Turnaround race?

Hi guys sorry I was going to hold a casual event but being a bank holiday I knew I wouldn't be home in time but if no else in GBRC organises an event I will be holding something next Sunday.
If there is a repeat of rally cars in the C.Club I will be there.

I'm up for a repeat of last week, or perhaps similar, but different tracks? I don't know if the road one is available in reverse, but Toscana is. Maybe we could do that?

Whatever, I'll definitely be on Tuesday night.

Cheers, Zo.
Toscana certainly is available in reverse. That's how we raced it last week. :)
So forwards would be the way to mix things up.

It's looking very unlikely that I'll be on tomorrow night. :(

Providing Jocke doesn't mind us using his club lobby, I'll open a room around the usual CC club time. I can probably run it a little earlier if anyone wants it?

Since everyone's got them already we'll use the rally cars again to the same spec that Jocke has set out in post number 2.

How's this sound for a schedule?

10 to 15 minute races depending on the track and number of people.

Race 1/ Eiger Nordwand short track. Weather unsettled - expect rain! Fast tyre wear. 10-15 min?

Race 2/ Trial mountain reverse. Dry. Vfast tyre wear. 15 min?

Race 3/ Eiger Norwand G Trail reverse. Dry. Gravel. Fast tyre wear. 15 min?

And if anyone's up for it...
Race 4/ Chamonix Mini. Snow! Tyre wear - well it's snow. (Short track should be fun) 10 min?

Might hold qualifying for race 1. Depends on time and again the number of people. Otherwise I might just go for it. :)

At the moment, this is all that's in post number 2.

Unless it's just a failure to load on my end, the poster with last week's specs has been removed.
It shouldn't matter because, as you say, everyone has their cars from last week.
They were 2 litre, 4WD, rally cars.
I'm just pointing it out in case @JockeP22 or anybody else has the image saved & fancies re-posting it for reference.

Hope you don't mind me posting these pics in your thread @JockeP22. However as the CC was originally Z8 I thought it would be ok...?

Went to the Bond in Motion exhibit in London. It was the Z8 that got me snapping and I got a few more iconic bond vehicles. The screens behind are also showing a clip with the cars.

These are only a few from the 30 or so pics I took. ;)

Little Nellie coming to GT7 - complete with flying missions. :)

Our club lobby. ;)
Thanks Jocke. I thought it impolite not to ask.

an hour earlier would suit me just fine
I'll try and get on as soon as I can. Depending on who's there we can start early or run at a few other tracks until the proper time. Or do the complete thing twice! Play it by ear.

I updated the thread title, Paul.

Hope you don't mind me posting these pics
Thanks for the pics, suts.

"Little Nellie": You Only Live Twice
'This can only be for children, take my helicopter Bond-san.' :)

I watched the Bond films all the time growing up. Almost one every day after coming home from school between ~1995-98. Watching each one multiple times. My mother just shook her head saying 'are you watching this again?'

I couldn't get enough of them and I remember I even edited together all of the Q scenes from the first seventeen or eighteen films onto VHS.

I personally think they replaced Brosnan too soon. Craig's not bad but Brosnan wanted to do one or two more, it was the producers who thought he was too old.

Thanks Pail and Zolon for tonight, once again really enjoyed it thanks gents.
In practice thought I was getting used to the gravel and snow but driving blind in the dust or snow is something I'm struggling with so hats off to the fast guys that seem to have radar.
Thanks Suts for waiting after we touched in the snow it was unavoidable with all of us driving sideways great fun though.
Cheers

Really good fun racing tonight with all of you.
Thanks Zolon and Paul for hosting.
:cool::)

Thanks Suts for waiting
No worries. Least I could do.

Whoever gets out in the lead definitely has an advantage as trying to race behind the dust / snow / spray is hard work. :odd::eek:
Only reason I got a win at eiger. Also probably helped by changing to my usual rally car, the Mitsubishi lancer.

Look forward to whatever Jocke has planned next?!?👍

BW all

Tuesday, September 8th
20:00 GMT

Race #1 - Nurburgring GP/F
Alpine VGT (not the Race Mode version)
Stock + Oil
Power Limiter 80%
Comfort Softs

Race #2 - Red Bull Ring (full)
VW Roadster VGT
Stock + Oil
Comfort Softs

Qualifying: 6 minutes
Race: Nurburgring 25 minutes / Red Bull Ring 15 minutes
Fuel/Tyre Consumption: Very Fast
Aids: ABS + Driving Line
Weather: Sunny
Grip/Slipstream: Real

I didn't race last week because things are changing at work and fast.
Starting the week after next my workplace will have moved to out-
side the city and my commute and days will be much longer.

