my location is "The Dragon" in German, as I am usually at The Dragon in German.

Actively trying to convince HB to come hang out on his way back.

I used to drive that when it had a 55mph speed limit, there was no traffic and no cops:)

The NA GTA results won't be made public until the show is aired.
Look at BRDC and other regional UK and European race entrys for a familiar name chocking up races for his international licence(s). You might find many of the regional winners chocking up experience for their Blanc Pain debuts. Just a thought.

Here is the addition to the I love me room...

Someone add me to the list

NH 67....that blew the average:crazy: D 6

I didn't realize that I made that typo lol. My point was that it was voted in the top 5 most beautiful roads in north america. The one thing to remember is that most of it is carved into the mountain with very steep drop offs and by the time you get through it you will be begging for a straight away!!! 3 years ago they prohibit log trucks, campers and, rv's from traversing the pass. Even though they lowered the speed limit years ago it's still going to be the ride of a lifetime just trying to maintain the posted limit due to nature of most of the corners. Just please be careful as you find yourself as the odd 4-wheeler in the middle of sport bike country. Take pics and BE SAFE!!!

Just researched. Its definitely a DDoS attack. Looks like no SNAIL for this week.. Hopefully they get it back online soon. Definitely will be seeing a update.

Quick Update: Lizard Squad apparently attacked PSN along with other site last night. Sony is working on fixing the issues. I am still unable to sign in but am able to verify licensing for games.

Went to the killboy website expecting awesome pics...it says he's been doing it there since 2001 so he ought to be damn good...but those are not very good photos. Unless the guy is just hiring photographers off of Craigslist...

If you are going to have business selling photos, at least have some damn good photos on the front page...I hate being critical but if you have been doing it for 14yrs...these should be ALOT better.

I thought the road pics on Killboy were pretty static. I would think adding perspective, add some vertical, and get a better sense of place... I saw the guy uses UAV for video, I wonder if it isn't stable enough for photos? I have been wondering how much camera-equipped quad-copters could improve TV viewing of road races, offroad racing, rally, whitewater rafting, skiing or snowboarding, etc. Similar to the 'helicopter shot' when a team is following a driver at the Baja 1000, Dakar, and so on.

Tail will be very weather and time dependent for me this trip. I am a bit leery in a new to me car, and in the wet... Unlikely. I want to be done driving before dark, especially if it is wet. Vision issues keep me cautious.

OK - looks like I probably found a keeper! HUGE shout out to @JoeW for giving me the lead.

1988 Porsche Carrera Targa

Getting inspected Monday am (poss Tuesday), but with MANY photos from the owner, there aren't any 'missing parts' on this one. I will fly to Atlanta Thursday night, and pick this up on Friday. If all goes well, I'll either drive it home or come home via Auto-Train. I *should* be in SNAIL racing on Sunday night next week, but if not, I'm not going to care. Wheee!!!!

I really, really hope the Pre Purchase Inspection goes well. :gtpflag:

Sweet! Stop by Charlottesville and let me have a drive!

That is a cool maybe - Roanoke is my halfway-ish waypoint. Does it matter if it is North to South or not?

North or South doesn't matter! Why not make a road trip and stop by in Canada LOL!! It's only a few thousand miles out of your way... the Targa will eat the road!

Yeah...get used to the car before you do the crazy stuff. It is dynamically different and will require getting used to.

Hi everhone. I'm new to GT but have some track experience and a bit of iRacing. Would love to try racing with you if you are accepting new members.

Thanks

Andy

@awsisme

Here's your official S.N.A.I.L. Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below. Now if you've actually read this, post a :dunce: on the main thread.

6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

It's a very real possibility that Sony will have the servers up and running by this evening.

Don't get me wrong, I was just thinking of it for the beauty of the drive in a very nice sports car. I definitely would never try to talk some one into something that could potentially harm them. I simply thought of how I would love to drive the road again and in knowing how beautiful the scenery is would enjoy every moment. By all means was I not trying to get you to bonzai the corners in a new to you vehicle that you no doubtidly saved your hard earned cash for. I was just thinking in face value. Gorgeous car, gorgeous road = unforgettable experience! Either way, good luck with the car and I hope you have a very safe trip. BTW, check out footage of the tail of the dragon on youtube.

Looks like PSN is still down as of 11 am EST.

I saw some tweets from the "Lizard Squad" guys who did the DDoS attack - at first glance (and second...) - a group of losers, without an agenda, living at home, clearly lacking normal social interaction or people skills...

Saw there was a 6.0-6.1 in Napa/Sonoma area, over 50 injured. Best wishes on speedy recovery to all affected.

I sure hope the '88 Targa handles better than the RUF '86 on Sports Mediums on Trial Mountain...

I was on the phone with customer support for over an hour trying to find out whats going on. I am able to sign in, and able to get online, But PS Store is being updated.

PSN is back up now. Hopefully there are no more attacks on the servers.

Edit: As vertigo stated, they are not back up. I was able to sign in at 11:30 EST, but as of right now, they are under maintenance.

Yea it woke me and my wife. We are about 30 miles away. We were actually in Napa yesterday.

Still down for me. Guess I have to watch baseball instead of race!:banghead:
I am also on the east coast, logged in when I got up this morning no problem, but after eating breakfast I noticed I was logged out. I still can't log-in either. Good time to watch the Belgian GP (no spoilers please, lol).

Sweet, another F1 fan. I already watched the race, but anyone else follow Formula 1 closely? I also watch TUDOR United Sports Car Championship which has Continental Tire Championship and I watch Pirelli World Challenge, but F1 is the only that I really pay attention to the drivers, teams, news, points, etc. The others have too much to follow and I just enjoy the great racing battles.
