Sound Issues:
1) Last night I could not hear my tires or engine.
Result? Missing shift points and locking up the front brakes at tight cornering (indicated by sudden loss of steering control - my poor braking craft, of course)
2) Higher volume of other car's engines and tire sounds - irritating to say the least.
3) When ALL sounds were lost it was near impossible to drive or consider continuing in the races.
This is written for the benefit of the Monitors.

I'll add that a few people in tonight's enduro race have had some problems too with sound. I too have had some problems as well in the past few days.

Once in a while, Kaz and his Poliphony digital crew decide to present us some add ons to this beautiful game in an honest attempt of making it even better and the time and drift trials, the VGT cars, the Goodwin festival of speed and stuff are good examples of that.
But sometimes, they throw us authentic digital trash in an attempt to make us throw up or throw the game into the trash can!
This "Quick Match" thing is the most disgusting thing I ever seen in Granturismo. It's even worst than the poor graphics in GT1 and 2.
It's basically based in those horror houses random rooms with a twist... Doesn't have a host to put order in it and you can't communicate with the mayhem lovers in that room. 98% of the croud is dirty as ****, the skid recovery force is on and it races ALWAYS on the same track!!! 500 pp races at GVE, 600pp at Deep Forest, little Europeans in the red bull small and Super GT in Fugi. I thought tracks would change every hour, every day, every SOMETHING!!! But no!!! Always the same tracks!.
Beyond ridiculous, quick match is simply stupid and useless.
I quite like driving away from the idiots as they run off track trying to hit me. I guess when you're making money like I am in the quick match, its easier to like. I've had a lot of fun.

Due to someone moving the file, and me having to spend 30 minutes chasing it down, moving it and resetting permissions, the only way to change your data on,

is by using this form.

It has also come to my attention that there may be, less than accurate data, submitted. This data collection is completely voluntary and by no means affects any part of your SNAIL racing. If you don't want to add your true age to the data sheet, then don't add anything at all. If you are one of those people that didn't submit accurate data, let me know in a PM, if you're brave enough to, and I'll remove your data from the sheet. If you wish to correct the data previously entered, use the form. All those that have added erroneous data to that file are just skewing the numbers being published and making the effort put forth, pretty much worthless. Thanks.

This is a nice banner format. Their photographs are always incredible. Replace the grand prix name with the track name, the dates with the lap info, and the flag with a track map. They should still be the width they are now, the F1 banners are much thinner. Thoughts?

Sounds quite similar to the original banner format from a ways back.

I like the new look - and I like it best when the track outline is visible, whether by composition, or whatever the photo guys talk about. Those ones your referenced in Formula1 were cool, but I prefer ours now.

Last night I experienced loss of all sound of MY CAR while hearing amplified sound from the other 2 cars. (Imagine the cacophony of noise with 10 or so)
One suggestion made by a SNAIL Brother was to use the Automatic Transmission - Just in Case that happens during the qualifying or race.
I used it in a couple of races and it wasn't tooooo bad - just my driving ability, or lack of it.
So, until PD gets the Sound issues resolved, you might consider it.

The only time you'll catch me using an auto in GT is when I'm forced to, with a Prius or Leaf. If anyone picks any of those for our Sunday races, I'll pull my hair out.

In the Blancpain Endurance race at Nurburgring GP, it has been an insanely wet race. At times it's dried out, but for the most part it's been raining throughout. Alex Buncombe ran the first 2 sessions (~65 minutes each) and went from 13th to 1st and went into the pit with a 17 second lead. Florian Strauss went in second and immediately dropped some places because of taking tires and adjusting to the conditions. He is currently running 5th overall and 1st in Pro-Am.

The race is currently under a complete course caution. Nick (@GumballCGT) is scheduled to get in the car next, any lap now. Check that, Strauss just pit and stayed in the car. Nick will likely will be out in an hour.

Did you watch a previous broadcast of a good F1 race?

This race was pretty awful to my eyes. Not very exciting, track is poor for passing, almost like watching a faster version of the Monaco track.

I wasted a couple of hours watching this one...in my opinion.

This happened Wednesday night for one of the RCS drivers. He lived with it for the first race but it became unworkable for him during the second. I agree with people that if you cannot hear your own car's sounds, consider it a blown motor, catastrophic brake failure, or whatever it takes to allow you to step away without that red rage of disappointment some experience when things don't go their way. The same could be used if you can't see another car on track. It just wasn't your day. Sorta like Kimi's Q3 outlap this morning.

I changed over to Automatic gearbox and did a personal best on Silverstone without sound. Wife was happy.... not because of the lap time, but because the living room was quiet!!

I couldn't agree more. While running in automatic transmission mode does sort of fix the engine problem it does not help those few of us who run DS3 controllers who rely on heavily on the sounds of our tires when they are at the edge of grip. Truthfully, I'm mostly worried about becoming a hazard to other drivers around me due to the potential of me making more mistakes. In snail we all strive to provide each other with the cleanest races possible and I find that it's too much to have to keep one eye on the track, one eye on my speed through any given corner and, one eye on people around me. All of this imo is too much given the added distraction of hearing other cars around me and mistaking thier sounds for my own. I'll give it my ALL as an attempt but, I don't want to be the cause of being the reason that some one else could have a bad night.

Couldn't agree more. I love racing as much as the next guy but if I can't hear my car I will just provide scoring for the night.
