Bought and tried the Vette at Spa for a few minutes this evening.

Blech. Talk about a car not suited for track duty. Terrible understeer and no brakes...let me count the ways it is no fun to drive.

The Lotus at Daytona...did three laps...never let off the throttle. Can't see lap times varying much across all the divisions. No practice required.

Should be an interesting Sunday.

Between Suzuka and Daytona, I foresee a good points night for me. It's just what I need after last weeks disaster. There won't be a big difference in lap times at Daytona. The difference will come with who can handle the draft the best.

Lots of accidents at Daytona during practice.

That means you do need practice, not by yourself, but running as a pack, getting the fastest lap in draft is not easy at all, and the draft is a second faster

There will be incidents Sunday at Daytona. Please take it easy on the Steward's this week and give a gentleman's agreement on contact. If it looks intentional, then file. But in practice there was a lot of moving around trying to get in position that did cause contact. None of it was IR worthy, just racing. Also, I am going to say this because I believe it is important, THE YELLOW LINE IS OUT OF BOUNDS. I expect there to be a good race Sunday, but please give each other some space on track.

Daytona will not be about fastest laps.
Agreed. The Lotus is too light to be stable in the draft. You get close to the car in front of you and it's starts moving around like crazy. I still have some teeth marks on my wheel from trying to keep a straight line in the draft.

Discipline from the pack will be key otherwise things will go horribly wrong very quickly.

Race Date - Sun Aug 10 2014
Penalty Rate 90%
Banner by dabneyd

SNOLR Quote for the Week:
- Penalties for ghosting violations and corner cutting will be totaled for each race. Four shortcuts or ghosting violations in one race would equal a Level 1 penalty worth four points. Five shortcuts or ghosting violations in one race would equal a Level 2 penalty worth 5 points.

-Stewards have the ability to assess penalties that are found during race reviewing, but we will not actively look for things to penalize. Any violations discovered by the stewards during review will not be subject to the filing deadline for race complaints. As a result of this, penalties levied in this instance will not affect prize winners for that week.

Below are the results of the 10 incidents the stewards reviewed.

Well people. I am going to go golfing here pretty soon, pictures may come. But I am 14 and golf quite a bit. For the last two months every weekend:lol: So don't stereotype me and my golf:cheers:

Also during the 24h Le Mans I was able to fit a round of 18 in that 24h gap:sly:
Hopefully it don't take you 15 yrs to get to a 4.4 handicap, like me;) Enjoy the game. There's more to golf than just golf:cheers:

Hey, I'd love to join this racing league. I met a most of the guys in NYC and they said it was a must. I didn't even know there were leagues like this that existed

Just finished finals so now is the perfect time to join. I've been reading the rules and I love what I'm seeing. Let me know what I can do from here.
Do i spot a formula SAE car!?!?!?!?

Does snail have any specific overtaking rules on ovals? Or is it just drafting and random overtakes, snatching first?

I use to race ovals in a lfsS2 league and once into the race some "packs" were etablished a rule came in place for 3car packs, 4 car packs etc it was always the last 2 allowed to overtake ...
And then repeat ...
For example driver 1,2 and 3 ... 2,3 overtakes 1 then 1,3 overtakes 2 then 3,2 overtakes 1 then 2,1 overtakes 3 ... etc

and so on it was sort of like a loop and iam having alot of trouble correctly elaborating it in english it ... sorry if iam just sounding like a crackhead to you hahahah

Random fact of GT6: Take. the Formula GT (stock) and lower the power to 50%. It's ~480HP. You still have to pay attention with your braking inputs and you can't really trail brake like when it has full power, but throttle input is a lot easier and therefore the whole thing is a lot more fun. I always want to make online lobbies with single seaters only or something but nobody ever joins. I think all the controller users don't like it.

Just looking at the incident report I want to make a comment about the "unsafe re-entry" penalty.

