I am sneaky...I have several options this week. When I start practicing tomorrow night I will know better what to choose.

Definitely I am running FF and 4WD together and FR and MR together. So no copy/paste for me ;)

FF and MR will likely be my lower limit cars.
I think same thing is going to happen here.
I don't think I ever spent so much time planning a FREAKING SERIOUS COMPETITIVE set up as I did today ending up with 3 different combos... Now the problem is choosing one of them as THE ONE

MR, FR and 4WD are my lower and FF is High. Go figure that one out.
Actually hard to understand as, as far as I know, the highest pp FF car in the game has what? 465/470 pp? That Citroen rally car? Unless there's an FF beast out there that I'm not aware of.

Well this is weird. Isn't it usually at the bottom right in the menu screen? At least that's where it is when I join someone else's room.
You could just accept my FR on PSN and i could join via friends' rooms...are you saying you can't find the room number ? What track are you at I'll search that way.

I accepted your friend request, check to see if it shows up in your lobby.

Looks like I can't join. Bummer.

If you ever figure out the room number let me know

Room is full. Failed to join. Any chance you can remake the room ? It seems to be broken

Here's how to fix this.

If Dan sent a FR while in his own room, you both need to back out to XMB menu in order to join each other's friends only rooms.

I've restarted my entire PS3 multiple times guys. You sure make it tough for a guy wanting to race to get into the room. I just spent 45 mins trying to get in. So forget it, there's plenty of other rooms out there.

No....Dan needs to back out to XMB. Any FR sent in game don't take effect for "FR only" rooms until you get out to XMB and get back in.

Ahh, that's what happens. See I don't have any friends, so I'm not used to dealing with this. Good to know for next time. Thanks Joe

Hey @jobyone and everyone else. Dan and I was talking about some things over practice tonight and thought I would share it with ya.

What if the guy that finished (2nd, 3rd, or 4th) got to pick a track for the next week. Here is how it would work.

The winner gets to pick the PP.
Second place gets to pick the qualifying track.
3rd, 4th and 5th get to pick the 2nd, 3rd and 4th track for the next week.

This would allow everyone to pick a lineup according to the tracks. Then we wouldn't have a bad track / car combo like last week.

Thoughts?

I liked this because when I am practicing, I can pick my qualifying car and be ready for the track that it will go on. I have it all set up for that race. When I get to Round 2, 3, and 4, it's a bit difficult because I haven't been able to plan out the car that I would have picked for that track. The advantage here is that you could design your car selections to the track. However, this is also a disadvantage as there is less thinking on your toes and maybe some here come for that aspect and we would have to consider that.

As a beginner, this works better for me for my perspective because, the difficulty I've had is that I don't know the courses as well as someone more experienced. I'm sort of learning the course during the race :).

PP of the Subaru Cusco dunlop impreza 08 is wrong, the pp after oil change is 514
I fixed that in the spreadsheet, thanks for letting us know. The number on the spreadsheet was the GT5 PP for that car so if you see any others just post and we can change it.

I think this is my final line-up but I may get a little more testing in today after work.

FF - Honda Civic Type R '01 420pp
MR - Opel Speedster '00 410pp

FR - Mazda BP Falken RX-7 '03 525pp
4WD - Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evo II Rally '86 548pp

As for Ken and Dan's idea, I'd be willing to give that a try. It is always easier when you can prepare for the tracks, but I think when Joby created this he put that in as part of the challenge.

You must be PSN friends with Ice_Warden to enter the room. Do not wait until 10pm/7pm to send out the request as both parties must be in the XMB menu for it to work properly.

So previously the motivation for winning was to pick the following race. If this went into effect then you'd get nothing but points. The next track would chosen by a points winner from the week before?

So all the tracks are known in advance? But I assume the track choices by the points winners aren't revealed until the last second? Otherwise everyone gets to prepare for all the races...which would go against the idea of choosing a well rounded combo.

Maybe you guys can explain your vision in the room tonight so we all understand how the night would go.

Hmmm, I don't agree with that either. I love this competition most for the challenges it has that goes from car choices to the strategy you're pulling in acording to those choices and knowing the tracks in advance it's gonna bring a lot of predictability. I really like the fact that you can win not only because of your driving skills but becausee your strategy and the way you managed your set up were spot on. Thats what makes DTC so difgerent and so special

I'm leaning toward Joe and Schmiggz here, but I am still not 100% sure I understand Dan and Ken's idea so I look forward to discussing this tonight.

Winner picks the track vs Pre-determined tracks. Hmmm...

In other news, this week's Reasonably Priced DTC line-up is brought to you by the new (posthumous) album by Dr. Ron James Dio and the Tsukuba Divers titled "It's not Dive-bombing if you Yell 'Dive-Bomb' Right Before you Do It."
