what are peoples opinions on having some of the many 4x4 and suv's out their included in the game???? if YES, stare why and what cars you would want. if NO just state why.....

My personal feeling is that is would be a good thing, they are allot of fun to drive in the real world ,if u get hold of a good one(2006 BMW X5 4.8is or Mercedes-benz ML63 AMG). so it is fair to say that if PD get the physics right for them, they could be as equal amount as fun in the game.

Personally I think they should include them, and then allow us to be able to tune these cars and tweak them about to eventually create a different league in the online mode. Maybe even allowing us to decal them, to the extent where they are like the cars in pari-dakar.
The type of cars i had in mind are;
BMW X5 ( all models since released)
BMW X6
Porsche Cayenne (turbo, cayenne, cayenne s, turbo s)
Mercedes-benz ML (all models)
Land Rover (all models
Etc........

Opinions plz?????

Unacceptable. You have a keyboard, not a telephone numeric pad. Leave the "txtspk" for "msging" your "m8s".

Lets face it, there are very few times that a 4x4 was given the purpose of speed around a race track.

The only ones i remember that definetly would make sense to go around a road coarse are....

But on the more accurate side, most suvs or truck like vehicles are meant for off roading which im a big fan of and believe it deserves a spot in the GT series.

Gran Turismo has already given us Rally racing and a couple of Dakar vehicles from Mitsubishi.

I feel that there could be a really neat opening to desert racing available if GT were to get more of these in.

Heres some examples that i think would add to the GT off road world.

Honestly, I don't see why you " dislike " people who type like that. You can say just leave the " txtspk ", but why do you have to add " msgin " your " m8s " ? So what if they type like that on their own time? It seems like you are trying to be bigger than the original poster or something. Unacceptable.

Allow me to introduce you to the site rules.

Please note that the phrase I quoted from the site rules:

GTP Acceptable Use Policy

... has three examples. Please further note that the poster used two of these three. You'd like a clearer example of breaking the rules, perhaps?

I could have just up and issued an Infraction for it. Instead I chose to warn him "off the books", which I think he'd prefer to being one-third of the way towards a ban right now. Just like I'm sure he'd prefer that members discuss his thread topic rather than my moderation.

Anything else?

Oh, I know the site rules. I was trying my hardest to type properly. I don't wanna go to the GTP Forums Jail.

i dont know . mods get riled up over that sort of thing.
We are not riled. We are upholding the site rules.

surprised they think people would care or take offense to it
As GTP is an international board, we expect our users to use English to the best of their abilities so that users using Englsih as a second language will have a chance of being able to use these forums. If members type in slang and text speak, it makes it difficult for non-native Enlgish speakers to read and understand posts.

Now, back to the topic at hand.

I would like to see all types of four wheeled vehicles. Every car imaginable, maybe even some old VW vans. My wife loves those. It would make it easier for me to get more time in on the game, if there were some cars she wouldn't mind watching.

thank you for the level headed, calm response.(unlike Famine)

Sorry, and this is totally in fun, but what language is that? (Gonna assume you did that on purpose. ;))

I like the idea of some SUV type cars in the final version. As for VW vans and such, the line has got to be drawn somewhere. Unfortunately not every vehicle ever made can be in this game. I would be cool if that was possible, though. Imagine racing the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost or a Duesenberg. Or the Batmobile.;)

I think they should put trucks and SUV's in, but only the performance models. Ford Lightning, SRT-8 Jeep cherokee, Porsche Cayenne turbo, etc.

I like the idea of some SUVs being included, there are plenty out there that probably handle better than a lot of saloons, and even some basic small SUVs now handle pretty well. GT has had stranger vehicles before (Daihatsu Midgets of both vintage and modern, the Ford Model T... etc)...

...so I also think this is a good idea. VW vans may be dog slow but then so are many cars already in the GT series. And with tune up options for VW vans including Porsche engine swaps, it's not like there aren't quicker ones out there.

GT is after all the "Real Driving Simulator" - even if some vehicles aren't great to race, they'd be fun to drive. Although at 6 months to build a car for the PS3, I can understand if the variety isn't massive...

Some real 4x4's would be fun for rough terrain. I'm not really a fan of suv's.
Give me a Mercedes G over an ML any day :)
Or maybe this would be something for another game for offroad vehicles only, since there are 0 (realistic) games for offroad motorsports except rally.
Still a couple of classic 4x4's would be fun to have in the game.

Would like it to have some 4x4, races the range rover sometimes in GT4, with the new engine it must be much more of a hand full.

Really hoping for a Merc ML or GL :P

Yes it does. So I guess that means that PD shouldn't have included the Honda Odyssey in GT4 then?
I wasn't suggesting where the line should be drawn, just that is has to be drawn somewhere. PD might have to include roll-over physics if they incorporate some SUVs and vans.

...the first Mercedes, that 0.5hp contraption that couldn't even climb the banking on a corner.

I'd love more SUV's, but let's work on a fairer country representation first, eh?

Sorry about the slang, I put my hands up and admit full responsibility. However, my laptop keyboard is broken and therefore does not always register inputs. Having said that, by looking at the complete post you can see that it is not a choice of mine to write in that way. I understand though and cheers for the warning: tup:

Save the SUVs for the school run! :sly:

I think it is important to include SUV’s to help show people that they are not just school run about for those that are rich. But that the correct one are actually allot of fun, and can even rival a car such as the BMW M6, as I once did in a Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, with not much between the two cars.:)

I think its a great idea, since they introduced standing starts I have spent a lot of time in the sand in turn 1 and it would be really nice to have a range rover or something like that so I could return to the track in a timely manor.:dopey:

Suvs in GT?!?!

No
Non
Nein

I would infinitely prefer PD to spent more time on including all those historic race cars from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, etc. than a single second on one of those things.

Why not? it's the main difference between gt and other games.

Family cars? why not.
electric/flex-fuel/atomic cars? why not.