Here's what I typically do when I screw up and go off (which is at least 3-4 times a night)....just stop the freaking car and wait for everyone to go by. I screwed up, time to pay the piper, not make others pay for my mistake.

But what I see, race in and race out, is people driving off track and staying on the gas trying to lose as few spots as possible. Their tires are dirty, they hit the pavement with no traction going 20-30mph slower than traffic, and right in the way of someone. If you can see them coming on the mini map then they are too close to re-enter safely.

Stop trying to save your freakin positions and ruining other peoples race by driving back on to the track. You screwed the pooch, suck it up, stop your car and wait for everyone to go by before getting back on track.

Just swallow your pride instead of trying to save a couple of points. You are going to pay...either by being penalized afterwards OR by just sucking it up and owning it, wait for the drivers to go by and get back on in last place if you have to.

Every one of my last place finishes has come from me crashing, waiting for everyone to pass, then re-entering safely...usually over 10 secs back. It's frustrating but it's the right thing to do.

For those of you who may have missed it the Trans-Am is making a comeback. In the late 60s it was a factory proving ground for the Pony cars...Mustang and Camaro, later followed by Javelin , charger , Bakaruuda etc. Drivers in the Bryar Motorsport Park race in 196 something (Bryar is now Louden)....Mark Donoghue driving for Penske, parnelli Jones and George Follmer for Bud Moore's Ford team, Peter Revson, Sam Posey etc. on a given weekend you would see Gurney, Swede Savage,Ed Leslie. Entrants included AMC and Shelby American. Every US manufacturer was represented by factory teams. The racing was Biblical.

Well it almost went away and recently was resurrected and now has 50 car grids but no factory representation. As noted in a post above Mopar is, through STS and Miler racing returning to where his racing life began...the Trans-Am.
Here is his.... Tommy Kendall's ....car....very GT6ish....my very favorite color.

@GTP_Nobby

Here's an example of what @Dragonwhisky is talking about.

I have a hardwired, broadband connection with a Motorola Surfboard router/modem. Direct connection.

Nat 2 PS3 connection

3691668299.png

I'll have a 300/50 mbps in October.

Local 50 miles

North West Coast 750 miles

North Mid Country 1700 miles

South Mid Country 1200 miles

North East 2700 miles

Mid Atlantic 2300 miles

South East 2200 miles

Ontario, Canada

Calgary, Canada

Monterrey, Mexico

You want to have the most, 100 Ping, B Line Quality, to have a good gaming connection. You also want to make sure that you have a Nat 2 connection in your PS3. You can check that by going to the settings - Internet Settings, in your PS3.

You can also read this .

Hope this helps:)👍

Is it possible to do a speed test from the Playstation?
I think my Ethernet connection might be bad.

As far as I know, and hope, there is no overtaking rule besides the Golden Rule.

Just going to throw this up again for everyone to see.

Daytona SS will have some differences.

We will be using the rolling start 2x option.

Penalties will be off for all divisions so as not to turn bump drafting into a ghost passing festival.

The yellow line is out of bounds. If you put any part of your car below the yellow line and improve your position in the process, you must give back the spot or you will be subject to a shortcutting penalty. The only exception to this is if you are avoiding an on track accident.

Under no circumstances are you to force another car below the yellow line. If you push up the track there is a better than average chance that someone (maybe four someones) are going to be inside of you. You are not to cut back across their line. You have just made a mistake and must rejoin the line when it's safe to do so.

I have no idea what you're talking about but there are no such rules in SNAIL. It's pack racing so you have to look in all directions before you change lines. If you drive over the top of someone who has their front bumper to your rear tire, that is your fault for changing lanes when you're not clear to do so. Overlap at turn in means nothing at Daytona. It's basically one long straight (with gentle curves) as we are flat out the whole time. I suggest you use a racing view with a mirror and practice with the look left, look right buttons so you can turn and look at the same time. If you can't do these things, then I suggest picking a lane and staying there for the whole race.
