Nope, you aren't limited on duplicate cars meaning there can be more then one of the same kind, its just kind of boring. I have no problem with two of the same thing but three or more of them is a bit too much and 6 of them is just insane.

Well that covers the low budget crowd so far, now for or two big spenders to chime in. ;)

Test Track

Welcome to the Sunday Cup Racing League Invitational. I'm glad you all made it here with your cars. With this first season getting underway, here is what we have in store for you for the next week. We have secured a week on a test track with an official Seiko Timer to record each entrants times. We have three events on the test track and all results will be posted so everyone in the league can see the results. This should give you and your competitors an idea of what each vehicle is capable of and possible needs that need to be addressed in the future. The league will provide work areas in the pits at each track and access to water for washing your vehicles. You have all come up with the entry fees and proven that you can travel to each event and have made your hotel reservations in advance. Your entry fees also cover Sports Medium (S2) tire supply and replacement. Vehicle transport to each event will be covered by the league either by rail, transporter or by ship. We also have a list of parts suppliers in each area and car dealers if you need them. The league has plenty of pre-made 1kg/5kg/10kg/50kg/100kg ballast weights for the entire season. So feel free to use them, especially those of you with front wheel drives.

So get out there and make good use of the test track, as this is the only time you will see it this season. Its going to be a busy week, but next week it will be even busier as the season begins with the First Circuit.

7) To drive a course will you use the Family Cup with the Difficulty set on "0". This will put traffic in your way. All tracks will be driven in the Normal direction.

Did you really mean to put "Third circuit" for each of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th weeks?

Difficulty of 0 should put half of the traffic behind you by the first corner if you get a good launch. Perhaps this should increase every other round so that by week 10 the difficulty is at 5?

Anyway, count me in. I might not stick with it to the end, but it's easier to drop out half way through than to join up then!

Yes I did cause there are a lot of tracks in the 2 to 4 mile range.

1st Circuit = Tracks less then 1 mile.
2nd Circuit = Tracks between 1 mile and 2 miles.
3rd Circuit = Tracks between 2 miles and 4 miles.
Endurance = Tracks over 4 miles.

The Bots will vary by track and scale to your car, you will not always get a good start and get past them. If you adjust it to much for some they will always be in front and no obstruction at all. I have no problem increasing the difficulty for the championship rounds but lets get some feed back from the 2nd Week first.

As you can see by the Financial Statements I have your budget posted.

** Help Wanted **
(Question to Sunday Cup Drivers)

Looking for a role playing support person to be the any of the following:
commentator
sports writer
handi-capper/bookie.

Something for color to forshadow a week of racing or recap a week gone by done in character.

Would any of you know anyone who would like to do such a thing?

Sorry to interrupt, but what tires are you guys using? Medium Sports? Or something else? And are you guys all using driving aids or no? I'm only asking because I'm not seeing any rules on these items.

That's my reference, ha ha. Since I'm not part of the races, I can stay objective or whatever.

Your Hired!

We will be racing on Sports Medium (S2) tires as mentioned in the 1st Week brief. Its not a rule item, as eventually people will buy what they want. Driving Aids are up to the individual driver and their car.

As a Sports Writer either use your online name or a made up character name and well, cover the season, chime in when you want with a breaking news report. Post in character at all times when doing the sports writer bit. You could even make up your own TV station or network or something or magazine or paper or interent blog what ever, have fun with it.

P.S. I'm on 56K so IM is out or has been for the last couple of years stupid software making things unusable. I don't have a clue what a PSN account is. So feel free to email dcms_bh21@hotmail.com if nothing else works.

Cool. :)👍 I'm be PMing you a bit for awhile if I have Q's, just to keep this thread clutter-free. Hope you don't mind, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I'll try to keep in mind you're not a premium member, so I'll try not to send repeat PMs and stuff...I'll also give you my IM info and my PSN accounts are listed below.

6500cr - not quite enough for the car I wanted - but this is close enough...

Car: Nissan Silvia Q's (S13) '91
Drive Train: FR
HP: 127hp -> 140hp
Price: 5,673cr + 50cr oil change
Oil Change (Y/N): Y

...and the results for the first week are;

0-400m Run (Acceleration Test)___17.099
0-1000m Run (Transmission Test)__30.839
Max Top Speed Challenge_________139.39mph

Hmm, maybe not quite as competitive as I thought. Hopefully it'll do better when we introduce some corners.

Of course "power and speed" isn't the specialty of the AE86...

Edit: I think putting what car you have in your results post is a good idea, going back to reference what people bought is... laborious.

I will be updating the particular week post/brief we are in with relavent info, the financial statement should be updated and verified. Skython11 needs to fix his car purchase post to be more specific. I also added the ranking of the Test Track results which should give our media represenative something to make hay of. While I'm at it I'm going to put up the outside budget roll so you all can plan your purchases and even possibly make some before sunday.

