Can anyone think back to some great Cap races that we could send the replays to kcheeb for him to use in the New SNAIL promo video that he is starting to work on? If so let me know the race (and battles that were good) and if you have the replay. We will sort out getting it to him later.

Thanks guys.

And on a downer I have the day off tomorrow (that is cool) but it means I will not be home in time to race. So looks like that makes 6 weeks in a row I have missed:( Hopefully I will make it next week.

Oh yeah, I have a few replays. I save them all anyway, then go through them after a while to figure out what to delete. I generally keep the ones that I had a great battle in, a spectacular crash took place or that I won :lol:

Edit: adding three replays to SugarSync as I write this. Two are from the PP Cap and the other is from the standard car Thursdays (it was a 6 lap, 380PP FWD cars only battle around a fully wet HSR....and was possibly the most fun, nervewracking race I've ever had in GT5, lol) :)

Had a great battle last week with Ken at Spa. Swapped positions and some real close racing.

Kinda scary to think how fast you could be if you had your pedals solid and introduced the left foot braking. Just keep using that left to hold pedals steady please. ;)

Yea seriously, Joe is fast as hell with one foot so I guess there is hope for me.

Line up for tonight:

FF - TRD Celica Sports M 416pp
4WD - VW Golf IV R32 430pp
FR - Mugen S2000 '00 433pp
MR - Lotus Elise 111S '03 430pp

It really does suck. The dfgt pedals are on the tile floor and just aren't secure. Sometimes they will move/rotate/slide 90 degrees one way or the other during a race and I have to try and drive and grab the top of the pedal with my toes and pull it back into place (I drive barefoot because of this). One day I am going to put some cash together for a playseat and a G27 but it just isn't in the cards right now.

I have all the Cap replays over the last few months...if someone can remember which ones were awesome then I can throw them up.

Owens...that is a seriously good looking lineup. All those cars are flawless :) Owens came to play tonight boys...

Joe go to walmart and pick up some of the cabinet drawer liners. Get the kind that have the hole in it. It will work wonders for keeping the pedals from sliding on tile. You just have to put the carpet holder down and it will grab the drawer lining and will hold the pedals really well.

Shh. Don't help him he is fast enough;)

Not racing tonight, but...

I think I can possibly still swing Performance Cap, at least sometimes, which I would like!

But for tonight... "Hail to the Redskins" will hopefully be playing frequently. ;-)

I have two lineups, but am breaking in my final car now so I won't be able to test tonight for another couple of hours to see which way to go :lol:

Chair has front legs?

My half-penny plan.... Or my idea that is worth almost that much...

Spend about $5-7 at Home Depot for one section of 1/2" PVC and a couple of L or T joints. I recommend T-joints.

Make the front bar past the edge of the front of the DFGT, Glue/epoxy/whatever the two T-joints on each end. Cut two more pieces to go from the retaining bar to a couple inches short of your chair leg. Drill holes through the end. Use a few zip ties to make loops, or chair stirrups, that you can slip your chair legs into...

I just used the drawer lining from walmart. Cut a piece long enough that I could set the front legs of the chair on and place the pedals on top of it.. The never slid. Worked great till I decided to buy a actual rig.

I'd consider some of the metal strapping with holes on it. Screw that to the pedals then at the chair make a loop as shown. Slide chair leg into loop. Pedals are not part of the chair basically. Fixed distance. The strap can be bent flat from edge of pedal to the chair.

I can't get my PS3 to connect to the network. I'm on a wired connection in my dorm room so there's no router to reset. Any ideas?

College may be having network interface issues. Try a pc from the jack to see if it has connectivity. If it does run your ps3 thru the network setup. Your Ip may have changed.

This is my first race with this group so let me know if I am doing this wrong. I bought these cars all brand new from the premium dealership and did an oil change. I didn't have time to look them all up in the database for max PP stats so I hope I am under the limit.

FF - Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '04 - 422 PP
4WD - Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro '03 - 424 PP
FR - Honda S2000 '06 - 426 PP
MR - Lotus Elise '96 - 413 PP

Total = 1685 PP

If your over it will remove points from your total. So 10 over PP will get -10 from your points total.

Next weeks pp total = 2000pp

Average = 500pp

Split = 450pp - 550pp

Brandofo picks track:

Motegi Full

Brandofo and Adventuruss,

Thanks for giving Performance Cap racing a try. I hope you both had fun.

Marcus's commentary was fantastic. His articulate wordage and vast knowledge sure made for a comical yet interesting time.

Good racing last night guys. I'll be taking a break from cap racing for a while as I try to get faster and improve. I may make the occasional Monday, but I will be very infrequent.

Thanks for the clean racing.

Sorry to hear that GTA. You are of course always welcome. One thing to remember. Many who are racing in the Cap races are seriously fast so don't let that get you down if keeping up is hard.

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do a two tier system that will allow for some of us slower guys to compete with each other while still mixing it up with the fast guys. Not sure how to do it yet but any suggestions people have would be helpful.

Regardless I hope you see the improvement you are looking for and are back soon.

One other note. The spreadsheet did not get fully updated with peoples lineups. Can people let me know the cars they used for the first two races?

I just plugged them all in. Didn't have time last night...Star usually helps during the race but he wasn't there to help last night.

Couple of notes...

Fastfox apparently has not learned the rules yet ;) He managed to run his MR in back to back races 2+3 last night. He did not run his FR at all.

Adventuruss managed to get 5th overall by running 40PP down at 1670. Crazy stuff.

Good racing by all. I think we should put the tire rule in effect for all races. +1 tires for Koszak etc...or anyone who needs them. All we want is close racing...were aren't racing for prizes here. We race to have fun.

You are wrong. My first race I used a Honda AccordEuro R, then in the second race I used my Renault Lutencia. I used a S2000 @ laguna seca, and a RS200 @ Deep forest.
