2:30.9 in the amuse. For you guys running in the 2:20's, where would you say you've found the most time on your lap?

First, I would like to thank everyone that came out last night. We made it to 5 people! One more would have been great. And I really love Cat & Mouse, so much so I think I am going to try and get a league together for this. I'll be putting together a thread this weekend and make a feeler post. I always have fun when I play this game. We even figured out a way to play with 3 people. And its a neat way to practice also. DA, Goat, Wolfsatz and Warden, thanks fella's for hangin out and smashing some cars!
I'd also like to weigh in just a bit on the friends room thing. Thats how we ran the event yesterday. It worked well, I suppose, as I've not had a chance to really experience all of the online stuff yet. However, myself, Goat and Warden got discoed through out the night, and when I got disconnected from my room, I wouldn't get back in. Even though the game showed the room with Goat and DA in it, 2/12 drivers, it would tell me the room was full when I tried to join. It was the first time I lost connection in an online race to date, and I am not sure if it happens every time someone is dropped from the room they created, or if something unusual happened in my case that wouldn't allow me back in. Just something else to consider.

Turn 2 has a lot of time in it to be unlocked, I keep finding 10ths there. Of course the exit of turn 1 and the hairpin onto the back straight are critical. I also think there's some time to be gained in the downhill chicane thingy after the 2nd left hand sweeper, I still haven't found a good rhythm through there that feels like I'm getting everything out of that section. I also see a lot of people online late braking and early apexing the turn at the end of the back straight, getting your braking point right there and having a good run out of that into the last turn is pretty important. 2:27.9 so far and I still feel like there's a good amount of time out there. Don't know how much more practice I'll get though before Sunday's race with some family holiday commitments this weekend.

I've actually come to enjoy the Amuse, took some time to tame, but I like tail happy cars. The BRZ is the bane of my existence, I can't figure out how to get that thing to rotate reliably. I do enjoy how the three cars really cover the spectrum of plow like a truck, well balanced (the mazda feels so much more like a mazda should than it did in GT5), and loose as a goose.

If you do find yourself practicing again you should shoot me a room number, I'd love to watch you for a few laps if you wouldn't mind.

    Incident Review Sheet

The probation sheet has been updated in a timely fashion for a change.

@kcheeb. Would it be possible to get a column added to the driver probation sheet? I would like to have a column added between driver and start date and have it called division.

Can someone please inform me on the details of this via PM? I wasn't even aware there was a complaint filed against me. Would be kinda nice to know exactly what I did wrong...

Edit: Ahhhh, I see that I need to send the PM, should have read the post more closely.

Did the Schwarzwald League series in National A last night. Used the Merc 55, which, by the way, has an exhaust note that is more than a little pleasing to my ears.

This was how I got on at Metzgesfeld

It did come down right side up. Had a little off after Kallenhard but still managed to win the race and run a sub 8 minute lap. The AI is terribad. Brake checkin', hip checkin, rabble rousin, bunch of slow pokes.

The 55 however, is a joy to drive.

Done, I entered the Divisions for the active drivers. Will make it a lookup so it automatically populates. Just on my laptop and the screen is too small to do any coding work with.

Thank you very much. That will save me a few mouse clicks per driver that I can't remember what division they race in. It will also decrease the possibility that I miss a driver all together.

Is that a consistent time for you? I can only get to ~2:34 so far consistently... I can get a couple seconds faster but then it's a crap shoot whether I can get to the low 2:30s or 3min thanks to going off roading.

I'd say I can probably do a 2:33 consistently., though I tinkw there is lots of time to be had off my best. I just tend to push too hard sometime and put a stray wheel off and spin.

Yes. A 'friends only' room can be set up as a non-fixed host. As for the primary host getting disconnected; it's very important that when the primary host opens the room, the back up host should enter next and then everyone else. Everyone in each division should be friends with the primary host and the back up host.

