Damn @Handlebar

That is a damn beautiful car. I really hope it works out. Glad to have been of service...happy to help out and live vicariously through you for a short while :)
Yea it looks really nice. Only thing I do not like it the targa but that is nitpicking.

Handle - Excellent and Thank you for posting the pictures. Joy (aka Crew Chief) was impressed as well.
I, too, will be disappointed for/with you if it fails the inspection. With extra parts it would appear the owner has taken very good care it "for you".
We will all understand if you are missing Sunday night - and jealous, too. Hope you have a very enjoyable "first drive" as you bring it to the freshly prepared "sanctuary".

I preferred the Targa as well. The Cabriolet felt very open (and can't be used on many tracks for Driving Events/Education), and I just didn't want a coupe. If it was a 912 or 911SC or earlier, then the coupe would be OK, but my wonderful wife gave me a nice bump to the budget.

Now, I will try to temper my enthusiasm for a few days.

OK, any suggestions on how - what company? - to ship the extra two racing seats and roll bar?

Time is not a major concern - I want them to arrive in good condition (not stolen or damaged). I won't arrive off the plane with any boxes, so suggestions on how/where to get packaging materials for 2 seats, or two single seat packages, are appreciated!

I would check and see if you can find a racing supply store in the area. I'm thinking that UPS or standard FedEx isn't your best option here. Just the size of the items, roll bar in particular will probably require a freight service of some kind.

Come to think of it, why don't you just install the roll bar in the car to drive/ship it home then you just have to worry about the seats. If you're shipping the car, you could put the extra seats in the current car seats upside down and call it good.

There is no way I am going to Nurb until I can take a low HP car on RS around Spa with no mistakes. I found I can drive the Gazoo Racing Toyota fine but still need basic wheel skills.
Regardless of car, tires and PP, rUnning Nurburgring helps with understanding speed, braking, corner entry/exit and pretty much has everything you'll ever have to face on any track!

If all goes well...Looks like I am driving home, I will turn it into two days so I can enjoy the mountains, stop in Roanoke and come home on the Blue Ridge Parkway if the weather is nice. I like the roll-bar-in-car solution.

Atlanta... Hrm... I have a feeling finding a racing supply store will be "doable" in that area...

(May have a line on some SNAIL shipping.... @hognhominy - da MAN!)

Man I would so take a detour on that trip and find my way to the Blue Ridge Parkway!!!! Most notably a plase called Deal's Gap. 11 miles, 217 turns of a section lovingly nicknamed "The Tail of the Dragon". AMAZING!!!

After a PS3 blowup this week. I will not be able to compete this Sunday. Got a donated console from a buddy, should be up for the new season next week. Good luck Div. 7 guys.

Ya know what sucks, I didn't save anything before the crash so. I have to start from scratch and race all the series again. Gonna be a long week. And a long lonely load.

I don't know if talking about other sims is ok here but, since my PS3 died, I signed up for the basic Iracing package. I have a big honking gaming PC playing on a 60inch plasma. Wow, I love it. Don't get me wrong, I have had every GT game ever made and I love it, but I cannot believe how much more realistic Iracing is than 6. I figured 15 bucks for three months wouldn't kill me.
Graphics are amazing, I am pushing 84 fps. what sucks is the expense, $11 per extra track, $11 per extra car. If you want to race a whole series you have to own all the tracks in the series. Cha ching, adds up quick. Only an in car view, why? dunno. Maybe to hold the memory cache down for better fps? FF is the best. Set at 35%, perfect. You can still set the wheel rotation the same way as GT6. 7 decent cars and 7 tracks,(a few ovals and a few road courses) come in the basic signup. Not bad. All in all a very nice sim. 👍
:gtpflag:

Finally got a new ps3 up and running late last night, just in time to run some laps with Drgreen and AJK. Updating GT6 must have taken 3 hours. I'll be racing tomorrow even if I'm only comfortable enough to drive around the back and gain positions through attrition.

my location is "The Dragon" in German, as I am usually at The Dragon in German.

Actively trying to convince HB to come hang out on his way back.

Went to the killboy website expecting awesome pics...it says he's been doing it there since 2001 so he ought to be damn good...but those are not very good photos. Unless the guy is just hiring photographers off of Craigslist...

If you are going to have business selling photos, at least have some damn good photos on the front page...I hate being critical but if you have been doing it for 14yrs...these should be ALOT better.

I stumbled upon Skyline BLVD out here in CA a while back, a pleasant surprise!! A month or so later I ended up seeing a car show on tv running a lambo through it. The hosts said it's the west coast equivalent of the tail... Check it out if you can...

I also was really looking forward to this weekend's combos as two out of three are race cars. Instead I had to work the weekend Hopefully the Camaro SS stays around for next week. I know I have next Sunday off.

I just set up my permanent day off for Wednesday so I can race every week in the SNAIL Race Car Series. I'm gonna find out if I can make it so I can't work past 8pm on Sundays. It would force my only shifts to be 11a-7p or 12p-8p. I don't think they'll like that because I'm good at working a night truck and the weekends always have more on the truck.
