Race Date - Sun May 18 2014
Penalty Rate 60%
Banner by dabneyd

Below are the results of the 5 incidents the stewards reviewed.
Division 4 - 2 incidents on file
TEX-36
  • Round 2 - Race 1 - Level 1 - 4 points doubled to 8 for probation violation reduced to 4 for self report.
  • Round 3 - Race 1 - Level 1 - 1 points doubled to 2 for probation violation reduced to 1 for self report.
  • 5 points total and 3 weeks probation remain.

My sincere apologies to Div-4 and the Leage for my lack of proper Race Craft. I will make every effort to improve and eliminate these penalties in future events. Even if I need to run more slowly and towards the back to achieve the goal of cleaner car control.
Again, please accept my apology.

Yup now I am working on getting gold in the 97T to buy the non Team Lotus Special Livery for the car.

It took so much to achieve the Silver - can't imagine shaving another 3 seconds off the lap time.
Fully respect those of you that are so skilled as to beat the Gold Standard.

It took lots of hours for me to get the gold times for each event, even for the kart event. It's well worth getting the cars and having the smile on your face when you hear that ping and see the last two trophies pop. My strategy was to see how i could improve my driving and times through each time i did it. I didn't have the ghost car visible after each attempt, just could tell seeing that yellow arrow behind me. No matter how frustrating it is to keep trying, just keep telling yourselves "i can do this, i can achieve this" and you will get the gold in no time, good luck to all still trying to get the gold.

All golds and a silver on the last one. I had no distractions on the first 3 time trials. Then the wife came home and distracted me on the last one. I'm only off by a bit to get the gold in the last one. :)

The first 3 time trials were pretty easy. The 4th one is a bit harder. I also took what I've learned here so far and drove with no traction control and ABS on 1. :)

Learning throttle control is fun with the Lotus. :)

I haven't gotten all Golds yet. Still missing the Brands Hatch with the Lotus. I can put a really good lap together but lose it all near the finish line. :ouch:

Tex... Racecraft is not only a will, an option. It has a lot to do with your state of mind and your moment inspiration.
All of us have nights that we drive amazingly, we win races and we do everything right... Including the racecraft. Some other nights are the opposite. We're not 100% and everything comes out wrong, including the racecraft.
Apologies not accepted as you don't need it at all.

I'm only missing the gold with the Lotus at Brands Hatch and seriously, I've done 50 attempts by now!!! Haaarrrrhhhh!!! I'm 4 tens of a second away :ouch:

I have no doubt you are trying to run as clean as possible, Tex, but more "Yellow Room" practice/proximity to traffic is the way to improve. Racecraft isn't learned or challenged without practicing contesting to gain or hold a position, IMHO.

That's my view from the "top of the bell curve" - the middle of D5 on a good day.

I have been thinking about heading to the junk yard for an upgrade! LOL
It was comfortable, a manual (A plus since it cant connect to power at my house), leather, AND it was already unbolted from the car. All that needed to be done is cut the seat belt (Surprisingly easy for a Volvo...) and unplug the wire harness. If you are looking for a seat, expect around $30-$50. 👍

I'd like to get a bucket seat out of a 370z or something of that nature

Since we're sharing,
The last 2 weeks have been a little rough for me, drunk driver hit some kind of main substation down the street from me, no power for 36-40 hours causing me to miss the last snail weekend.

then a friend spent 1.5-2k on a nice seat/wheelstand, t500, and various other accessories, I drove it once and decided my pink wingback and fanatec wheel stand where not cutting it, so I got to work.

3x sheets of oak veneer hardwood plywood
70 linear feet of 1x oak
3 Samsung 22" 1080p 120hz TVs
2x pawnshop ps3s
A Second dl-ed game and the original disc copy I gave to my brother
A whole lot of math, geometry and saw dust later;

Obviously not properly finished, still need to sand, make face frames for the back, finishing the equipment shelves/cabinet on the front, get it sealed and ventilated, wheel mount, edge banding, and build a frame to get it off the floor, but it is almost usable.

BTW 2x v1.00 to v1.08 updates suck....

Edit, ok so this is the absolutely coolest thing I have ever built. It's now functional and just driving from behind it with a ds3 is AMAZING!!! If I had any idea how involving 3x screens would be, I would have saved thousands of dollars in 110 unleaded and tires. I can't put tires on my S4 for twice what I have in this setup, I am thoroughly impressed.
