I might be able to race tonight, if I do race I'll be using a controller so if I crash into anyone, here's my apology in advance
I hope you can make the full race this week. 👍

I had a good last stint at twin ring motegi.... It felt very consistent and when I looked at the 3 laps displayed in the top right corner I had

1:55.957
1:55.959
1:55.962 :scared:

Nicktune um you know that today is Monza and not Twin Ring Motegi right?

Where's everyone at? Just under 10 minutes till we start and only 7 people have showed up. :(

Had lots of fun with tonight's race. Great battles between me and Beal during the first part of the race. I did a couple mistakes getting the 3 sec penalty but all in all, had fun. Was surprising not alot more showed up.

Good race last night despite the small turnout. Still can't figure out why I was turning the same lap times on hards as I was on softs, but whatever.

Saturday night was a lot of fun, even though we had a smaller than usual turnout. @racefan78, I've got no idea as to why that was happening with you tires(silly GT6), and I might take a look at the replay and see if it shows you running on hard tires. I've seen before where someone will say they've changed to hards, and the game shows it as well, but the replay won't show the change. Out of curiosity, did you notice any difference in tire wear between the two compounds?

Hopefully next week we'll see more people for our race at Grand Valley, and I want to remind @varga that we're still waiting on his choice for our final race. :)

Most definitely. The softs wore much faster, even faster than in practice in fact, especially the left sides. I noticed the times I ran in the first stint on hards were consistent with the times I ran on hards in practice. The times I ran on softs in stints 2 and 3 were a couple seconds off of the pace I was hitting with softs in practice.

Something is seriously screwed up with the tire model in GT6, the tire wear seems corrects, but you should definitely get more grip out of the soft tires and get faster lap times. It should be the same irregardless of whether your in practice, qualifying, or racing. Maybe someday PD will get all these problems sorted out, but I imagine that won't be for a long time.

It's not the compound bug. This has been happening for ages already. Once you pit for the first time, your lap times instantly drop 1 2 or maybe even 3 secs on longer tracks. Doesn't matter if you're on hards or softs. Thats why 2nd stint on softs will produce about the same lap times as first on hards.

Hopefully I'll make it this week for my "home" race :)

Unfortunately I will be missing the race this weekend. Going on a fishing trip.

Any news on what the track will be for the season finale? In the future, we should definitely try to stick to picking all the tracks before the season starts so we don't run into this issue.

I am going to miss tonight's race because I picked up another overnight shift at the hospital. I will be back next week though for what I believe is the season finale.

Correct, next week is the season finale. @varga still has not replied with his track choice, and he has not posted by Monday; I will go ahead and make a decision. Hopefully we'll hear something before then! :)

Even with a few people saying they won't make it, I hope we still have a good turnout tonight! See you all at Grand Valley! :)

:idea:I'd say that if varga doesn't choose a track by Monday, then the 7th place driver from last season should choose:idea:

fastfox finished 7th and I don't think he's racing but I could be wrong. If he doesn't pick, then it's xrad, he finished 8th last season. If he doesn't pick then it's our SPEC founder, cmbeal, that would choose.

Or we can put it to a vote. Everyone posts a track choice and the one who gets the most votes, wins.

Hey guys - you should move me to the part time driver list until further notice. While on my ski trip (why I missed last 2 weeks) I hurt one of my knees and it's still not better 9 days later. I'm having it looked at Tuesday by a specialist, but I tried racing Thursday night practice and it was hell after about 90 minutes. Gonna try to race Sunday with a brace on, but don't want to push my luck any more than that until it's looked at. Good luck tonight!

How about we put both of those ideas together!💡

If @varga doesn't make his choice by Monday; @fastfox400, since he would be next in line, would have the choice to either pick a track or have everyone pick a track and the one that gets the most votes is what we'll use.

Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be too serious, and here's to a speedy recovery!

*Attention*
Tonight's race has been postponed due to a number of drivers not being able to race tonight. The race scheduled for tonight will now be on April 12th, and the final race of the season will be pushed back to May 3rd, as the 19th and 26th are scheduled for special events. The calender linked to in the first post will be updated to reflect this change. See you all next week!

@fastfox400 - Since we have not heard of a choice for the final race of Season 16 it is now your choice to either pick a track, or let everyone suggest a track and the one with the most votes is what we'll race. :)

Also, very soon I'll be putting up the signup list for the FIA WEC/TUDOR special events. Once that is up, everyone can begin making their choices for which car they'd like to race. :)

Awesome! Thank you, and can't wait to see you back on track with us!

So @cmbeal317 , we can choose only one car for the entire specials season? Or can we switch every race?

Edit: nvm i found an answer:dunce: But i have more. Can I choose a car thats not in the list you posted Beal? Id like to run a GT-1 Toyota.

I haven't tested out the Toyota GT-1, as I was trying to keep the car choices as close as possible to the actual FIA WEC cars. Unfortunately GT6 has given us a number of cars from multiple years and I've used the 2011 season as the basis of the car choices. Performance wise, all the cars in usually within .5 sec of the other cars in their category. One thing I wanted to try for when doing this was to get as close to the real cars as possible with exceptions made to use the most relevant cars we have available(i.e. substituting the Toyota TS030 with the Peugeot 908 which is why were running with the 2011 regulations as opposed to the current regulations). Another good example is the Viper, which we're using the old one's from 2000, since we don't have the GTS-R. The trend with PD seems like they only want to or are only able to include winning cars. Hopefully that will change and we can have the right cars to replicate at least one real season with all the correct cars. I'm not saying we need all the liveries, but just the cars in one or two liveries plus a base model.

Also since we're only doing a few races alongside the real life TUDOR USCC races, I've decided to combine the car lists as it the GT cars would mainly be the same, but the LMP1s would probably be changed the older Pescarolos as they look similar to the LMP2 cars that race in TUDOR USCC.

If you must absolutely run the Toyota, then I will make an exception, but I wanted to make sure you understood my reasoning for the cars I picked rather than just telling you that you weren't able to race with it.

Thanks,
cmbeal317

The GT-1 is alot faster and has alot better aero than any of the LMP cars. I did some testing this morning with it.
