I would like to know if there is any interest in starting this series? Looking for ideas.

YES !!!!! My brother and a couple of other guys were doing this last night at Nur/Nord and it was a blast.Just some of the things we talked about last night.1963 to 1974 cars only?Do you exclude any cars like the 1970 Toyota Race car?Limit HP or PP? I'm going to look at all the cars and tracks that would make this work. The old cars are so much fun to drive. Will get back to you.👍

Car List RC/RM

American cars RC/RM

Ford Mark IV (RC) 67
Ford Gt 40 (RC) 69
Camaro Z28 (RM) 69
Corvette C2 Z06 (RC) 63
Challenger R/T (RM) 70
Mustang Trans Cammer (RC/RM?) 70

European Cars RC/RM

Mark IV (RC) 67
Jaguar XJI3 (RC) 66
Chaparral 2D (RC) 67
Chaparral 2J (RC) 70
Ferrari 330P4 (RC) 67

Japanese Cars RC/RM

Honda S800 RSC (RC) 68
Toyota 7 (RC) 70

I may have missed some but I think that is it.I also have a list of non RC/RM cars as well. It's a starting point anyway.

I would be interested. I almost always run my 69' Camaro Rms online mostly along with the 67' Ford Mark IV.

I would also throw in the 66' (?) Shelby GT350 which would also be able to run. I really wished they had made it a premium model instead of the 70 Mustang.

I would also find or separate the races by classes. Clearly you can not put a Challenger and Camaro in the same race as the Old Le mans Cars Such as the Mark IV.

Far as Trans Am races, I would like to see it stick to Original Tracks, with a few add on in the series such as Deep Forest and Nurburgring. Of Course Laguna Seca is the Main track used.

I would also suggest that the rooms have all driving Aids turned off. (ABS allowed of course just because)

I raced online last night with a good group of Muscle Car fans who had a huge range of classic cars from GT40s to RM Camaros and Challengers. Im sure i could get them involved and i would love to race also.

I would be interested I race on laguna seca most of the time in my 69 camaro RM or my 70 challenger RM, And my 66 Shelby or 66 GT350 . love the old cars and that track

I would LOVE a vintage Trans Am series. A vintage Trans Am race would only be American muscle cars of pre 73 vintage. Without the Boss 302 Mustang and the AMC Javelin of course its incomplete... And the only American track from that era in the game is Laguna (which I hate )

But no race cars, no newer cars, and around 400hp. Otherwise it's not Trans Am.

That won't work as the 69 Z28 RM is 508 HP

I believe a Cap of 700 HP would be better. The challenger ends around 788 but still can has to be driven with expertise to get around the much lighter and better handling Camaro.

Of course, we can do track days with any old racing car like the Monterrey Historical Races. I believe Daytona Road Course would Also be a good track. ( I actually use to live near there and watched the old HSR races alot)

The Cars that should be required as Premiums.

^^Took those myself FYI.

I am willing to work with you killerJim to get something setup. (and also, the camaro HP tops out at 565hp)

Yes I know haven't broke the engine in yet on the Camaro.

Yes I have all the RC/RM cars for this series.
To bad they don't have Mosport for a track. They raced CanAm and still race SCCA there as well.I will try to format a series with spec's for US Japan and European cars.

Could be fun with these cars for a Monterrey Historical Race series also.

That won't work as the 69 Z28 RM is 508 HP

First... RM doesn't increase horsepower. Maybe YOUR Z28 RM is 508, but that's because you modified it.

Second, it doesn't matter what horsepower a car has since we can reduce it by up to 50%.

400-450 hp is what the real Trans Am cars ran back in the day.

This sounds like a great idea

I'm up for it if you'll have me

maybe a different car every time we race but all the same specs

like one night a z28 then the other a mach one...........

The winner of the first race would pick a muscle car from their garage that we could all use to race.

Some of the Shelby Can Am guys I personally know. I actually by chance own half of Shelby Can Am 3.3 Block #50.

This looks like a great idea and there seems to be more interest. Would try doing Muscle Car showdown, non RM Muscle cars. Then maybe RM Camaro vs Challenger. Should we limit it to American cars or include classic race cars form around the world? The title is Trans Am after all so one would think its American competition.

I'm in for what ever we agree on.Could always add weight or reduce HP to get cars even.

it is a travesty that there is a camaro rm and no mustang rm

Just bought the 70 Mustang Trans-Cammer from the Grand Touring Garage/dealership.
$725000 and bought all the parts about $850000 total and it comes out to 741HP/6900RPM,1470kg, 582 PP.
It is not broken in yet so probably another 30 to 50 horses.
No Aero or RM mods for this car, doing a tune right now,she has a happy rear end.

I am in , love this cars , lets do it

Do we want to do some testing tonight?
Mazda Raceway (Laguna) tonight around 7:00 pm EST?
Discussion Topics:
HP limit?
Weight restriction?
Tires?
Number of Participants?
Tracks and laps?

I think weekends would work better with peoples schedules. I agree tuere should be regulations because of the difference between so many of these cars. And the '65 GT350 is somewhat a race version of the Mustang but it was more of a street car. The GT350R would he the race veraion we want. I personally love the idea of this Trans Am series, i would love to get involved and help suggest some rules and regs for the series.

Maybe we could get a list going of who is interested and what day or time they would like to race on.

I am good for any night of the week except friday and saturday after 7pm eastern.
