I will not be on time tonight but if I get home in time to run anything, I will. I'll be using the premium lineup from lowest PP to highest PP.

What happened to this idea bowler? I see what you did tonight. You missed the first race and then ran a line up assuming you would have ran it in a 398pp 4wd car(the lowest pp allowed for tonight). I don't know what car you would have used because I don't have a car that fits that.
It would have either been more than 398pp, putting you over the pp cap, or lower, breaking the min/max rule. This bothers me.
Is it that hard for you to lose a race? It happens to me all the time and it is not that bad, Trust me, I know, you beat me three times tonight.

I know this event is for fun but I feel this is a form of cheating.

Next weeks PP Cap is.......... (Drum Roll):scared:

1640pp :gtpflag:

*Average 410pp

*Spread 369pp - 459pp

Not to question you but this starts 1pp lower then the production FT86. I would assumed it finished out at 412pp

I'm gonna break it in tomorrow day and will report back.

My Lupo GTI Cup Car is from the OCD.

Great racing last night guys. I had some really good runs with Star and Schmiggz in the first race at Grand Valley and with XR in our FFs the 2nd race at Tokyo. Then after trying to come back from a 2nd turn spin-out at Indy Road, Schmiggz and Owens just beat me to the line, Owens by about a tenth and Schmiggz by .003 seconds. Finally at Laguna, I put on a smoke show for Handlebar who had a lot of nice moves overtaking me while we battled.

Good win Owens and I like the pp numbers for next week.

Joe,
Your French KnightRider car never ceases to amaze. Only PSN disconnects can stop it...

FT-86 II Concept '11 (409pp) NBI.

Lupo GTI Cup Car (J) '03 (381pp) Broke In. 381 PP. confirmed.

I have both, will check after Bob finishes a milk run.

LOVE the new point level. "Shopping Kart" is about my speed.

Lupo is 381
Is the Concept an '11?

Yesterday after the third race I got seventh place my game crashed. I had to go out and get back in time for the fourth race. Seen in the spreadsheet of results that were not included these points but I completed the race normally.

Yes, it is 413 broken in too. :/ dang. Needed it to be 412pp to fit my line up.

Oh well line up B.

I know this event is for fun but I feel this is a form of cheating.

The reason I went away from the original idea is that two of the cars were not broken in. I will accept my four point penalty and try not to make a mistake again.

I tried to make something on the fly and took off for 404 pp for one of the 3000gts that I would have used in the first race. I built the rest of my lineup while you guys were racing the first race. I was sitting in the garage in the lobby. The reason I ran 1774 was simply because my Integra RM was showing at 465 instead of 469. I knew the car was broken in but I was not aware the car needed an oil change already (less than 200 miles since break in and rebuild). I looked just now and it was down to 462 just from one race last night.

It was a mistake on my part and not an effort to abuse the system or cheat in any way.

I understand what you are saying. I am sorry I had such a bad attitude last night with that post but I was bothered.
I feel that If someone misses the first race they should not use the lowest pp value but the average pp value for the night for the missed race. This may stem from my tendency to run 4 cars around the average anyway.

Can anyone check there replays and see if XR showed up in your results.

Thanks

I would love for others to comment on this also but here are my thoughts.

As long as there was a car that Bowler could have run that kept him under the PP limit I think what he did was fine. I see no reason to penalize him points based on the PP of a car he may have run but did not.

His strategy would have been perfectly valid to have run 1 car at the PP minimum. In fact if he had raced in the first race and come in last it would have been enough points to end up second over all for the night. So obviously it is a good strategy (at least if you are as fast as Bowler).

I looked, there isn't another AWD (at least that I have) that I could have used at 400pp. I did my math on one at 404 (trying to get the most out of the other three) and made a mistake due to the status of my Integra. I will take my penalty of four points and learn the lesson to have a lineup ready to go and checked out ahead of time.

Make it counter productive to Min-Max points.

Baseline, plus or minus 15 points is, points.

For every point higher than +15, double the cost.

If it is 415 avg, then points 400 - 430 are as is.

Running a car below -15 returns only 1 point per point.

Each point of a car above the (415) baseline example is doubled.

So running a 380 (35 pts below baseline), a 415 (even), a 420 (+5 above), and a 435 (415 avg, +10 to 425 PP, +20 pts to get to 435).

Less incentive to high / low, more to the arithmetic mean.

Can we just leave it alone? It's super fun as it is.

There is no evidence that min/maxing nets better results than picking all your cars near the average.

With us getting more people than ever I think we will see just how close the racing can be using either strategy.

I would have to agree with Bowler. Let him run his three cars but give the 4 point penalty. He did post a line up so THAT is his line up. The line up is 4 points over.

Just goes to show. Come prepared and don't wait till the last minute. Not pointing this at you Bowler. I'm saying it for anyone.

Why is it when you get a disconnect I get one? Are trying to get into my garage?

You never gave me my keys back! I stopped by your garage to see if you were there...soo I snuck in through the window...etc etc