I fixed up my post

I looked at some of the times, and it should teach me for being a tight-arse

0-400m: 0.16.835
0-1000m: 29.937
0-top speed test: 229.81 KM/H (142.80 MP/H)

And as an extra, 0-60 MP/H/KM/H: 9.9 seconds

Driver: Shotamagee
Car: Mazda MX-5 '89

0-400m: 17.677
0-1000m: 31.994
Top Speed: 132.10 mph

Dead last in all 3. Hopefully the MX-5 will start to do better when corners are thrown at it.

** Driver Info - Media Info **

Ok it is now officially the Intial Purchase Phase if anyone choses to do so, you have to list what you bought and how much it cost. I will record it for each car and driver. Future purchase phases will occur at the beginnig of a week after I post the weekly cash roll on Sunday which has already occured for this weeks.

GrumpEone is trying a new banner on us, I like it so I updated all the areas that it is used. All Sunday Cup banners will denote information areas. The finished information like the Test results and a master seasonal points roster have been added to a news section on the first page for easy reference. Each circuit has its own points total that culminates in its championship and we start from 0 on the next circuit. I still haven't decided to do this on the Endurance section or use the full seasons points total. Anyways, check the first page for general news and the most recent Sunday Cup banner for current happenings.

Occasionally these small posts will necessary, but should dimmish once regular racing starts.

Purchase
Weight Reduction: Stage 1
Price: 1,000 CR

After looking at my bank statement I decided to take the plunge before the season opened to start stripping excess weight from my Honda CR-X. In all, a useful endeavor and before long I had car parts spread all over the pit area and my bank balance had dropped by 1,000 CR. When finished it was time to give it a good washing for the coming week in the First Circuit.

This is a great idea BH-21. I want to join, but as you posted, it's invitation only, and I can't commit. and having phased out of GT4 recently doesn't help.

But this is a very, very nice champoinship!!!

A few quick questions...

1.) Is the initial Testing phase going to be for Points as the rest of the weeks? Or is it just Testing; because I was wondering if I should plan on some Prize Credits, to be able to buy a small upgrades, such as a Weight Reduction or flywheel.

15) A family cup event should be driven in the spirit of a race keeping two wheels on the track at all times and minimizing collisions with the bot cars.

16) Selling Cars and the parts on the will be at 25% of the original purchase price and once fitted the parts go with the car. This is the same rate at which GT4 does it but not with as many decimal places.

2.) Are all races going to be family cup 2 laps Setting=0?

3.) (referenced rule 15) Is a little racing rubbing allowed, minor bumping for position? And two tires on the track at all times, does this include going airborne at the top of a hill?

4.) (referenced rule 16) Is selling parts only in the case of upgrading to the next part, example : If I had a 1,550 CR, SP Exhaust installed and I upgraded to the 2,850 CR, SR Exhaust would I get 387 CR back (1/4 the price omitting decimals) for selling the SP Exhaust? Or is the 1/4 value only for selling the car?

I feel like we're the paparazzi, asking BH all these questions! Haha

Could you put a 'current money' dialogue on the first post for us?

And am I correct in assuming my money is cumulative, IE I can take a save this round?

In any case, I just went ahead and got Weight Reduction Stage 1 for 1000cr, since all the power adders are so expensive.

1) The Testing was just that Testing for you the driver and the competition to scope out each other and the media to harp on. No points for it at all.

2) Yes, unless its warranted a to change it which may occur in the 2nd Circuit and especially if a driver buys a Nitrous System.

3) Well it is the spirit of the thing, but also a practical reason. Its a long season and I doubt anyone is going to be able to afford a Refresher Plan anytime soon at 50,000 CR. The more you crash, collide the more unstable your car is going to be by the end of the season. It may be so bad by Nurburgring you can't steer it. As for going airborne on a hill, that is ok as long as your still over the track, its not like I can really enforce this, but the intent is to prevent using the track to fly over sections or cut corners.

4) The selling of the parts goes totally with the car being sold, because you can't remove them in GT4 itself. So once you buy a part your stuck with it tell you unload that car then the total price of the car and parts I have listed will be calculated at the 25% rate for the whole lot.

And am I correct in assuming my money is cumulative, IE I can take a save this round?

1) Problem with putting the financial statement on the front page is how it changes with each week and how its structured. It will always be posted at the last Sunday Cup Banner and shouldn't be to hard to remember what page that is. The next one comes Sunday Morning. Either way I will work on it.

2) Yes the bank balance is cumlative or we would not ever be able to afford anything. So saving is perfectly fine your the one who determines how it is managed.

I'm writing up some good stuff, guys! Already have several paragraphs! I'll probably start a different thread when I'm ready to post it up, it'll be up by Sunday I promise! :D

Nice Parnelli Bone! It looks to be a good season for racing.

P.S. For those with free time issues and who don't plan on buying anything for their car yet could get a head start on running the First Circuit. All of the info you need is on the first page of this thread. Plus you will have a full week to run it after I start it on Sunday, so you can fit it into your schedule best. Just hold off on any posts about it till have I actually started the First Circuit on Sunday.
