I mainly run at Daytona and have a garage full of unused cars. The PDA motivated me to give the new seasonal events a try. It was fun trying cars that I have never driven. I used a stock Prius at Cape Ring and ended up finishing 3rd but still made over 800,000. The Spoon CR-Z made easy work of the competition and still ended up paying over 1 million credits. I hope to give JK-83's Prius setup a try as soon as I have a chance :).

Won $1,933,313 for first place at Cape Ring, using the Prius but at 350pp.
Of course I had too much money in the bank already so need to spend 5 or 10 $million before trying again.
Boring car to drive.

That 350 PP may have been wrong as I won it again at 300 PP (by 6 seconds) and only received another $1.9+ Million.
Will drop it down and try again.

WOW you guys did some seriously insane math to figure this out... Sorry I just saw this. What I did to figure out the % increase was it says 400pp = double the credits.

430-400 = 30
200/30 = 6.66666repeating.

Figure nothing uses much after the hundredths place and chop it off there. Pretty accurate and took about 3 seconds.

Never does any harm to check, rather than relying on approximate numbers given by PD...

Highest prize for me was 1.1million on cape ring..
But then I finish the rest in a 430PP Integra RM, don't really care about the PDA anymore though.. if I want quick money I just run the 650PP A spec-4.

Did any of you guys won the first race with a car below 380pp? I'm not even close, best I can do is 5th, 380pp March '07 was really tough but I did it :D

Hello GT5 community!!
The first thing: sorry for my english...
The second question: with this specifications (305PP Polo @ Cape Ring); ¿where can I run? In A-Spec,B-Spec or online? I don´t wanna play online, only offline and win all this money and EXP.
Please, I need an answer.
Thanks all.

Can't get this much money as quickly as seasonals!

You gotta have your PS3 hooked up to the internet and log into your PSN account. Otherwise you can't race the seasonals. If you're online, you'll see a seasonal challenge icon in your "My GT World" screen.:)

@ everyone else:
Since I won so easily on the kart track with a car well below the max PP limit, I wonder if these seasonals are easier than the previous ones. With the previous ones I had to take a car close to the PP limit otherwise I couldn't win (don't like racing on go-kart tracks with "normal" cars anyway). So what do you guys think?

And at all these people saying these seasonals are so much better, in what way have they been changed? With the previous ones you could also select cars that were way below the PP limit, so you could get close racing with those too. I know that I did, always selected cars that were (much) worse than the opposition, well, apart from the go-kart tracks, hehe. The only thing that has been changed is the pay-out, which is just a minor thing really. For me these seasonals are just as good as the previous ones.:)

Well I'm grinded Capering and got over 2,2 mil cr in 10mins 30 secs...
So how fast you get same money on 650pp?

Thanks for the answer.
I can´t use Internet because I have the PS3 with CFW and I use backups of my games.
If I connect PS3 to Internet I lose my firmware (3.55 Kmeaw)
The last patch I have of GT5 is 1.09.
I have lvl. 40 in B-Spec and 26 in A-Spec (I have to do endurance races) but I want win more EXP and credits to buy some cars (Mazda 787b...I love this car,but it costs 5M...)
Some way of win a lot of EXP and Cr?

pretty close, mostly around 6 mins 10 secs per 1 million.
but the track is more important, I enjoy driving at nurburgring than cape ring

Come back when you have actually paid for the game then. 👎

And if you have paid for the game, then apologies but that's the price you pay for using CFW.

Been having fun earning 1.4million Cr on Cape Ring with the Premium Peugeot 307 - max ballast, drive train, suspension, tranny, no oil change - 340pp. Puts in 2.02min laps.

Cape Ring is perfect for heroic actions :D really fun.
In my first attempts I has a hard time in daytona until I has found my old Prelude...

This seasonals are very good, and I love too the tire restriction.

The quickest car will do around 5:45min on the 650pp 'ring event

The Cape ring race will be more efficient way to earn fast money, it just doesnt feel as fast :D

Tried the Eifel track, finished 2nd about 8sec behind. Was 25+sec behind for half the race. Feels like I'm chasing the mclaren in a 650pp race

All backups I play in CFW are made from my original PS3 games...

Just started with the Prius, here is my second win:

Easy win with batteries left.
I charged the batteries on all the downhill sections and the last third of the main straight.

I would recommend people to not tune their engines too much, as a flat power curve is pointless with the constant 5000 rpm of the prius.
You are basically spending pp on a flat powercurve that you don't need.

I will update as my pp goes down (273 atm).

Some food for thought:

Running 8:00 on the Eifel track, in a 340PP car nets the same Credits per Minute, as running 10:30 in a 290PP car around Cape Ring.

For those of us who may find it hard getting a Prius to place first at 290PP, you may find the Eifel track easier, for the same payout. I ran a 340PP Celica SSII and won easily. You could probably get it below 340PP for an even better payout, depending on your skill level.

I can't get past 2nd place on Eifel no matter what car/setup, can't find the extra 6sec to get to first.

nvm...finally luck sided with me and I overtook the lead guy on lap 6, then finished 5sec ahead

Could somebody please explain how the Prius works or post a link to how it works? I have no idea how to charge the battery. I tried using the Prius G from the dealership with JK83's setup but I lost at least 15 mph in the latter stages of the race. Also, is that the same car as the Prius G Touring Selection (J) that everyone is using?

The Prius uses regenerative braking - that is, when the car is slowing the wheels are used as generators to charge the battery.

Whenever you brake or coast, the battery is recharged slightly. Whenever you accelerate, the battery is used to provide power. The charging diagram will show this - when the lines go from the wheel to the battery (braking or coasting), the battery is being charged. When the lines go from the battery to the wheel (accelerating or at rest), the battery is being depleted.
