Did you do your run with the reference cooler? I'd love to see the score of your 290X if you decide to slap an aftermarket cooler on it. It should be pretty beast, even more so, at that point.
Yeah reference.

I am going to stick an aftermarket cooler on it at some point. Most likely air at first, but maybe watercooling in the future.

My physics scores are a little messed up for some reason too (scoring 1-2k less than before) so I should be scoring a little higher anyway! I think it might be something to do with upgrading to Windows 8.

*waits for someone with a 780Ti to come in and obliterate*

I don't think a 780Ti is going to be that far ahead. Remember all the tests so far are with a reference cooler on the 290X. And from what I've read so far the reference cooler is beyond ridiculously awful on the R9 cards. I'm expecting the aftermarket 290X and 290's to perform a substantial margin better than the reference cards. It won't beat a 780Ti, but it won't be far off.

there is a Titan Black edition now with unlimted TDP. lol nvidia milking that gk110. the 290 and 290x run a lot hotter than nvidia counterparts but supposedly they are made to withstand the temps of 95c or so. I've never seen my card go over 65c

2nd 290 came. here is an early run :)

That's really close to my sli 670s. I think at stock I get almost 14k And can break 15k with them
turned up.

After looking at the leaderboard 3D mark must have gotten harder to run in the last year or so. There's no way my 670s can keep up with 780s. I'll have to run it tonight and see what I get. It's been awhile.

9500 is probably the best i'll be able to do.

*edit* don't ask me why the driver's aren't approved. Maybe it's because the driver was just released yesterday or something, I don't know.

Minor bump: It seems the run is now considered valid, if you want to update ;)

*edit* Also, come on guys! I know of at least two brand new builds. Break 'em in or something!

*edit 2* crap, I don't remember my clocks for that run.

Here she is :)

Saw boost speeds of 1255, 1267 and 1279 during the Fire Strike run.

Suck it, 290X. :D

15451 - Gabkicks - Intel i7 4790k @ 4.4GHz - [2] x Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-x @ 1000MHz/1300MHz - stock/air

Nicely done! :)

Well, the term "stock" is a little misleading, isn't it? It's factory overclocked, so it's not "stock" :)

"Stock" is different than "reference". :)

Stock would infer factory settings with no end user adjustment or modification to clock speeds.

Last run by @GT-R updated.

Well, I guess it depends on the perspective, doesn't it?
But it's not that you're wrong, it's just for ME that reference and stock are basically the same thing, although they might not be.

Thought I'd get in on the fun too...
