@JJSpeed just show up yo! :) sometime in the next day or so hsaxet will post results. At that time I will open up the track selection process. See the link in my sig for more information how that works.

I hope everybody had a good time combined with some good close racing last night. On a personal note im pretty stoked to not only get my first pole, but to nab a triple (pole, win, fastest lap) as well. Kinda bummed I let the grand slam slip away on lap one, but maybe more experience and confidence in the future will help me earn one if those. :)

Except for the chicane at Cape Ring Inside. Close yes, I'll have to look at the replay to determine the cleanliness.
It was fun racing with you all. There was a lot of close and clean racing! I look forward to doing it again.

Hsa were you the one that either lost it in the chicane or got taken out at the chicane? If so I wanted to check the replay as well. I was behind that person and I don't think I touched them but saved the replay to verify. Gosh I hope not.

Edit: looks like I didn't have any contact with you once getting into the chicane. Looking through the replay it looks like when people were side by side in other areas of the track everyone did a great job. In the chicane I didn't see any poor sportsmanship, but when people went in side by side it looks like many times both parties or at least one wouldn't adjust the speed and line accordingly and some contact would result. I also could have been smarter to just drop behind people instead of trying to go in side by side a couple times. I still feel like this is a great group to drive with.

Ya when going through that chicane stuck two wide it was damn near impossible to not touch, and me being on the outside ended up in the grass, but I still managed a sixth place lol

You just have to take a different line which in this case is a slower line by a good amount, and that didn't seem to always happen. There was a lot of close moments and those races could have been anyone's.

From my understanding, but take it for what it's worth, I'm just a new guy:
It comes down to line ownership and racing etiquette. If the passer gets even (side by side) with the passee in most types of racing they both have rights to their own line but that means not pinching the other out at either entrance, apex, or exit. So if wanted both people can go through the turn side by side if they leave room for the other. Some types of turns such as the chicane the other night it could just be faster for either or both if one person drop behind the other and single file through the turn or turns. However that is a choice for both and as long as neither pinches the other out then if you don't have to slow down to leave room then you shouldn't. Of course this is if you get up to (side by side) the passee prior to turn.

Now if the passer doesn't get up to a line ownership point prior to the turn then the passer needs to let the first person have their line and speed of choice. Many series and leagues say you must get your nose up to the doors of the car you are passing prior to the turn, some want you to get just about even with them. Me I just try to play it safe and will back off unless I'm even.

This is just what I have seen, but I am happy to race with whatever guidelines you guys have for determining passing and line ownership. Correct me on anything I may be wrong about, I'm here to have some fun racing and learn/improve racecraft. I sincerely hope I didn't do anything that bothered anyone.

Did you pass me ??? or merely stuff it up the inside and hope to out brake me and take THE only line through there ??? Not only that, but you did it earlier in the race. I raced and tuned karts professionally for 15 yrs and online here for a it 3, that was an amerture move at best but that's cool. Racing is racing, I'll just know we stand next time. Good win.

I did not pass you, but I also did not stuff it up the inside either. I was side by side with you prior to the braking zone. From my understanding that should be okay. I do admittedly have minimal knowledge of what areas real life karting etiquette differs from that of cars. So if that was wrong I apologize. It was good racing with you.

That's pretty cool that you raced and tuned professionally. What types of karts did you run? Lately I have been looking at the possibility of getting a clone kart to get into karting. It definitely looks like a lot of fun.

Slalom, being a S.N.A.I.L league we not only encourage the embracement of S.N.A.I.L etiquette, but expect it. I have not seen the replay, so I will not comment on the actual incident other than one would expect to treat the situation differently if it were lap 1 rather than 1 lap to go. Also, since I'm on the topic of S.N.A.I.L etiquette I will politely remind EVERYBODY that S.N.A.I.L strongly discourages discussion of racing incidents in the open forum. This post is for EVERYONE.

@HSAXET

Unfortunately I am unable to race next week due to work, so I will kindly defer track selection to the next person in line or person of your choosing.

Thanks again everyone for the close, clean racing... Hopefully I can make it back in two weeks time.

That was my bad. Was watching the replays and got all hot headed again. No big deal. Sorry for my public rant. It was a good night of racing.

No worries, it was some fun, close racing. I look forward to doing it again. How do the gt6 karts compare to some of the real things? I've had the chance to try out a few types of karts but my experience was limited and quite some time ago, so I'm curious to your thoughts on them.

Selection

Road-Indianapolis Road Course

Unfortunate for you fine sir, I'm greedy for small tracks and already used up the "open" selection which is the only option for Indy Road. ( I promise not to be greedy too often) H picked an intermediate so we still have an opening for a short (<1.5 mile) track. However, since we're in Senna karts this week we need a wet track in lieu of our standard speedway race. No size limitation, as long as it's a weather track.

We road raced 125cc shifter CR125 motors. Tuned for some SKUSA drivers on the Promoto tour. Which were short tracks usually set in parking lots or street courses. You don't get the true feel of the kart under you. But they're close. Wish we had more chassis adjustment.

Selection

Red Bull Ring short track. If the Red Bull ring short track isn't eligible for a pick because it isn't on the forum list, then i will pick Eigar Nordwand forward Short track with weather. If Red Bull Ring short track is acceptable, then i will stay with that one.

So the Red Bull Ring is our rain track ??? Gonna do some testing on the rain settings.

No, no. Red Bull Ring Short will qualify as our "short track". I'm pretty sure that's under a mile and a half. I didn't look. I need to make a list actually (tracks by length) to make it easier for folks to choose. I'll get on that this weekend sometime. Anywho...

We still need a wet track to wrap up the evening. Anybody who hasn't already selected?

I meant the short track. Forgot to type it. But that's the one we want to rain, right ???

I suppose that'll do. One less track to practice :)

I ran a 15 min race. Started at 0% surface water. Finished with 20%. Not too slick. Should be fun if the model holds true. Practice, practice , practice....

If possible can someone post what the gear settings will be for the senna kart on each track or preferred gearing thank you.
