Team S.N.A.I.L. Update

With the promotion and relegation now complete, it's time to step up and fill in the gaps in the Team SNAIL responsibilities. Please check out the Team SNAIL Roster and see if your division has some gaps. Please reply to this post and sending me a PM would be helpful as well. I have a two day autocross event from 8-5 today and tomorrow, so I'll update the Team SNAIL listings tonight.

Thank you!

Not surprised there. You did very well in the Yellow room on Thursday. 👍👍 Welcome to D2 and make sure you get your friend requests sent out to the primary and secondary hosts. The list for TEAM Snail can be found here.
Thank you nmpc1. I sent one to you and VrapPlus. Due to the shuffling of drivers at this time, will the division2 host(s) change? The link did not work.

Promotion and Relegation are complete for the month and since @VrapPlus is still in D2 he will host unless he says otherwise. The link above has been fixed as well.

Fun racing in ROC last night! I had some major connection issues and couldn't see a few drivers like Alien, but I'm sure he was ahead of me! Hope I didn't cause any incidents because of this. Where can I find the results?

I dont think they are up officially yet i believe @Wolfsatz had trouble with the doc

Pop quiz for hosts and scorekeepers. If a driver shows up to race and is on the driver's list for your division but is not listed in the directors document for scorekeeping, what should you do?

A. Let the driver race but don't record their scores for two weeks.
B. Ask JLBowler or DragonWhisky why the driver isn't listed in the directors doc.

Only two choices and it should be pretty obvious what the right answer is. I will tell you guys that there is at least one division that didn't answer this correctly.

I pick C :gtpflag:

Fantastic post, brought back some memories.
Growing in up in Canada of course you would expect your sports heroes to come from the hockey world. But for me it was racing and Gilles Villineuve. There was not a lot of names in racing that came from Canada back then, so he became a true national hero to me and a lot others in my country at the time. Growing up in the 70s and 80s I did not know that F1 existed until he came along.
I may be biased but I think he truly would've been one of greats if he didn't die so tragically like so many others. I still remember that day and how stunned I was hearing the news of his death.
He is the main reason, to this day why I love all forms of motor racing.

So thanks for the memories and the passion Gilles... Salute!!!

Gilles died 3 months after my birth, my father loved him like crazy and he transferred that passion to me. For thoses that don t know G. Villeneuve that well, go see some footages and you will see what a real all around pure driver is all about. On ne t oublieras jamais Gilles!!!

By the way, I am ready for the races tomorrow. Keep in mind that i usually arrive from work close to the starts of the races so if you dont see me when its time to start... it is normal and i am aware that i will lose points for not showing up on time. Although keep in mind that i will do everything i can to arrive as soon as possible ans have fun with you guys.

See ya tomorrow night!

well I screwed up Blanchemont and the bus stop chicane when I saw I was neck and neck with adventuruss on the final split....
Lol happens to the best of us I can't count how man .3s I threw away
Just an FYI there are 11 people I'm the top 35 that don't count or are to young
Or just don't plan on going to nationals so the cut off spot is going to be #39
If more people run the time trail that don't count I'll update the cutt off so everyone who's
Who is in the .5 - .6 should be safe 👍

@nmcp1 is there any difficulty in being a scorekeeper? I'm thinking in becoming backup for that.

It's not difficult but you do need a laptop with the director's doc running while we are racing. The powers that be will have to give you access to the doc as well.

I went to a solo novice school my SCCA region (Finger Lakes) puts on at RIT today. It was a lot of fun and got a ton of seat time on some common individual elements, figure 8, slalom, etc. We only got 3 total runs; 1 in the am as a baseline, which I totally messed up and 2 in the afternoon. I finished 2nd in the raw and PAX times out of 31 other novice drivers. If anyone is looking for some competitive stuff to do with your car (even a daily driver), autocross/solo is great.

I'm also going to the regular event at the same location (different course) tomorrow.

Here is the video of my 2nd run. Tips are welcome and I know I messed up the final hard left turn prior to the finish. The car is a 2003 Nissan 350Z.

hello i seen your post and i am intrested in racing with you guys just wondering if i am able to race

@Jesse208

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.
