The “Golden Rule” of Motorsports
“It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free.”

Rules

You are expected to follow The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

Policies

It is the policy of this league (except Division X) for you to hold your position in turn 1 and not try to improve it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. Division X drivers must observe this policy for as long as we are having mixed division races. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. Furthermore, it is inappropriate to take advantage of other drivers doing their part to keep turn 1 incident free.

Attention!

There was far too much contact in the last race at Cape Ring. This is a non-contact sport. Let me put it another way, if you are "rubbin", you ain't racing in this league! You are not going to win the race on the 1st lap or the 1st corner. We will not tolerate individual drivers taking the fun out of racing for everyone.

First Turn

The first turn on this track is extremely tight so be sure to hold your position through it. Other drivers may draft past you before the approach to the turn because the straight is so long. Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn. In other words, if you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn you may. This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. However, if a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable, and only results in accidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry, so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass him on the low side.

Procedures

Racing begins at 10pm Eastern / 7pm Pacific. Divisions 1 and Division 3 will race together in the TURTLE_Division3 lounge. Divisions 2 and Division A will race together in the TURTLE_Division2 lounge. The final results of each division will be separate.

Connection Issues

Please follow the procedures below to help minimize connection issues.

Step 1: Reboot your modem/router before entering the appropriate Turtle lobby
Step 2: Reboot your PS3 before entering the appropriate Turtle lobby
Step 3: Clear your GT5 in game System Cache before entering the appropriate Turtle lobby

Pit Stops

Drivers need to be very careful entering the race track when exiting the pit. Please look at your map to see if other drivers are near the pit exit. Drivers exiting the pit need to stay in the pit exit lane until the track is clear of cars on the track. Cars on the track have the right of way.

Penalties

The corner cutting penalty system works very well on this track so we shouldn't have any issues with corner cutting.

Quitting

Drivers are expected to finish races no matter what position they are in. Rage quitting is frowned upon! :grumpy:

Microphones

Although you are welcome to use microphones during the race, they should only be used to communicate your proximity to other drivers in order to avoid an incident. Otherwise, either mute them or make sure any background noise in non-existent.

Reminders

Be sure to break in your car. If you did not get a chance to break it in, you should at least change the oil.

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward.

Final Note

Race Clean and Have Fun!

I can't race tonight. I haven't purchased the track pack with the spa in it and can't spare the extra $ right now. Haven't been able to race lately any way. Been filling in driving for a friend on the weekends in his car. Hopefully you all have fun. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks Krobyle! We hope to see you on the track soon. 👍

sorry to inform u guys but my brother just told me he has a connected careers game at 11:00 with his friend in Madden -_- I hope this isn't every week or else I will be pretty pissed off.

Hi guys. Bought a nexus 7 tablet yesterday and only had a few hours to configure it with a buddies computer (i dont have a computer) thought i would be back in time for race.

lost connection the last race, housemate decided to update the router right as the second race was starting. Oh well, I'm back in division 2 :) which is where i need to stay at. I won't be able to make the next race since I have 3 test following right after that race. It was a good race though I do wish I had more free time to practice the track. I'll see you guys September 29th.

Yes, the racing was great last night. 👍 Good luck on your tests!

I swear, I have the WORST luck on race days :irked: :grumpy:

Shortly before the race stared (about 20 mins prior), my pedals for my DFGT stuck on full throttle/full brake, and they STILL don't work, I haven't been able to fix them. On top of this, I have been unable to connect to GT servers as of yesterday morning as well, so it's problem after problem for me :( 👎

Anyone have a DFGT and had to deal with stuck pedals? Any tips would be appreciated 👍

Great racind last night guys.

If it makes you feel any better my baby has started teething, and I had to be pulled away twice from game. Once at qualifying, got about 3 laps in, and then during the second race for about 20-25 minutes. :/ Think I ended up finishing 15 laps on 2nd race. In last place of course.

I wondered what happened to you. Baby teething pains....ahhhh.....the good old days! :)

Race Recap

Excellent racing in our first split division races. We had 1 disconnect in Divisional Lounge 1/3 during Race 1 (mc_polo) but it was not a network issue. We also had 1 disconnect in Divisional Lounge 2/A (zxxCOUNT210xxz) in both Race 1 and 2. Rough start for zxxCOUNT210xxz. Very close racing again with very long drawn out battles. Psycho-Tuber held off martin_ky and DREX81 for over 18 laps and took the win in Race 2 only .508 ahead of martin_ky. Welcome and congratulations to ivandwe and spyagent1439 for hanging in there and finishing both races. Congratulations guys on an exceptional night of racing!

Yea, words of advice, tell your housemate before he messes with the router to freaking wait for you to get your stuff done. Thank you Ty.

Another very good night of racing! All very close finishes!

I can't believe psyco was in div 3! I guess the disconnects played a part in that, but I figured we were all in div 1 racing for the lead! I was left in the dust in race 2 and I love spa..

And the pole position, what a challenge that has become! Those 2 points are the decider in a lot of these races! I can't believe I squeezed out a lower time than Martin!

Great job psycho!!! Movin on upppp!!

Thanks DREX! And yes, the reason I was in Division 3 was that I had gotten disconnected in my last 3 races. Race 2 was sensational! By the end of lap 2 all 3 of us (myself, martin, and you) were running in consecutive order and ended up finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I can't believe I held you guys off for 18 laps. martin was on my ass the whole time. BTW, congratulations on winning Race 1. :D
