I have tested the 350z and 370z and for me they are identical in time at each track ive tried. When the hp and weight are fixed they are essentially the same car. I am once again campaigning bowties tunes and they are fast so if you are having issues just visit his page.
Where can I find his page, I like too find baseline tunes to start out on because I'm not good at tuning, right now I can't find 07 Z tuning on gtplanet advanced tuning guide ):

If you use a tune that someone else spent time setting up, you will miss out on why it worked. That tune my not be everything for your driving style. IMO, you will have learned very little. And if the tune does not give the results you want, then what will you change.
I say get in that stock set up and drive the tracks we will be racing. Learn the tracks before changing the car. Know what you want the car to do first. Then make small changes and learn how that small change works and compare that with what you are very familer with. All this learned info will be useful on your next car tune.
There are no good short cuts!!!

Thats what i am working toward. when i started in gt1 i didnt know a thing about tuning. Now i am to the point where i can adjust certain things to optimize them to my driving. I am now routinely adjusting ride height, toe, brakes, trans, diff, power combinations, downforce and weight distribution. whenever i tackle springs shocks and arbs i get caught in a circle where i just go backwards and start chasing settings with no improvement. The way i am learning is seeing what is different in each tune i use and learning why the tuner made a certain setting a different way. when i compare tunes from different tuners and they behave differently i am learning what different settings do. yes its a shortcut for now but it is accelerating my ability to do it on my own and that is the goal since once i can optimize tunes to my trail braking, late apexing, ds3 using ass then ill be a serious contender.

I get it but at this time with a 3 yr old and 1 tv in the house i have no room for a wheel, i probably wouldnt get to use it since i can only get on in spurts so dragging out and setting up a wheel wouldnt make sense and i couldnt justify the $ to the girlfriend since we have other priorities.

Hopefully down the road when we buy our next house that we are saving for i can have a room dedicated to having a wheel setup away from the main space and can take the next step. maybe for GT sport or whatever will be the big platform at that time.

I've spent 2hours on BMW, and 1hour on Audi?, I don't have time to spend days on tuning cars and practiceing every track, and if I do use someone else's tune as baseline so I can race Wednesday then I will and not feel bad. And I'm not racing gt1 for tuning experience, I'm here because I enjoy racing on track and there's not many organized racing series out there. Everyone has different reason why they race here and I will get wheel someday but my mountain biking, building my prelude into track day car come first.

@Xradkins, @Scorpion0001, @Jakedog23, @Die_Birdy_Die and all others who have provided Tuning advice and help -

Please accept

my Apology (for, seemingly, to waste your time when I change cars - without any effort on my part)

and my sincere Appreciation for the Time involved, plus the help you have given - not only myself, but others as well.

I will make every attempt to work from the Base Tune - and only seek help when experiencing no progress.

Huh? If you don't like a car you don't like a car. I've got no problems tuning a car for you to try it takes me at most 2 hours to get it to where I'm happy with it. Now getting you happy with it is another story.

I've got no issues with how you get your tune as long as you have fun and are competitive. The entire point of this series to me is to race with tuned cars (never has it been said it had to be your tune) Spec racing is fun and all but definitely has its draw backs.

Hey guys and @Die_Birdy_Die I took a big spill with my bicycle over the weekend and fractured my Humerus (big bone from elbow to shoulder) and will be out of commission for up to four weeks.

Very sorry to read about your injury. Hope the pain is manageable and doesn't hinder your work - or keep you awake at night. Hope you recover easily.

Tomorrow's the race, tonight's practice races for tomorrow. 2 15 minute races and at least a 20 minute race with some time inbetween for fine tuning.

Only last tuesday was no races as we had to start tuning the cars.

Won't make it tomorrow I finals coming and they are for college stuff so I have to actually try. See you next week

Good practice last night, so Thor heal quickly.

I left the room quick to check on the USMNT soccer game and I should have just stayed and kept tuning.

Holy heck what a race last night. I couldnt have hoped for a better start. Tricks false start put me in second and wity trick and scorp on mediums, i had a chance to get out front and stretch a lead that would put me in position for the win and then.... it all went away in flash. I had a strong run on scorp down the front straight and had the pass going into T1 but couldnt keep it down and nudged scorp to the edge of the track sending him spinning right back into me spinning me out and reseting me to the back. Scorp waited for me even though it was entirely my fault and now scorp and myself were set way back with the race win out of reach.

Trick capitalized and ran a perfect mistake free race for any easy win. How about that for a debut! scorp and myself had an intense first stint battle back and forth that had me at the edge of my couch. I actually got down to an 11.4 but was way too far behind already to challenge so settled with a strong podium which is not so bad.

Checking the replay briefly it appears that everyone found more speed and were keeping good pace. I have to imagine the reason for people dropping back was more due to visiting the sand than being off pace. Being in traffic doesnt help either. my fast lap in my first soft stint was just 13.6 after beating my tires to death trying to fight back to the front.

If anyone feels like they need improvement to their pace or setup especially the z drivers let me know and we can open a practice room this week and work on it. Of the four of us in the z if we all have the same setup kg should be fastest and the rest of us should be within a tenth or two since we are all pretty equal skill wise so lets get that sorted while the season is young.

It was a lot of fun in my first GT1 race. I'm still mad at myself for messing up the start. I was behind @lllTrick and when he false started I tried to avoid him to the left, but as I had a lot of wheel spin at the start, I when off the track and into the wall and by the time I got going, everyone else was into turn 1.

I managed to catch the back of the group within a few laps, as I had no traffic to deal with, then proceeded to go off at turn 1 trying to make a pass. My best lap was around 1:12.4 I think, which I was happy with, but I was so inconsistent, especially on the sport medium tires. Sorry to @Kgffy for holding you up in the middle of the race. I was trying really hard to cleanly stay in front of you, but then I went off after the long straight. Story of my race. Catch up, go off.

Nice comeback from @TEX36 as well. I was on worn sport mediums and he was on fresher sport softs and probably 1-2 seconds a lap faster than me and I just had no chance of holding you off when you got by with 2-3 laps to go.

Thanks for hosting @racingchamp30!
