Tom
According to their Twitter it'll be FWD to save money.

Sounds like a BMW 1 series style heroic failure on the way, sorry to say that but there's always a lemon or two in the field. If it can beat the Thorney Insignia's, then that will be something.

Thorney were supposed to announce sponsors at Autosport International, but I heard nothing from them?

That's a bit premature isn't it?

Car's not even been unveiled yet!

Perhaps but I am a little pessimistic. Certainly this season looks to be a very strong season, and there's going to some heroic successes and failures on the way.

In a bit more positive news we may have yet another new team and car:

Add a SEAT Exeo to the list :D.

No chance, they had no previous tweets then posted a photo of a Seat on a used car forecourt meaning they probably don't even own it. It would be good if it was true but I don't see this being anything other than total bull poop.

Lots of new teams, but how many realistically will finish the season and improve? I think some of them will last a few rounds and then run out of money

Well we always get a lot of talk pre-season from various teams and drivers claiming they are going to be on the grid.
So its very likely that many won't even appear on media day or at Brands Hatch...or ever.

We never really know who is on the grid till we're about to go racing for round 1.

Turkington will return to the BTCC with eBay Motors next season according to the official BTCC Twitter page.

Even though I hate the 1 series, too fat and ugly for me. Turks being back is pretty much as good as it gets for news. Equal to if Gio was to return.

I've just seen that on Autosport, I think a little pee has come out!

So does Turk bring sponsorship, or an increased wage bill? I got the impression he came with a high asking price?

I think he's probably got a smaller pay now. He couldn't continue cos he lost sponsorship (RAC?) so I think he misses racing so probably does it for less
Still nice to see him return 👍

Hell yes, I've waited for this since the end of 2009!

Just need Giovanardi back now...or Yvan Muller for some fun :P.

So if WSR can get Turkington back....who on earth are 888 going to field next to Plato? Will Plato even let a decent driver in the other seat? Or will 888 call the shots? (I hope so!)

There are plenty of brilliant or great drivers on the market right now:
Rob Huff
Alain Menu
Yvan Muller
Paul O'Neill
Tom Chilton
Fabrizio Giovanardi

Plato did just ran a that competition when he took on 5 people under his wing - maybe one of them? Just thinking out side the box here 👍

Yeah that was the most horrible team order I've ever seen not even justifiable for winning's sake because it partly took Onslow-Cole out of the title hunt for 2010. 👎

It was a shame they tempted Tom back because I really enjoyed his performances in the AmD Golf. At least we get to see more of that in the VW Passat. 👍

Guys, just had to change my avatar and title :sly:

Great news for whole of BTCC though 👍

I think for the first time since 2009 I genuinely have a driver I want to see win the title and who has a reasonable chance at doing so. :D

I'll still support Mat Jackson too but he needs to sort out his consistency and the Focus needs to avoid breaking down from race victories.

Drivers I'd love to see win in order of chances at the title:
1. Turkington
2. Jackson
3. Wrathall
4. Austin
5. O'Neill

So yeah I might be changing my avatar too at some point :P

We need to wait and see for pre-season testing, as we have no idea the BMW may not be fast straight out the box

I really hope Paul O'Neill gets a seat, would be a shame if he didn't.

I think its fair to assume WSR will put together a good package. And NGTC has so far proven that you can get up to speed pretty quick seeing as almost all of the new NGTC cars have been on the pace (except the under-funded cars like the Insignia).

Lest us forget Plato and 888's MG debut...
