I freed up a few minutes at work so I'll do a shortened re-cap of last night:
Race one was High Speed Ring with full rain and oh boy did it rain... The whole time, even through qualifying. I don't think it ever got below 100% surface water. Tez did his homework and demolished the field at qualifying while running comfort softs but he tipped his hand and Joe swapped tires just before the race started. With everyone else running sports mediums, Tez and Joe took 1st and 2nd respectively with me in 3rd over a minute behind.
Race two was Spa and the big dogs came out. I didn't get to see much racing because I was all alone in last, but there was a good battle for 1st between Ken and Schmiggz with Ken pulling it out in his NSX. Joe kept cursing and saying he was doing badly but finished 3rd of course. My RX-8 had a front spoiler or something so I had to run a gold with stock wheels BMW 330i with 40,000,000 miles and there were reports of spectators throwing up in the stands and leaving due to the horrific sight. It was nearly beige people
Race 3 was Tsukuba or FFF (Front engine Front-wheel drive Fest) or VTsukubaEC. Only Tez and Wolf used 4WD while I was in the Spoon Integra, Schmiggz had a '91 Prelude and Joe and Ken both had the '01 Civic Type R. I held 1st for most of the race, but on the 2nd to last lap Joe took me over and Ken nearly had me at the finish line.
Race 4 was Indy Road and luckily I had my highest pp MR car left. I managed 2nd, barely, with Joe hitting me right at the finish line. Thanks for not passing me Joe
Tez ran away with this one in his NSX and Ken was not far behind in 4th.
It was a good night of racing by everyone and a lot of fun. I still have some work to do but I only remembered to save the last race so I may be asking for a few replays... cough Joe cough.
I don't know how or why, but that last turn (before the oval bends leading to the finish) at Indy Road I take so horribly wrong. Joe had to be doing like 20mph more than I was at the finish line. I must be braking too much but it is easily the most critical turn on the track because of the long straight right after. I'll have to investigate.
Joby,
How many track choices should I PM you?
