ok, just a quick question about tuning....ya right.

through the assistance of whitey (thank you for your continued support?) lol. i have found this tuning sections in GT planet. However the car I am interested in using doesn't have a tune specifically for the settings we have to go by in GT! here.
so....do I use what I can sort to speak and tweak the speed, hp, and transmission accordingly. Or is there a tune out there somewhere with my car in mind that would have the tune specifics right down to toe and camber?

I think once I see how tuning works essentially it should be easy to reproduce decent tunes on future cars for racing purposes. I'll leave the super fine tuning for those who want to actually race for real. As this looks like an exercise in severe OCD. Unless of course someone went through the pains to do it already.

also is there a over view anywhere about what to shoot for in general? Is there a skeleton for all tunes that you should start at and then tweak from there so you at least have a good start?

I'm sure this is my last question about tuning as it appears to be really simple and easy to do......

There are no bad questions.
Birdie, Scorpion or Jake are great sources in our series.
You will get a good answer, be sure.

This series looks really interesting, and I do plan to get involved very soon, however, I won't have the time to commit to the series until after the 15th of this month, as my work schedule has been a little adjusted, but soon all will be as it should be, and I'll be in!

Well hop in whenever you can either on tuesday nights official practice or wednesdays race and get your feet wet. The experience will help you when you are ready to commit to a season. I started this series at the end of a season and was nervous and intimidated and was lapped in each race. A few seasons later i was winning races. Its a short learning curve.

Our first race is the 16th, this tuesday and wednesday is practice so you would be good :)

A good basic starter is stock see how it handles and adjust a more advance start is middle ground I start with:
Ride height:
middle
Spring rate:
Middle
Dampers (Compression):
4 4
Dampers (Extension)
4 5
Anti roll:
4 4
Camber:
0 0
Toe angle:
0 0
Then the LSD
10 10 10

As for adapting a tune from GTP yes you can use and adapt from a different BoP. It's about where the basics are what gear you are using compared to the tuner all sorts of things. But they do work don't just stick to 1 tuner as you may find one that clicks with your style better than another.

What car are you thinking of using and I'll give you what I got for it.

If you plan to join i will be needing an FR from each of you still

How about these - for variety?

Twin Ring Motegi -
start time of 0400 and Time Change at 10.
(Sun comes up by 2nd lap -
Just a different look)

Monza with No Chicanes
and
Grand Valley Speedway - Reverse

I will send a FR asap, and unfortunately I can't confirm that I can start this week, but possibly, it just depends on my work schedule. Normally I'm available pretty much every week, however this week I'm conducting interviews out of town, so I can't be 100% sure that I can make it, but if I can, I will be there! Thanks for all the helpful tips and comments, and the warm welcomes :D

FR sent.....I think, Lol. Did it through PSN, so not sure if it went through or not.

I think this season will decide whether Tex or Scorp gain some weight. Its a whole new ballgame with these new cars though. Every time we switch cars everything gets shaken up. We got some fresh blood too. The first race will be interesting to see how everyone finishes. There are always cars that rise to the top and cars that lag behind just like real life and that could decide how things shake out.

The truth or the lie?
I appreciate Xrad's question and wondering "Why?".
Maybe, if I do well this next season, we should give it "another try".

Please be assured, truthfully, I make every effort to be competitive no matter which Division assigned, promoted or demoted to/into. There could be some "negative expectations" that flood my mental performance, when allowed into the higher level, but believe me it is not intentional.

Same thing happens in Sunday Night Snail ........ just don't do well in the elevated groups.

You had a good season Tex but i agree that you should stay pro am until you are consistently on top regardless of car. You had a hell of a season though bud great racing!

Just like you i am tentative and lack confidence around the fast guys and have to remind myself that i belong and i need to fight back and not roll over. I have been on the slower end of things for so long its a mental hang up now.

Plus Tex asked me not to promote him.
Because I truly thought my winning was the result of a great car, with a great tuning setup ........ that I guessed/stumbled into.
Not due to my sudden improvement in skill.

I'm aware of your reasoning Tex. And if you had of podiumed for the entire season it would have been a different story.

As for you guessing on a set up I highly doubt it you are learning what you want from a car and it's starting to show!
