Tuesday's upcoming races - #530
Latest race results - #527
Calendar/Schedule etc - #1

I should be good for Tuesday.👍

I had hoped to make Saturday, but only got home from a fireworks display at 8pm. Then I had to put my daughter to bed, and sort some other things out and suddenly it was 10pm!

I'm not so sure about having competition though! I've been quite enjoying my time trials battling only against the clock!

Ban has been lifted

Up until now towards the end of post #1 there have been a sort of "rule" in place
where wings and roofs (tops) has been forbidden.

I recently started wondering why I did that. Because I thought it looked best without them.
That's a very selfish way of going about it so from now on, just as the numbers and
fonts on the cars have been optional, the choice of using wings/roofs is free choice and up
to the driver.
I have altered post #1 to make this clear for the future and new drivers.
A diverse grid is a better grid 👍

The Fonz approves;

Ah, the return of Dusty. That'll give lpbomg someone to race against

I shouldn't worry about that. You don't usually see the competition. ;)

There's no hope for us mere mortals now. :D

Are wings with jet engines slung underneath allowed?

From what I've heard Dusty's pretty safe. I'll be racing gk for 2nd I think! Good to see roofs(rooves?) and wings allowed - I'll get myself a second Z8 for some of the races. I'll swap cars in between. Either way, I'm not sure if I can make tomorrow's race. Work.

Hello chaps. The label on this thread says open, does that mean I could possibly jump in tomorrow. I'm sure Dusty would vouch for me (no, I'm nothing like as quick as him).

Cheers, Zo. (And if I can join, is there a max use of 'limiter'? I hate making the power curve a flat top, but it does make for better performance, unfortunately.)

That's not very good english.

Yes, it's fine as long as they are branded with the BMW logo.

Careful you don't jinx yourself.

Hello, Zo. You're very much welcome and there really is only one thing to keep in mind and that is 500pp. How you get there is completely up to you.
If you have the time you could give the first post a looksie. Looking forward to seeing what your Z8 will look like :)

In a PP limited race you're probably better off using as few power tuning parts as possible. The BHP boost will make up for the poor torque and spikey power band more than you'd think.

And Jocke - If I were gonna jinx myself I'd probably have gone and done it already - coming last in every race on Saturday :D

Thanks Jocke, I'll get the sedative out to calm the wife down, and crank my motor up.

I'll fiddle around with some paint jobs and see if I can come up with something complimentary to the Z8s unique looks, but I'm no artist. I'm definitely not sticking a wing on it, that's for sure, and I don't even know how to put the lid up.

Roll on tomorrow!

Cheers, Zo.

I can vouch for Zolon, a very safe fast driver. It will be good to have you with us mate.

As far as setups go, I have no secrets!

Reduce weight rather than increase power. Increasing power improves acceleration and top speed, reducing weight improves acceleration, top speed, braking and cornering. It's a no brainer for me!

Maximum weight reduction, then reduce power limiter to 500pp. I haven't added any engine parts.

I've fitted Fully customisable suspension, but all I have adjusted is the camber and tow. All set to 0.00. Every thing else is default.

My gearbox is nothing special, just final drive 3/4 the way up, max speed slider to minimum, then first gear all the way to left, sixth gear all the way to right, then space the others out evenly looking at the graph. Then adjust final drive to get the required top speed. My setting can definatly be improved, but I haven't bothered to try!

My diff is set at 5 18 15. I started with braking set to 5, but increased to 15 as it was too loose on corner entry.

This is how I set my car for the first race I did with you guys and I haven't changed it since, apart from final drive to suit circuit. It is very oversteery, but that's how I like it!:D

See you tonight,

Dusty.

Cheers Dusty, it'll be nice to see you disappearing into the second corner, and then.............. gone. You've convinced me on the motor side of things, I'll not pep it up, and the suspension is as it comes out of the box, I can't seem to understand PDs physics. Still don't know how to put my roof up, but I'm not sure I want to, they look very cool with it down.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers, Zo.

The roof is in the 'others' section of the aero parts.

I would disagree, your meaning was clear.
Thanks, Mallet. The way I constructed that sentence just felt wrong.

The roof is in the 'others' section of the aero parts.
I'll have a fiddle with it, I just can't resist having a fiddle every now and then.

See you tonight 👍

I should be good for Tuesday.👍
This grid has all the ingredients to become epic.

My car for tonight will be a tribute to Rocky Balboa and it is ready for 12 hard rounds against you all;

This soundtrack is just great for feeling like you can beat anyone on track. :)

Hello chaps, thanks for the racing last night, I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to putting in the time to try and climb up the rankings a little next Tuesday, if possible.

With that in mind, do you know where the races are next Tuesday please? (And, just as importantly, where the hell is the pit entrance?!)

Cheers, Zo. (BTW, full damage, brilliant! I really wish losing it wasn't an option, I'm sure the standard of racing would improve across all GT6 if it was compulsory.)

I think because we do races on Saturday as well, we won't find out next Tuesday's tracks until after Saturday. It's normally a couple of days advance.

Cheers lb, I'll wait until next week then, just do some general hammering around with the motor to get the hang of it, it I a belting car.

Zo.
