a whole race is just so hard to maintain.

Props to Sincx especially who was in the sister NSX but was much much faster, and to Sigma for the great fight and the win.

Sorry but no race report this time - I don't have time :(

I think I'm going to put my hat into the ring on this one. Looks like a lot of fun was had by most. I guess I can see where I measure up with you guys. So all I have to do is run the track and post a video of my best time right? No tuning or tires or upgrades right?

Soft tyres for qualifying, hards are used for the race. You can tune your cars settings i.e. downforce, transmission, LSD, etc. No adding turbo's, engine mods etc.

Make sense?

Yep, got it. Is everyone using cockpit view or it's whatever?

I use the bumper view as cockpit view makes me motion sick for some reason, not sure what everyone else does. I wish I could cockpit view as it makes the race look/feel so much better.

I wish we could have restrictions to lock the camera view... but i would think peripheral vision would be a problem without a hot key for looking around (side to side).

iRacing seems to do it well... well, they have a spotter system, i guess that helps a ton.

Hah! At least you recovered and took home the GT500 pride ;)

It would be nice to have everyone make their own little review of the race, like you just did, so everyone can get an idea how the race went on in different points of view :)

Here's my recap as best as I can remember, the laps went quickly for me due to trying to stay concentrated on what was going on around me:

I ran in D2 GT300 and had the pole for my division. Got a good start but perhaps jumped the throttle a bit and had to back off the throttle to avoid the GT500 in front of me so kamakazie (sp?) got around me in T1 on the outside. I took the spot back later in the lap when he made a slight mistake.

I held on to the spot for 7-9 laps I think but my phone rang and made the mistake of looking at who it was and crashed which means I had to pit way too early to fix my damaged car. I ended up falling back to third and was able to stay there for the rest of the race despite having to pit twice more due to pushing to hard to make up lost time.

The one spot I didn't have any trouble with during practice was after turn 10 and I lost it there twice today, I guess it could have been due to tire wear.

I would say that after losing the lead the race was pretty tame for me, after the 2nd pit stop there was no way I could get back all the time I lost so I was just keeping my position to finish 3rd.

I'm amazed how clean everyone does race especially after another race I was in tonight after this one where people forgot how to use their brakes.

Looking forward to starting practice for next week!

Nice recap takl23. I guess I wont be neck and neck with you. lol

Just to let you guys know I'm running with a Fanatec and a homemade rig. Don't know if it makes a difference or not but just letting you all know.

DSC02079.jpg

Thanks! Nice rig! What did you build it out of and where did you put the shifter? I pretty sure I'm going with a fanatec wheel soon so any thoughts you can share would be great!

Fanatec wheels are great. You can't go wrong. I got the one that works with both platforms. Like sent from heaven. Clubsport pedals are fantastic. Love them. Waiting for the clubsport shifter this year.

In that pic I don't have the shifter installed but it comes with two rods that go through the wheel that you put through the shifter on the side. That's how I have it currently but I will be trying to install it by the seat cushion in the near future for a more stable position.

I built it out of an old weightlifting bench I had and an old office chair. Me and my Dremel became close friends. lol. The only thoughts I can really relay is to make sure whatever you come up with is very stable for the wheel and brakes (and shifter if you choose). Wheel stability is crucial and actually can shed time off your laps even if you think everything is ok with what you got. I thought I was fine with my old rig which had some give in the steering wheel but my times actually got alot better when I built this.

Yes definitely! The battle with african was been epic!!! Clean anytime! I have to improve my concentration for all the race..but are the first pro/race for me and I'm happy! Thx to Masi and Monoha for hosting D2 :) Really a great challenge ! 👍

Was to late to be able to reply to the thread since its closed already :)

@ Sigma, was a great race indeed ! Respect on how patient you where all the time, there was a few moments I was sure you would put your car on the inside etc. but you didn't and just waited for a mistake.
I made 1 before the pitstop and you came passed and I just followed again. Then decided to pit earlier and do a fast lap after and it worked !

When you came out of the pit I had the lead again by...0.5 seconds.

