I thought mudd was going to need a defibulator after that race. Kinda looks like he still does.... Are you ok Mudd?

I like the muscle drifting idea. but tuners call it "drifting", muscle car people call it "power sliding". We should do several "skills challenges". Like other sports have during their all-star breaks. I can think of several things we could do.

I also passed on my z28 RM last season for the z06 in favor of more variety. Turned out, z06 won. If no one steps up with the GT40 this week, I'll probably switch over to it.

Yea, 'The closer' is recovering nicely. :sly:

Definitely had some raised heart rate, coming out the final turn at Indy, knowing there's about a 1/4 mile worth of slip-stream dragging behind me, and I can see that matte black #27 in my mirror weaving back and forth trying to grab it.

Trans Am racing at it's finest! This season's gonna be a blast, and I'm really looking forward to some more 'where did he come from?' moments like that one!

Really wish I didn't have such a death-grip on my wheel at the time, I would've remembered to get some pic's of that to post in here.

Alright, I count 6 confirmed in the roster, with 3 more yet to be added. That should be plenty to start this Sunday. Are we starting at 7:00 or 8:00 EST? (practice/qualify start time)

I like the 7pm Eastern race start. This helps the East coasters from staying up past their bedtime. Also gives us more time to do the "bonus events" afterwards. But it really doesn't matter to me when.

I think I'm going to switch my G1 car to the GT40.... Then I will have to re-photograph my entries AND re-photograph my GT40 "crushing" Kal's Challenger.

I've also decided post all the race results & standings on the 1st page (beneath the roster posts) for quick and easy reference. That will also give us a reason to revisit the OP every week and the wonderful job Kal did on it.

7:00 does give me more time for post race antics. I was really looking forward to chasing after that matte black Camaro, but it would definitely be nice to have a little more variety in the G1 line up. Don't imagine it's gonna be to hard to talk you into breaking the Camaro out for some post race runs, anyway.

Sound like that's what it will be, but don't forget, 7:00 is the start time for last minute practice and qualify, the race start time will be 8:00

I thought we were talking about "7pm race start". But this will ultimately depend on Kal's schedule.

Yeah, Once I find out my work time on Sunday if there is any I will let everyone know. If I am off I will have my lounge open any time around 6-8 for practice qualify. And if there is enough people on board by say 7, or 8, we can begin the races.

Due to the nature of the Sport Softs, and their useful life time I am cutting the laps in Half for GII if everyone is okay with that. I still perfer GI being the "Main Event" anyhow.

Skel, you do not have to change your car. Let's do the first race with what everyone listed. We all like different cars but I am not going to dictate who runs what.

Agreed

I don't feel obligated to switch cars at all. I really enjoy the RM camaro, but I also really enjoy trying out new and different cars. I had a lot of fun last season with the Z06, and making it work when no one else could. This would also make the point race more interesting with; Chevy, Dodge, Ford.
Unless... you are scared of me running the GT40?? Just kidding. I'll pair up my Camaro's next season.

On a side note: I was turning 1'09.x laps at Deep Forest yesterday in the Camaro RM. (4 total, '09.6xx being the best). *brag*

Agree with the laps, 7:00 or 8:00 race start is fine with me, I just assumed we were talking about practice start earlier. As far as switching cars, I vote Skeletor drives the Fiat 500, who's with me?

I'd love to see a picture of that crushing Kal's Chally!

I think that Skel has the fortune of been one of the best drivers in my knowleage and the best drivers can drive the dificult to drive cars and win races, skel any car you choose you will do fine,I am not as fast as you , and I keep the camaro ,and in the fiat 500 I am the fastest no one can beat me, jajajaja

Coolracer, Skel is quite fast, but I think he is also pretty close to as fast as he can get. The rest of us are gaining on him MUCH faster the he is improving, so keep trying. I really believe we are gonna see some other names up front this season. I know I'm way more comfortable with my racing since I joined this group, and I see great improvements in the rest of us 'tail end of the field' guys, including you , Cool. Alot of the skill level improvements are due to the fact that Skel, Kal and Titus are so eager to help out a fellow racer with there experienced advice, and I thank them for that. I've finished ahead of those guys twice since I met them, and I know they had some sort of trouble both of those times, but the fact that I DID NOT have trouble at those moments and managed to take the wins proves that this league is making me a better racer.

