Wallbanger's Ring Masters Challenge (7/21/11, new challenge 10/17/11)

I'm pretty much out of this challenge...I cannot physically beat 7:50 in any of my cars, and the penalty system is going to make me scream very very soon. Maybe I'll return, maybe not, but I really am not a good enough driver for this challenge. Sorry to dissapoint everyone

Well the good news Dragonthing is that this is an open ended challenge meaning that until either everyone loses interest in trying to beat the challenges presented here, the Moderators decide to lock it for some reason or ole Harvey Wallbanger here drops dead you can keep coming back to try your hopefully improving skills. No need to rush as this is supposed to be fun. If its not fun give it a break and try again another day.

P.S. to be honest I seriously doubt I could beat either of my challenge times or even come close. You saw my time in the Copen I posted earlier.:sly::lol:

My problem is my cars. The Copen has the most power but lacks the ability to use it, the Cappucino is the lightest and is astonishingly quick but just can't do fast, the Cervo has the most insane handling I have ever witnessed, like a mini X2010, but again can't do fast, and the OFC-1 still understeers like a biatch. And I just don't like the AZ-1, it looks...wrong. Plus my last AZ-1 was a floaty piece of poo >_<

I may try thr FF challenge though, I think I can beat the 7:00 mark easily in a few of my cars

I really don't want to have to move to one of the FF Keis, but yeah, the Cappy just won't cut it, at least not with me behind the wrenches and wheel. It's a lot of fun though, which I tend to value more these days since I've lost pace compared to the aliens out there from GT2 and GT3 times...

I tuned a handful of other cars, so I'll be taking them out during the week to see what they can manage. One hit 158 BHP, which I assume will overcome it's weight penalty on such a power-favouring track.

The Daihatsus (both the Cuore/Mira TR-XX and the Copen Active Top) have an advantage with their 4 cylinder engines they can get up to around 200 HP and create a lot of torque to get them moving. Add in the very light weight for the Cuore/Mira TR-XX and their hard to compete with.
 
Oh, and also, I'd like to sponsor the challenges too :D would it be fair to offer the birthday ticket of their choice to winners? And this is, ofcourse, if I get a little 'sponsored by' banner ^_^
 
Awesome idea Desperado!! 👍👍 I'll go for both categories. Just one question, do you run it offline (like acsr has with his arcade mode run) or can it be done online in your lounge for example??

Unless there is a significant advantage in time one way or the other it doesn't matter. Just get a picture and post it when you have a winning green lap.

Well then maybe I have an idea...Since I have a few classics floating around, how about a pre-1970's challenge? I'll have a drive of a few of my cars and then subtract maybe half an hour per lap ;) work out a good PP limit and get back to you...
 
Well&#8230;a triumph Spitfire tops out at 502PP, so cap it around 510-550PP. And dragon, there's just one more thing you need to factor in, just answer this question, you'll know what it is:
In what year was the Ford GT40, Lamborghini Contach, Dodge Challenger R/T, Ferrari P4 and Jaguar XJ13 made?

I will begin this evening after work. I don't think there is anyway for me to upload a picture to this site since I do everything from my phone. Maybe my brother can do it, he's my computer nerd business partner. I'll post my times Monday probably. Lots of work this weekend( but no traveling! Thank god.)

Upload your pictures to Photobucket from your phone. It's free and you can easily copy the html code it provides onto a post here and add the

Another option for the technically challenged is to send me the photo as an email attachment to rook67@live.com put Ring Master in the header and include your GTPlanet ID in the body of the email. I'll upload and post the photos here.

Oh and sin cell phone is no excuse as that's what I run all of this on!:D:crazy: But its all good.
Besides Rangers lead the way...Huah!

HUAH!!! I know it's not a GOOD excuse but it is MY excuse to be lazy. Lol. And the "little kid" comment was a movie quote. The email thing seems more reasonable for my lazy a** . expect some mail.

Try almost 11 years and yep its definitely a movie from after my times:lol:

These are my own tunes.

Then I applied Dragon´s Copen tune to my Copen and tried to catch my Copen Ghost.
Didn´t happen because Dragon´s gearsettings were a bit too short and the car doesn´t liked the slow corners. :(