Division 2 will be opening a 'friends only' room, this Sunday. We will not be in an open lobby so it is very important that you check the Drivers List and make sure that if you are racing in D2, you are friends with tcrash15 and fastfox400. I sent out friend requests and everyone but GTP_Wins, GTP_XR_RACER11 and Jones3619 has accepted.

If you are racing in D2 on Sunday, you need to get your friend requests accepted for you to be able to race. Remember. send your friend requests to tcrash15 and fastfox400.
I have excepted all friend requests that I have been sent. I will send out the remaining sunday evening when I get on..
Thanks guys! It's good to know that D2 is set up already. 👍

@dabneyd and @OwensRacing what are your plans for D1? @cmbeal317 and @Handlebar what are your thoughts for D4?

Will you guys be running in the Open Lobby? If so, I suggest you put "PRIVATE" in the room name to limit the number of randoms who join. Or do you guys plan on doing the 'Friends Only' setup that D2 and D3 are doing. My preference is to try it run in the Open Lobby, but it's up to you guys. Either way, a primary and secondary host will be required. The main difference of course is whether or not the hosts have to have everyone on their friends lists.

After further investigation, racefan78's penalty has been rescinded. This action is taken after the report was filed and by virtue of one replay showing the event much differently than the replay that was initially reviewed. The incident in question was caused by a network issue where some drivers could not see others during racing. All can expect an updated SNAIL OLR and Penalty Guidelines to be posted, with a new section, addressing how to behave when unable to see other drivers on track, and the steps we will take if those rules are ignored, in the coming days.

As I've mentioned in another post a few pages back, it is imperative that everyone save their replays. Just for cases like this.

I would also like to remind everyone, who may not have provided an email address we can use for the Incident Reporting System, you will not receive notifications when an Incident is filed against you or when you file an incident against another driver. If you haven't provided an email address for this purpose, please PM kcheeb or myself with that information so we can get it entered.

Thank you.

Smooth is fast is never more true than on a track as bumpy as this! The undulations will amplify the effect of any abrupt inputs, so driving above your comfort zone is going to slow you down. Also, try braking a little earlier and use a touch of throttle to stabilize the car well before the apex, it really calms the rear end down.

I've been wanting to join S.N.A.I.L. for a long time. How would I get in on the fun, Zer0?

Skills will be along shortly with the specifics. If you go back a page or two you will probably find one of his intro posts.

Almost all the key bots of info can be found on page 1, posts 1 or 2. There are many links in there with further info if needed.

Welcome aboard @CarCzar ! I have a feeling your time trial will not be a hurdle.

Mario Andretti (part of the Wikipedia article - Mario had a twin brother named, Aldo)

Mario and Aldo were surprised to find a half-mile dirt racing track when they moved to Nazareth. The twins worked on a 1948 Hudson Hornet Sportsman modified funded by money that they earned in their uncle's garage in 1959. They took turns racing the old Hudson on oval dirt tracks near Nazareth in 1959. They did not tell their parents that they were racing. The twins each had two wins after their first four races. Aldo was seriously hurt near the end of the season, and their parents were unhappy to find out that the twins were racing. Mario had 21 modified stockcar wins in 46 races in 1960 and 1961.
Thanks for posting this, Tex! I've been a Mario/Andretti fan for a long time and never new he had a twin brother. As for the Hudson Hornet, my daughter just happened to watch the movie Cars again last night and I noticed for that a Hudson Hornet is featured in the movie racing an oval dirt track! I've watched that scene plenty of times before, but only now recognized what car model it was because of the publicity that GT6 and Mario Andretti are bringing to it. 👍

@JLBowler

We need a technical ruling on track boundary.

He is a picture. What is the track bouandary the white line or the orange cones?

I'd like to know the answer to this too. Could mean the better part of a second by the end of the straight. In my honest opinion, I think it would be best to go with what the game says is legal, that was it is consistant across all divisions/stewards, but just my two cents.

Well, you just made the most important step! As Handlebar mentioned, @Skills will reply to your with our official welcome message. It'll have detailed instructions for you join. 👍

Btw, where was your avatar pic taken? That's some serious air and I'm jealous!
