Thanks for the new pics Joe and Ko and the updated one Dylan. I will get them up tomorrow. I will also lighten them up some!

Don't worry @tezgm99, I educated him. Start practicing the NSX at Suzuka 2014 now because that sucker will bite you.

@jobyone, my cars are shared:

I'm very tempted to buy the T300 RS now that my G27 is acting up. The only problem with that is once PCARS drops next month I'll never come back to GT6.

At least then I would have a wheel that worked on both PS3 and PS4.

Ok...a couple of minor changes for the last two weeks of the season. The BMW and NSX will run on Very Fast wear setting.

Also, on race nights I will try to have the room open at 9pm. I will start the 10 min qualifier at 9:30pm promptly.

This means that after two 40 min races we should be done by 11:15pm ish each night. Which is good.

I know some of you may not be used to this if you run the RCS/TCS, but we run with Mics ON. We try to keep it light and fun. We don't talk MUCH but we do tend to make remarks during fun or stressful (or both) moments during the race. It's not constant banter, but there will be some. So if you want complete silence then plan accordingly by muting us out ;) We won't be offended.

IF the room starts to fill up (yay) and we see that having mics on deteriorates the quality of racing then we will change the settings later.

Looking forward to week one starting next Sunday!

Cars are on share and the colour is called night shade.

Edit: will attempt the qualy after getting something to eat and before the 'nucks game tonight.

Definitely better, but maybe a little gray. Are you using photoshop to edit them? If so, using a curves adjustment layer might help.

yea I am using photoshop so will give that a try. I will check them on my wifes color corrected monitor.

You guys might see me around again soon...
While this is a bit of a formality I am asking everyone do the following in order to be signed up officially:

Application Procedure
Please post the following information in the thread
  • GTPlanet ID
  • PSN ID
  • Racing Number – Refer to Driver List (Active & Retired Drivers) for Available Numbers.
  • Car Color - Body and Wheel colors (paint chip name) you plan to use.
  • By submitting your application you agree to the GTP OLR along with following The Good Racecraft Guide.
  • Only Complete driver applications per the above will be accepted for securing a spot in the series
  • While not required we do request that you share the car for the next race in your community section in the color combination you will be running. This should include your number if available on the car.
Think of it as an entrance exam;)

@jobyone

I've been doing a little experimentation, and I have a feeling you're going to have trouble getting those images to show the colors very accurately. I was trying to get tezgm99's image to look purple and it's very difficult. The quality of these web images is not so great, unfortunately. The purple "information" just isn't there, which is a shame. I don't know why PD chose to display our cars in such a dull, color-flattening environment. You may have to consider adding swatches to the images to show the intended color to better identify the cars.

You planning to do a picture of every car, @jobyone? I'm almost considering taking pictures of my cars in daylight and sending them to you. Maybe the images you've got could be defaults but those who send one in have a unique picture. Something akin to this:

Heck, I could take pictures for everyone that was in the practice on Sunday, if you like. Up to you really. I'm not sure how much effort you want to put into this, but it's a cool idea and you have my support.

The key is making things easy on me. I do not have the time to take identical pictures in the correct color for every car:(

Now if you are volunteering to take on the task of creating the images that would be awesome! Let me know if that is the case and if you want to be the Spotter Co-Ordinator!

I would think the challenge is that we use a different car each week unlike the rcs spotter guide that uses the same car all season

As long as I can easily grab or be provided images I can create them very quickly. It the Painting, photo, export on the PS3 I do not have the time for.

I doubt if I'll be able to help every week, but since I've got recorded replays for all four of Sunday's races, I can get pictures of everyone that participated. Then you can use the one's you've already worked on for those who didn't turn up. That's sort of how it works in real life I imagine. The one I posted above must have used photos from earlier races or events.

Plus that might encourage more people to show up for practice. :D

I'll send some pics your way tonight, you can decide what you want to do.

Maybe everyone should just pic a really bright color;)

I might switch to Ruf "Yellow Bird" Yellow (or whatever it is called).

- So, the original DTC (4 cars, 4 drivetrains) runs on Sundays, right? What about GGG's inspired 40 minutes races?
- Original colors are only for this second event, right?
- Is JoeW still one big 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬:gtpflag:?

Schmiggs. The original DTC will only run after the season ends for the new event. So March 15 is the next time we run the Original DTC. The New DTC Series starts this sunday and runs for 4 weeks. I will try to update the OP to make this more clear.
Don't forget to follow the application procedure if you want to take place.

Joby, I'm gonna tell you what's going on. I'm in the middle of another verbal war with the snail system and they're usual bs that everyone widely knows. Some people over there drive me nuts and I'm the the verge of simply tell them to 🤬! The problem is the fine people that also races there and the fact that I like to race them. I haven't make a decision yet and it really sucks that your awesome series runs on the sundays too.
I'll be in touch.

I think that for now the ease of using the shared car image out weighs the downside. If we find a volunteer to take pics of everyones car in the same location then lets do that for now lets stick with the easy solution. I will try to brighten them up a bit more for the final guide.

@dylansan what would be cool is if you would take some pictures from practice and post them!

Schmiggz, This seems to be a common occurrence for you:( While you are welcome to partake in this I do expect you to be respectful of everyone both on and off the track. If you do join us I hope that you stick around unlike last time when you stormed off.

Remember if you want to join you need to follow the Application Procedure. I have also updated the OP to make it a bit more clear about what is on the schedule so to speak. It is a work in progress still (as are most things around here right now)