I wouldn't be able to run a club the way I would like so that's why
it'll be the last C Club evening this coming Tuesday.
The future is still un-written though, who knows what tomorrow will
bring.

Not the end of the world. I will join in with gk's daily Japanese lobby,
Mik's Mini's and the Grumpy GBRC boys when I can.

I am also quite looking forward to maybe seeing a Nitro Kei Car Club come to life Paul. ;)
And maybe a Premium Club bergele. ;)
And just maybe a bb Club buybon. ;)

Jocke

Your clubs have been excellent fun and your vision for different types of races and cars has been amazing!!💡

Therefore it's very fitting to end the CC on Vision cars. I would never do justice to a club or regular racing event but a vision racing club or tournament would be something id love to join.

I'm going to try out the GTP TTs as well as trying to join the minis and GBRC whenever possible.

It does feel like GT6 era is coming to an end. :guilty:

All the best with the new job move and commute. Here's to real life and the ability to escape it occasionally. ;)

BW and see u Tuesday.

Jocke, I locked up the O'boy & touge school today too. I know you'd already graduated early. ;)
idea-007.gif

You've all done very well.
School's out.

Happy graduation!

See you on the track. 👍
:gtpflag:
There certainly are still people playing but as things wind down slowly, the decent folks may need to group together more so the clubs don't all thin out too much.

Chaps, I have loved GT since the moment I set eyes on it, and have been a fan of comfort tyres since they were called eco tyres. And I have never enjoyed the game more than I have during the past few months, racing in company with Jocke's band of brothers.

It would be a travesty, in my opinion, if this specific group was to evaporate followings Jocke's change of circumstances (which I sincerely hope are to his personal advantage, by the way).

To this end I would like to propose the setting up of a club, to be known as Jocke's Mates, within the community section, and probably an associated new thread on GTP. The objective being, to continue the Tuesday racing with a varied and imaginative programme such as we have enjoyed recently.

Those in favour say AYE! And we'll see what we can do.

I'd just like to go on and say, a massive thank you to Jocke for bringing us all together in the first place, no matter what happens, my Tuesdays are not going to be he same when he's not there :(.

Cheers, Zo.

Me too, suts.
A VGT series is something that is missing and no one seems to be planning for one either.
I wanted to start something like that and had many ideas of how to do it but it got too big every time
I put it on paper.

My preference would have been to do it as a one-make series, everybody would race the same VGT once
a week with a new car being used each time. The points system would reward participation, qualifying times
and race laps rather than just the usual race finish positions. I even tested the VGT's and experimented on what
tyres would be best suited (Paul helped some too), ranging from comfort softs to the three sports compounds.
No racing tyres. ;)

Races would have been half an hour with very fast tyre depletion and fuel consumption and all other
settings set to match real life.

But with Bugatti and Hyundai arriving imminently and many others set to follow (Audi, Daihatsu,
Ford, GM, Honda, Lamborghini, Tesla) the series would look at thirty weeks minimum in length and that
wouldn't be very practical.
It would probably be a record, though.

One idea could be to use more than one car per week or not use all of the VGT's,
but to me it would have to be all of them or it wouldn't be worth doing at all. :)

Wish you luck
It is a shame
it's very fitting to end the CC on Vision cars
It's been nice to race with you all
Thanks everyone. I send the same compliments right back out to you.

Chaps, I have loved GT since the moment I set eyes on it..
Thank you Zolon. I never got to be around during the GT5 era but that was all made up for and then some
thanks to the friends I found in GT6.
My experience here proves you can find great people online. It has been something quite special to find so many great
like-minded people this past year.
Others aren't so lucky (I see many negative experiences from reading the forums).

I know you'd already graduated early.
Aye, with honors from the Headmaster himself.

So guys, to cope with the infinite sadness I have been experiencing for missing on BOTH rally nights.
I decided to set a TT event with the same regs in my ex-Caterham7 club now called the Dodgy TT club. Same cars as Jocke's comfortable rally, feel free to join and set your marks.

Cheers.

It's been a blast everyone, I remember when I first joined the z8 club and could not possibly imagine how good it would be to get to know all of you furious bunch. I feel honored and grateful to have been able to be part of Jocke's racing society and to have learnt so much from you guys.

I'll be going back to Paris to visit family on Friday and will stay there for a month. Now, the wifey is very happy I will be away from online racing for the whole month...
Little does she know I subscribed to PSN plus to be able to access my garage from my brothers' ps3...
