The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 5 Spot Race!

As stated above, this is the spot race thread for the Season 5 Spot race.
The race is to test out the new season's specs, and new features. As in real life, we will have both DP and GT classes represented. The race will take place on Saturday, May 18. All drivers returning for season 5 are strongly encouraged to attend. New drivers will be able to attend too. Spots ARE NOT first come, first served.

Date: Saturday May 18
Time: Room opens at 6 PM eastern Qualifying until 7. Race starts at 7.
Track: Laguna Seca
Laps: 50 (49+1 pace lap)
Tires: Racing Medium
Aids: None (Including no ABS)
Room Settings: Real, no Vis Damage
Class Splits: 8/8

We will be using the usual Caution procedure:

A caution is when two cars are involved in a crash, and both drivers type "Caution." If only one driver types caution, KEEP RACING! When a caution comes out, we will all slow down, and the GT and DP leaders will catch up to each other. Everyone will catch up to their class leader, then both classes will pit. If you are a lap down, you may get your lap back at this time. After we all pit, we will go green at the end of that lap. Pitting is OPTIONAL during cautions.

If I can get on that day, I'll try it with the Corvette Z06. Good luck to everyone participating!!!

I just want to know whether or not no ABS is set in stone, or if you're using this spot race to judge its usability?

As I keep saying on a BB of 4, 2 etc. More in cars with DF there is little difficulty once you learn not to just stamp the brakes..

And? :P Just kidding, I'm ready to race.

I am too.

And in response to the no ABS;

If everyone practices a bit, and comes prepared; there will be no issues. The issue will be when someone doesn't practice and comes with a 5/5 brake bias and slams on the brakes...

If we all do a bit of practice, the race will be very fun.

I'm definitely going to need practice with no abs.

It also means you can actually "out brake" someone :P.

It's much more rewarding I think. Anyone can just slam on the brakes, but it's more fun when you really have to focus.

Me gusta. Makes it more of a drivers series.

Have fun guys ;). Since I'm GT reserve I won't be racing, that doesn't stop me from practicing :).
