Great season everyone!

Time for season accolades.

Consistent driver of the season goes to:
Mudd
(5 of 8 races in 3rd in G1, average finish 2.875)

Most improved driver of the season goes to:
undoubably, GTP_CAMikaze in G1
(4.75 ave. finish 1st half. 3.5 ave. finish 2nd half. with a 2nd & 3rd place finishes)
I think we would have seen same results in G2, but I think the superbird held him up.

Historic Trans Am Racing Season II Prizes

After seeing the prizes rewarded for the Wild Card weekend, I realized that I had underestimated the value of many of the prize tickets. So I've changed how they will awarded to even it out a bit.

Each of the three podium finishers for Group 1 may chose from the Birthday Tickets available: '63, '65, '66, '67, '69, '70, '71

Each of the three podium finishers for Group 2 may chose either a Modern Muscle Car ticket or a Classic Muscle Car ticket.

That's the best I could think of to try and keep the bigger prizes for the Main Event podiums.

Good luck, racers!

I can do group 1 races, but I don't know about group 2 races. I might not even show up that much. I need to get my own PS3...

Don't really have any pictures as I don't have a USB drive, but I might be able to put them on disk :P

Is the room being opened at 7PM EST, or 8PM EST, because that may be the one factor that keeps me from running at all.

Welcome aboard!

Do 2 player arcade mode, you can drive both cars, save the replay. You can upload the photo to the PS3 hard drive, then send it in a message to Kalmiya117. He will then put it up on the roster post.

Thanks. And, to Kalmiya117, can you downgrade the PP limit to 600, because if the limit is 640PP, the Dodge Challenger and the Corvette obviously overpower, because according to mygranturismo.net, the maximum PP's on each Group 1 Car are:

Camaro Z/28 RM: 607PP
Challenger R/T RM: 646PP
C2 Corvette Race Car: 630PP
Ford GT40: 603PP
Ford Mustang Mach 1: 606PP

Thus proving my point.

I'm in.

Group 1 will be the '63 Z06 or the '69 GT40.

Group 2 will be one of these, not sure which one yet.
RoadCourse-Indy_2.jpg

The power point limit and the tire issue will decide which way I go.

You know I'm in. Mudd #7 '69 Z28 RM, '71 Cuda 440 Six Pack. I'll try to figure out the pic posting tonight.

Only in some areas. I made a strong running against both the corvette and challenger. The only time either one of those cars has a huge advantage is on tracks with long straights. But they both do not handle as well. I can run same lap times with both my challenger and Camaro. And the Corvette is not as easy to drive compared to the Camaro. Regardless All cars require skill and proper tunes to make them fast.

Each car has it's areas of strong and weak points and a higher PP limit allows for the use of this. At 600pp limit the Camaro would undoubtedly devastate every other car.

Only the Group II has it's PP limits under change at this moment.

I've updated my first post with the prize list I decided on. Hope it looks good, I tried to keep the prizes related to the series.

edit: Ok, i give up. I'm just not computer savy enough. Kal, I sent you a pic of my car choices via psn.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Oh, by the way, this is JUST ONE example on how I'm going to "crush" the competition this season..

Huh, that challenger looks kinda familiar.

Good luck boys

When was that from? Way too useful a picture!

Remember guys, Send me a PM with a picture link of your cars in the same picture and I will post them in the roster.

When was that from? Way too useful a picture!. . .

I just painted my Challenger to match yours. "plum crazy", yellow wheels. Even got the font right on the numbers. It took a couple hours and about 8 beers, jumping my car onto "your car" and then timing the replay just right. (I can't stand that you can't rewind or fast forward replays).

And no, I really had nothing better to do.

Just goes to prove that with season two. The **** talking has begun!

And oh BTW, Hard to crush the competition when it's doing circles around you!

Also updated Roster!

That's a good one Kal! 👍

From this angle, with the "bird beak front", kinda makes the camaro look like a bird of prey swooping down at a rodent for its next meal. And judging by the angle of the sun in the sky, it's having Challenger for breakfest. *kaw kaw*

Oh yeah, I'm thinking that a good max PP for group 2 would be 550PP, just like the previous year.

Am I allowed to make practice rooms?

Feel free to make practice rooms, many of us get together throughout the week and practice together.
And I think we all agreed that 550 PP was good, we've just been tossing around possible ideas to improve the series, and we want to run a few test laps before setting anything in stone. All participants opinions are welcome, this series has been a 'majority rules' setup, but as you can see, the majority likes our Group 1 format just the way it is.:)

Racers, no reason to clog up this shiny new thread with a debate already, so we are using what's left of the Season 1 thread to vote on Group 2 regulation changes. Please check it and give us your thoughts.

Bad news guys.

I just got yellow lighted yesterday. Turns out this isn't good. I've spent some time online trying to find an actual diagnosis to what is the cause of the malfunction. All I'm finding is different opinions, & no solutions. If any of you are familiar with the YLOD syndrome, PM me. it goes "flash yellow, blink red continuously. Shuts off and beeps 3 times". I would like to take care of this myself. (I've done internal repairs on it before). It managed to turn on long enough this morning to back up my GT5 save data before it crashed again.

I have no idea how long I'll be down and out for, 1, 2, 3 weeks?.....or... indefinitely. Not knowing how catastrophic the failure is.

I'm going to start looking around for another one. Maybe find a "parts ps3". These things are like old cars, you need 2 of them to keep one of them working.

You guys go ahead and continue. I'll just come back whenever I can. I will still keep score for a little while. But if this becomes more permanent, I would like someone to take over at some point. Hopefully I'll just be back sooner then later.

I've experienced the YLOD and survived. It's actually a pretty easy fix, took me about 2 hours. I sent you a pm with the details

MIne had same issues when I bought it for $50. I suggest trying the "reflow" on the main board. Youtube has many videos on it. PM soem Pictures...

Perhaps the two of you should slow down on the track just a little, keep your ps3's from melting.:D

Thanks guys! Hopefully I'll have some spare time this week/weekend to rip into it. I'll keep you posted. It would be nice if they built electronics to last 10 years like they should.

Mudd, I think it was me spending couple hours 'monster trucking' Kal's Challenger is what did it in. Hasn't worked right since.....

Are we planning on starting this season right away this weekend?

I think we should delay for a week and let the roster fill...

...and I'm certain I remember reading somewhere that excessive passing of slightly lesser skilled drivers causes YLOD...I'll try to find a link to it :sly:
