Okay. So much choice left up to the user. I'm not used to that. I enjoy spec racing a lot more because I don't have to think and make these decisions lol

You don't have to think. You can just pick four cars that have the right drivetrain and the right pp and show up and race. That's what I do most of the time and I still have fun.

For your first night, I recommend choosing a car of each drivetrain that you are comfortable using. Don't forget, each race is 15+ minutes with tire wear on fast.

My best advice for anyone in this series is to pick cars that you can keep on the track and keep control of. Even if they aren't the fastest, you will have more fun and be less likely to ruin yours or anyone else's night.

If I am looking at the sign-up sheet correctly, there are still plenty of slots open? If so, count me in and I will get my car list up as soon as possible, thank you!

I will add you to the drivers list so you can select your name in the signup. make sure to get a friend request in to Ice_Warden and Koszak27

Also make sure to have fun.

I was thinking of switching the lower PP MR to a 4WD and having that be a race car but the only MR race car in that area is the NSX GT500 and that's hard to handle.

That is one of the challenges of the series. Finding cars to fit.

Okay, so my new order is

MR - Honda NSX GT500
FR - Mazda RX-8 Concept LM Race Car
4WD - Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione
FF - Renault Sport Clio R.S.

Last two may switch based on track choice but I'm starting with the NSX to get it out out of the way lol.

My line up is in the spreadsheet. I picked four cars and didn't test because I went and watched my daughter win her first high school tennis match.

FR - HSV-010GT Base Model
AWD - Skyline GT-R R32 TC
FF - Kusabi concept
MR - MR2 G-Limited '97

I was experimenting a bit with DNS settings and now it seems I can't connect to the room. If I can't figure it out I won't be racing tonight.

I was expecting racing hards when you said racing cars. I knew the original post said sports softs but when I saw later you guys said only race cars, I thought that means racing hards only.

We have only run Racing tires once I think. One of the core things I wanted to do when I started this league was to keep things on normal tires and focus more on road cars than race cars. There are tons of leagues that focus on race cars.

Last night's results:
@JoeW - 58
@Kgffy - 57 (2 1st place finishes breaks tie for 2nd overall)
@Nicktune - 57
88GTA - 50
@dylansan - 48
@kendawg - 46
@JLBowler - 45
@Biebs74 - 40
@DesertPenguin09 - 8

@jobyone
Joe says the PP for next week will be 1755 with no split (sports mediums).

@Kgffy
You are up on the track choice. Many people will be gone for the long weekend so if you could decide sooner than later it would help us get some seat time before Tuesday.

I think I had 58 and then Nic and kg had 57.

I was cracking up last night listening to everyone, really enjoyed that, the racing...not so much, lol. It wasn't much fun driving by myself way in the back all four races, you guys are clearly out of my league.

It takes time to figure out cars. Practice, practice, practice.

As Ken says it does take some time to work it out. Choosing good cars helps but practice is key. This is a pretty chilled group and a good place to get help.

Last night really showcased how different cars are suited to different tracks.

Nic pulls out a 6 sec lead in the car with the lowest PP on the track. His car was 551pp and he just killed it (until he made a couple of mistakes and his tires went south). I was in a car with 46pp more than his and he just walked away. He gave me the win in the last couple of minutes but the race was his to lose.

Choose your cars wisely and drive consistently and you shall be rewarded.

Of course practice, can't argue with that. To me though, looking at fastest laps last night, I was 4 seconds off fast lap at the first track, it's like looking at the seasonal TTs. I can get the gold fairly easy on all of them, but I am nowhere near the record times, same thing with the races last night. And that's a compliment to all of you guys, by the way :) I think that some guys just aren't as fast as others (just ask Felipe Massa, hahaha!). Never say never though, I will keep plugging away and this was my first event, and last minute at that. Thank you all for the good time, definitely had a good, chill, fun vibe and it does make me want to try again!

You'll be fine @Biebs74. We know our PP total early this week so pick four cars you can drive the piss out of and learn how to be fast with them. Practice in an online lobby by yourself with tire wear on fast and see how long the tires will last and where you make up time.

I don't necessarily recommend this, but I remember when I was first racing in this series, I would pick one car at the lowest possible range and three cars that were slightly above the average. That left me with three door to door races and one where I was racing myself.

Your best bet though is to stay around the average and you should always have someone to wrastle.

Wow, you guys are all awesome in my book, thanks for all the advice! Ok, I am definitely in for next week and I'll get as much practice in as I can.

Thank you for offering me to choose a new track, and I don't want to seem ungrateful by declining, but who usually gets to choose? I don't want to take it away from someone if they already won the right to choose.
