I do have my map on 2. The arrows don't line up 100% with the cars on my game

And just a note I almost never pass on the inside unless I have either got even with the car next to me or the other driver is asleep at the wheel, situation averted

Here are the official results from our league night on March 24, 2013

If you believe that another driver exhibited poor racecraft or is guilty of an OLR Rules violation, please file a complaint by 10pm Eastern / 7pm Pacific on Monday night. You must follow the complaint process precisely or your complaint will not be addressed!! If you're undecided on whether or not you should file a complaint, please read this. Also keep in mind that a race complaint isn't supposed to be an argument. Here are some good tips on how to make sure things stay civil and respectful. 👍

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
ROUND 2 - Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) RM '04 @Cape Ring North

Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since RickyBobbyV8 wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it

The round that received the second most votes was:
ROUND 3 - Gran Turismo 350Z RS @Deep Forest Raceway / Reverse

This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since GTP_Worst_Driver gets Prize B, he gets to decide which part of the combo is replaced and what replaces it.

Price C goes to moperlover so he gets any gift car ticket listed here.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your car and/or track selection until all racing complaints are filed and the results are made official. It's important that you review our Car/Track History so that you can see a complete history of how many times we've raced each car and track (just scroll to the right of that tab). Please remember that originality is always appreciated. Therefore, picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required).

Car Selection Guidelines
Selected cars must be available in the 'Dealerships', in the 'Online Dealership' (OCD), or in the Racing Car Pack. As discussed here, there will no longer be a restriction on when OCD cars can be selected. They are are now available for selection every week. However, OCD cars $1M and above are not available for selection during the second week of the OCD batch's availability (click here to check).
The maximum price for a selected car is $5M. However, if you select a car from the OCD during it's second week of availability, it must cost less than $1M.
DLC cars that are FREE and currently available in the PlayStation Store are also available for selection.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete (don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife)
Any track that's in the Course Pack or the Twin Ring Motegi Pack are also available for selection.

With a name like Ricky Bobby we better be going to Daytona in stock cars.

Or a Corvette.

Or stock cars at any track.

Why? Because race car.

A Photo essay of a clean defensive entrance defeated by a clean offensive (possibly in more ways than one) exit.

While I'm no Snailien or expert in any way, I'd been practicing this line for 3 weeks on this combo and it finally worked to my advantage. Admittedly, I think Pyxen didn't quite get the corner he was trying for, which helped quite a bit with the success in this case.

Last corner of last lap.

If I never get another pass as righteous as this one, I can still take the long dirt nap a happy man.

So, I'm watching replays becasue it's part of my job as a steward here and when I finished with the official stuff, I went back and watched the last two laps of Race 2 in Division 1. I won this race and held off WorstDriver for two full laps.

I want to take a minute and thank WorstDriver for having the amount of skill that he has as he was able to avoid my sideways-bouncing off walls self for a good chunk of those two laps. I was driving as hard as I ever have in this game to try and keep him behind me. It was the best prolonged battle I have ever been a part of. No offense to Vail here as we have had some epic battles as well. This was in a class all by itself. I hope I have the opportunity to be in that position again.

This kind of stuff is why I'm here. Not every week is great -- I wasn't very happy with my performance last night (or the week before. Sorry GF). But sometimes you have a race or a battle that makes it all worthwhile, and then some. Good stuff. 👍

Fact #1 A guy named RickyBobby is in line to pick a car and track combo.

Fact #2 SNAIL has never run a race at Daytona SS

I wonder what's going to happen next....

*shakes fist!!!* Drrraaaaagonnnnn!!

Man that is just plain funny!! I have had "PYYYYXXEEEEENNNNN!!" In my head once (or twice!!) And since you brought it up, I think I DID mutter "don't do it" right before you passed me in race five. (There is a story behind that... I will clue you in later) Wow, man, last night was just an absolute blast. "The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat!!" I watched many replays myself tonight and with Jester's fantastic photography I got to live it all again!! Even after all this time, it still puts a huge smile on my face!

It seems this weeks discussion has been centered around The Pass. This is pretty cool since passing has been on my mind lately. Over the past few weeks, I have been finding a little more speed and making clean passes is one of the many things I have been trying to figure out. I learned how to make passes in a racing situation on a dirt bike where running someone high and wide or the outright block pass was acceptable. After spending almost all day Sunday watching Indy/Indy lites and F1, the case for passing is much different in technique AND attitude. The term "Gentleman Racer" (and not gentleman sausage) really sank in. Intelligent decisions whether it be making the pass or getting passed. Knowing when you have a clear lane and when to concede when you are clearly beaten. I still have quite a bit to learn but I will always strive to make the perfect (*dragonwhisky!!*) pass.

Thanks again everyone and look forward to next week!!

Very exciting night here at the Owens' house, I finished one of my many projects.

PC Sim racing is in the very near future for Jeff of Owens Racing. ;)

Since I keep forgetting to casually bring it it up I'll just blatantly brag while I can remember. Guess who got to drive a 500 horse Jaguar xkr? I'll give you a hint, it's the same guy that's about to say I have a new dream car.

I have a new dream car :drool:

The Tuesday Morning Steward Report

One of this week's prize winners has an incident under review. Therefore all prize winners must wait until the final Weekly report is posted before making their selections.

Well I was going to so something productive, but my dad just got home from work and passed out in his chair. Leaving me stranded in my room. If anyone wants me I'll be in d1 running some highly caffeinated laps at the ring.

Since I'm feeling wild I'm going no assists (not even abs) and sports hard with the f40. I'll be back to report after both my car and caffeine crash.

Edit. First lap out I ran a 7:51:50 I think that's pretty good for an f40 on sh. Only tuning is an air filter and a fixed gearbox (no longer dreadfully long with a wasted final gear)

It was a lot of fun for me too but at the line you were first. You earned your victory the hard way. Nicely done again JL. 👍

A few words on apexes. While it's possible my understanding is limited, here's what I've found.

There are 3 Apexes to every turn;

The Mathematical Apex;
The point at which, if you stood the curve vertically, it is neither physically rising nor falling

The Apex;
The point(s) at which the object traversing the curve is closest to the innermost side,

The Racing Apex;
The one most of us are interested in almost exlusively and is the point at which you can mash the gas to 100% and not fly off the track in a squeal of rubber and crunch of sand or swish of grass.

TRA is often used in conjunction with TA but rarely do either work well with TMA.

OK. Done trying to be profound. Heckle as you please.

Make a stellar pass and now you are a driving instructor? ;-)

I'm totally kidding my friend. I value your opinion. Take every advice you've offered to heart and must say you really are one to offer solid info.
