I have a suggestion, don't drive off the track!💡

You think if an lmp going 180mph gets a tire off track that they just steer right back on track? You guys crack me up sometimes:P

try, @ 70mph, and try, i've put two off more times than i can count in real life, never have i been pulled off the track like a magnet was pulling me, especially on a straight. just saying, the **** isn't anywhere close to real.

My biggest issue last night was not realizing Neil was going like 50mph on the starting grid at race 2 :banghead:
(Well, and that scary moment early in race 1 when i messed up and missed the braking at the end of mulsanne pt1. So lucky i missed you RO and Bionic i think it was. Luckily only i got the bad end of that error)
Yeah, unfortunately that start to race 2 took several of us out of contention. I glanced over at the couple of guys who pulled off to the side to let all of us by, then when I focused back to what was happening directly in front of me, I saw a couple of ghosted cars (ramming penalties I assume), and then other cars slowing up suddenly. It was too late for me. I couldn't get on the brakes in time and ended up running into the back of Racing, damaging his engine and ruining his race. :guilty:

I had a blast though otherwise. I love that track and those cars drove surprisingly well. And an almost full room! Loved it. Thanks for letting me race guys.

Sidenote:
Some of us need to learn about track boundries and maybe reread the OLR again (good racecraft) (guidelines). It's always good to do a refresher.
Sure you can go wide at Tertre Rouge and go faster down the mulsanne straight. Doesn't mean you SHOULD. That isnt part of the track; all that concrete is there for safety reasons IRL

ok, so here's a video. the camera car is starting 4th, i'm starting 6th right behind him. after turn 1, i pass him and get into 2nd in the light blue #85. i put 2 off several times, but the car does not shoot directly to the grass like in the game.

real driving is way easier than the game. can't feel anything or sense where you're at entirely. that being said, i'm rusty as it's been a few months. i used to be able to do a whole race without one mistake. hoe well.

*did not have the Audi, therefore raced the Viper again (a multiclass race! :D)
**ran racing hards instead of softs
***not a Turtle member, but ran well

A great turnout for Le Mans Racing at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe! Lots of good battling and changes for position, a couple of close finishes, and of course, inevitable frustration (especially for some of us at the beginning of race 2 ). Overall, three very competitive, good, clean, fun races. Congrats to all the winners! 👍

After my upsetting performance with the Viper, I proceeded to take it and win 3 of the S Class races with it just to prove to myself that I *could* handle the damn thing just fine

For what it's worth, I tend to agree with Lightning with how the grass handles in this game... I've been slowly adapting to it, and am starting to figure out exactly how to handle myself if I *think* I may touch some grass... but I can't even say how many times I've spun out for what at the time I thought was absolutely no reason only to check the replay and notice that I got half of one tire off (I partly blame the fact that I always run in bumper cam for this, since you can't really tell how wide your car is.)

I was on the Nurb in a 280Z, about 100 mph on CS tires, put two in the grass, but it was really easy to get back on the road. And yes, the grip reduction setting was on real.

I'm guessing your speed is what's important. Going off really slows you down, so it creates grip/drag on that side and pulls you off harder the faster you go. Just a guess.

Due to the special class races both occurring this weekend in FLEX and Enduro, the FLEX race has been pushed back. That way those wanting to race in both won't have to exhaust themselves running two 1 1/2 hour races back-to-back evenings. Phish is planning to host FLEX Friday night. Who knows what he has up his sleeve. :D

Apparently there's no more speedcap off-road because of the patch, so the pull shouldn't be as severe anymore.

I thought I noticed something different last night... I was just in slower cars (going for my 100%) so I thought "hey... maybe Derp was right and the grass is only homicidal to high powered FR/MR cars."

Honestly, I was kinda looking forward to back-to-back Enduros :dopey:

Ok, so sorry for Triple posting... (actually I'm not sorry, they're multi-topic) but I know @Ph1sher and others start bouncing the whole "Multi-class" race idea after last week's Le Mans in which @GT_Racer22 used the Viper again when he didn't have the TDI...

I just had a thought... of running say a Flex in which the room is divided into 3 groups, each group is a different class... and then each group cycles through the classes for each race. This way each driver drives in each class... the points are accumulated based on overall performance as it pertains to each class.

Alternatively, a similar idea could work for Enduro except use just 2 classes, divide the room in half, and have them switch for the second race. (This would be slightly less confusing than managing 3 groups.)

This may be a little complicated at first, but I think people will be able to figure it out with minimal amount of frustration so long as the steward took clear command and let everyone know exactly what is going on.

(Been watching iRacing multi-class championship races today at work so it's got me thinking about it.)

@Ph1sher so we're not using Falcons tonight? Anything specific we should be bringing or making sure we have in our garage?

(this wouldn't be a quadruple post if other people were talking :P )

wait, what? not doing the V8 supercar tonight? I was just thinking i needed to turn a few laps in it before this evening in case i can make it...

Dolph pushed it back a week because we have the 90 80 lapper in Enduro tomorrow.

When the Le Mans races got pushed back, the Bathurst enduro got pushed back, too...coincidentally on the same race weekend as the Enduro enduro :P, as gr8racrs just mentioned. Otherwise, the Bathurst enduro would have been last week, and this week would have been the first of a new, updated schedule (which is being worked on). I felt like the turnout for one of the races would probably suffer this week if there were two enduros on back-to-back nights. Too many worn out Turtles.

I've been suggesting Formula GT funsies, but apparently everyone's too poor.

I keep meaning to ask... does anyone know if the FGT is a reward for anything? That's the only reason I haven't bought it yet... I keep assuming that I can just win it and save the creds.