Or we are just slowing down cause we are tired of cleaning all the bugs off the front of our cars.

But seriously, I really don't even race A Spec anymore, nor do much online racing besides with the Trans Am people. I am happily suited for that we do.

.

I was waiting for that response. Expected Skel to chime in first, but he's probaly busy taking pictures of a Fiat on top of a Challenger. :P

You guys are hilarious! I don't think I can get the fiat high enough in the air to land on Kal's "yacht" of a car. coolracer could do it. (let me know if you want to borrow Kal's Challenger)

Sometimes we all have to clean the dirt & grass off our cars too, along with cement from the concrete walls, and the Mudd. Not just the bugs.

:ouch:I actually didn't catch that until I read it the second time.:dunce:

Well played, worthy adversary!

Okay guys I have a couple problems...

1st: My Camaro tune absolutly sucks!

2nd: My lap times are extremely slow!
Please help me guys if you can. It would be very appreciated.

There's a few different Camaro tunes in there, including a couple by Kalmiya himself. Im sure there one in there that should help.
Also, I'll be online this evening (EST zone here) practicing and tuning in my lounge, usually a few of the Trans Am guys show up in there. Don't remember if I've got you on my friends list yet, if not, send me an invite and feel free to join us.

So last night Skel proved that a yellow Hemi Dodge Ram is a force to be reckoned with in the 550pp range, and If I don't mess up I can keep up a bit in my Ford F-150 Lighting. I do believe people were surprised to see trucks doing well. I finsihed 3rd in a nurburgring race with two BMW CSLs in front one being close and having me lead him for a while. By second lap my tires were gone in the rear however.

So that being said, grab yourself a truck and soup it up a bit as we are going to have some truck racing on the Ring at some point!

Also, Wild Card Track Idea. We can use this to run the American GT cars, AKA Dodge Viper, Corvette C5R, etc etc......

That was hilarious. I had no idea that big truck could do that. (you should see my Delorean @ 500pp. People get pissed when they lose to it)
Kal, don't forget I plowed a path for you at the 24hr nurburgring. Amazing how an 1800 kg truck can just mow through barriers like nothing. I felt like I was driving a GTR, big, heavy, ugly, 4wd, over-rated, etc. Also guys, when you get your trucks/suv's ready, make sure you have dirts & snows ready for it.

Kal, I thought of that too. Do a race where we run the modern day equivilants of our G1 cars. Challenger drivers would have to use the Oreca Viper, the rest is self-explanitory. Could be one of several activities we do.

this sound super , I was in this race too for 1 lap but I have not reedy with my truck but I will be.

Blue Oval Squadron: "This is Blue Oval Squadron requesting departure clearance on runway 07"

Control tower: "Roger Blue Oval Squadron, proceed to runway 07 and you are cleared for TAKE OFF!"

Yes, this is a roster change.

....strong is the temptation of the Dark Side....

My two entries are finally here. Get ready guys for a beatdown by... not me

I'll Update them tomorrow. Once I get them update kindly delete them from your posts.

Good Practice tonight. Tomorrow GII practice.

Also Idea, Group II can be a new-er Trans Am deal. We Run the newer cars (chevy's, ford's, mopars's etc etc. Not the Le Mans type but stock body ones.

Hmmm.... I like that idea. You talkin' about up-to-date cars? Like 2010 Camaro? Hope you mean season 3, though. I spent alot of time with this Cuda, looking forward to showing it off.

Really happy to see a Z06 on the roster. Would of been a shame if there wasn't after winning G1 last season. I can try to help you out with it. That thing is tough. But really the best advice I can give you is; learn good throttle control. And enjoy dominating the super speedways.

Kal, if we run modern cars, that kinda kills the "historic theme" we have set up. I would like us to test out the other historic Le mans, can am race cars and put them together. 2J, 2D, Mark IV, XJ13, Toyota 7, ferrari, . . . I don't know how we would work that in with this league. Maybe set it up on a different night. But that's neither here nor there.

Thanks for the advice on the Z06. I haven't driven if all out yet. Could you maybe provide a nice tune for it? I also like the historic Le Mans idea as I recently got the XJ13 from the Indy 500 race today. But I think running with the Toyota 7 would be a huge advantage to the Le Mans type cars.
