1.) Download Vantage here.

2.) Install It.

3.) Run it. "Performance Mode" please.

Your score must have a "P" in front of it so we know the correct mode was run.

Please follow this format to make copy/paste easier for the leader board section. [*B]Username - [*url=http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=999999]P99,999 - #GPU x GPU Model core/memory/shader CPU @ Frequency.

Example: [*B]Pako - [*url=http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=677642]P25,216 2 x GTX280 716/1201/1571 Q9550@~4.0GHZ

Note:
Some tools I use to give me CPU and GPU information are GPU-Z and CPU-Z. They are free downloads and tools anybody providing bench marks might find useful.

For GPU overclocking tools, you might try Riva Tuner. (warning, use at your own risk)

I know there are more tools out there, but these are some of the basic tools that use.

Ah, I thought this would be in the Computers section.

No worries. It's one of those splitting hair decisions :)

3DMark benchmarks help determine the effective gaming performance of a particular machine. Had this been PCMark for example, I would have put it in the Computers and Electronics forum.

Oh, is that what it is? I see.

Damn, though, 25k? A computer with my uncle's specs is benching 18k max. That's pretty crazy, man.

18K is a decent score. Post it up and I'll add it to the list. If you want to list CPU specs as well, that would be cool.

Just for fun, I ran a lower clocked run. I managed to get a P24123 with my cards at 700/1152/1536 and my CPU at 3.825GHZ at 1.368v.

Running another test at the same clock speeds without Physx hardware running "disable PPU" I scored a P19082.

A little closer to your uncle's specs. As you can see, enabling hardware Physx support in nVidia cards gives me another ~5,000 points. It's clear that 3DMark Vantage has some Physx optimized runs in their benchmark.

i just did the trial run. Wonder how much my score would improve w/ one of those physx cards.

My pc scored lower in the graphics test, but higher in the physx test than smallfryz. wow, that GX2 is still a pretty penny.

P7350 3DMarks for me. i just did the trial run. Wonder how much my score would improve w/ one of those physx cards.

It could have a 5,000 point improvement in looking at my Physx and Non-Physx enabled benches.

sorry bout that. corrected now :) meh, i shoulda bumped my cpu up more before running vantage :( i could probably hit 3.8ghz w/ stockcooling and voltages.

Got you updated. Crank up those volts and lets see what that E8400 can do.
Just kidding, only do what your comfort level is. ;)

Can OC the cpu to 3.4ghz though i dont know if everything is running properly or not.. score is a bit low... maybe? though not bad for a 18mth old system i guess (though GFX got replaced under warranty from a 8800GTX for free)

Slight OC'ed

Small_Fryz - P8121 9800GX2 stock and E6600 @ 3.0ghz

i want to run again, but ive run out of free scans, gonna have to buy the basic version.

Man, I've been trying all day to just match my 25K score. Must have been a freaky thing. The best I've done is P24,464 today.... Ugh.

I was kind of disappointed, but not bad for a single GPU set-up

Opendriver - P7379 8800GT 720/1836/1019 E7200 @ 3.2 Ghz (400*8)

Once I get a GX260, things should go up a good amount

👍 Yes, a 260 should really help things along nicely.

Well, oddly enough, it looks like my P25,240 score is better than I can even reach. I tried everything to reach it again to see if I could do any better with zero luck. Closest I got was a P25,060 score. The main difference is I am running HDMI out (with an adapter) instead of VGA. I haven't switched back to VGA to see if it makes any difference. I'll have to post my findings.

Updated with a +P26K score. I really don't see braking 30k without going Tri-SLI with these 280's. At that point, the question really needs to be, should a guy just go quad SLI with a couple 295's. *shrugs*

:D Well..... I wanted to hit 5ghz which I clearly wasn't going to do with the Q9550 chip. I happened upon a E8600 that let me push the snot out of it. You can find a screen shot in this post.

I've been running the X3: Terran Conflict bench and it loves CPU juice. I still have the Q9550 that I'll keep in reserves should the E8600 decide to pop.

Wow.

Got the E8400 running 4Ghz and appears stable, but Vantage has gone buggy on me. It won't even complete at stock speed and voltage. :(

Hey, I was wondering how the E8400 was working for ya. I was getting some weird stuff, unstable issues at speeds that were stable in the past. I re-installed my OS and things seem better now. Something about 30+ BSOD and hard system lockups and restarts can start to mess with an OS's stability. Not sure if you have had a lot of BSOD and so on testing your overclocks, but it may be a consideration. :)

I wonna see that CPU in the 4.6-4.8 range. :D

Hows the G.Skill working for ya? What's your ram speed when the CPU is at 4ghz?

My uncle told me he got his E8500 pushing 5ghz through windows with foxconn's software when he first got it.

I clocked it to 3.8ghz through the bios without a sweat-- that's on a 400mhz bus and 1.25V. I'm sure it could go more than that but I didn't want it to use more than 1.3V. Speedstep is also great. It goes down to 2.3ghz at 1.12V at idle. :)

I haven't touched the RAM yet. I've never quite got to the point of knowing what I should do regarding the timing and especially the voltage. It runs at 1066Mhz, 5-5-5-15 2T, at 2.1v. A clean Vista install is planned sometime soon. I might see if Vantage works in 7 and try it there.

I also get an error in Prime95 on the first thread, which refers me to look at the stress.txt file, which does not exist...But I haven't had any lockups or other problems with regular use or in the Crysis CPU bench or 3dmark06. Averaged about 30fps for the Crysis bench and broke 18k 3dMarks for 06. I know it has to be over 20k for Vantage if it would ever complete.

Very nice. Those CPU's just keep on giving.... I'm sure 1.6v isn't very good for it, but it sure is fun to push it there.

Where's his benchmarks? ;)

For sure! As I messed with GTL voltages at the higher GHZ, I could never get prime stable in both threads. Depending on what I had it set at, I could either get the first or the second thread stable. Odd....

Keep those benches coming.... :)

Is it bad I really haven't played any games since getting the SLI setup?

I haven't gamed but a couple hours since I built this system. Just benching all the time.

Just trying to beat my prior benches.