All the time I was struggling to do fast laps as the NSX was a handfull to drive on the limit as you saw lol.
The setup wasn't superb but the best I could make in terms of laptimes, so much understeer after a few laps and the tyres fell off rather quick.
I tried to compensate with really soft suspension settings but ye. Was under the impression you car was much easier to drive but on the straights it seemed slower.
I drove defensive most of the time which wasn't helping tyre wear neither lol but it worked as there was no real gap you could dive in to.

The little tap we had in lap 28 I think caused my right rear suspension to get knackered and I needed to countersteer all the time to keep it straight lol.
I knew you had to have damage as well but seemed it troubled you a bit less and made your way passed when I nearly lossed it then.

After that I knew race was done and we finsihed as we did.
Good race under pressure, enjoyed it. Lapping of GT300 cars was good as well, no problems so godo job on letting gt500 cars lap.

Hope on this coming event I can set the NSX up a bit better and will also try out a Nissan to see if those are easier to setup and most off all if they stay good on the tyres.

Really great race guys

Awesome fun, defiantly worth the build up.

@ Sincx, that was a mega impressive performance mate. My GT-R wasn't actually faster, I noticed that it was slower in a straight line out of slipstream, that said it is much easier to drive than the NSX, which meant my tyres were still in good condition at the end of the race, which is why it was much quicker at the end.

Very impressive driving under pressure, you made no major mistakes, and that NSX looked tricky to drive, shame it started to fall away at the end, could have been a nail biting last lap.

Well my race in the GT 300 D2 was a lot more boring. :sly:

I started from second but managed to overtake sallyk on turn 1 on the outside.

But after that i made a mistake and spun the wheels a little and then sallyk was gone, and i have to defend from batey in the next turn.

After that i tryed to follow sallyk but wasn't to confident on the car, so i was a little catious.

Thanks to his phone i regain the lead :dopey: and was followed by ffocus.

I was wathcing the track map to see when he pitted so i could pit next lap. but the GT 500 were in the middle and i lost perception wich car was his. I pitted then at lap 20, so i had 10 laps to abuse the tires. :sly:
In my first stint i was making 1:31s high, but in the second one i made low 30s and even high 29s(lol, i wish, my better was a 30 :sly: ), so i can say my second set of tires was really better.

Kind of a lonely race for me. Guess i have to make it to D1.

Forgot to mention that i pitted in the right time, because the GT 500 laped me while i was in pit so no time lost leaving them go through.

Personally fridays isn't so good for me because of parties and going out, rather it was sundays or a weekday. This question made me wonder how old our race drivers are.. hehe :-)

Sorry I didn't make it! Been really tired for the last day or two and was watching TV to kill time before the race, fell asleep at around 9 and didn't wake up until both races were all finished! :(

Was hoping to have a good race with Kamykaze and Sally too!
I was getting 29s-30s in a practice session I had a little after some tweaking so could have been close!

Challenging race at Laguna.

I never found a good tune and the car was difficult to drive. In free run I laped in the 1.23 but in the race I couldn't get a single 1.23. Clearly lacked race pace.

Apollo chased me in the the first laps. Overtook me once, but I managed to regain my position. On lap 4 he very lightly touched my rear and one rear tire turned red. Suprisingly it didn't seem to change the handling of the car so I drove on. Apollo spun and Paginas took over putting pressure on me. He was very patient :) and when after 3 laps (lap 10) of pushing he made an ovetaking move and I didn't drive defensive but let him past. In the following breaking zon up the hill I breaked earlier than normal but still hit his side. I'm very glad he didn't get any damage but I did and had to pit on lap 10.

Decided to make the remaining 21 laps on one set. In the end the right rear had almost nothing left on the display and it was difficult to stay on the track. It took me three laps to lap Masi, who did everything you can possibly do to let me pass, but I was carefull not to damage his car with mine so difficult to control.

I tried the GT-R and I think it was the better race car for Laguna, but I could not get to Sigmas lap times. Impressive drive and contratulations to the win.
