Oh gentleman! We (here in my neck of the woods) are currently in the midst of "Hot August Nights"... A week long celebration in Reno, NV, celebrating all things Hot Rod and American vintage and muscle. To see that one special car as the sun reflects off the metal flake and candy paint brings me instantly back to being 8 years old opening a brand new Hot Wheels masterpiece... It really makes me appreciate this league and what it stands for. It is more than just gaming and competition, it is a true love of automobiles. Man, I can't wait to race the Camaro! :)

Wish I could be a part of it but I wouldn't be able to participate for the whole season. Maybe next summer I'll have a chance.

Full reset #5 didn't fix it. Still telling me my memory is corrupted and keeps restoring system, restarts, tells me I need 2.07 for GT5, then memory needs restoring, and repeats the cycle. I think the machine is hosed. The wireless DS controllers are not being recognized either.

Even worse, I figured out what email I used for the home and son's account, but I cannot figure out which of my emails I used for Handlebar-Man. Adding insult to injury, I think I even made up a birthday on that account to get a prize ticket, and of course, that is the method Sony uses to verify your account for a password reset...

This would be funny if it were not so annoying.

Good Morning, everyone.

It may not be your whole machine, Handlebar, but just the hard drive. I know you can replace that independently.

I'm no tech guru, though, I just get by, so you might want to google your problem. It's surely happened to someone else before.

Sucks about your account info, though.

And now... Off to the ER. Daughter has some bizarre swelling that looks like she went 3 rounds of MMA... Is it raining frogs?

Good Lord, Handlebar. Sorry about all of this crap. I hope everything settles down quickly and easily.

Why do kids always get sick on the weekend?

Fortunately, she only had a spider bite, ugly, but not too bad. Figured out the email that has Handlebar-Man, but not the password or birthdate I used.

Replacement hard drives are not seemingly immediately available. And there's the cost/benefit balance - the range is about $80-$130 for a 200-500 size drive that should fix the problem vs $299 for all new. The drive does seem stupidly easy to replace, but I'm not in my "patient place", I suppose. I'll got get a new set once daughter is settled down.

I had a 3D/MOVE combo, so those features should work on any of the new PS3 combos I purchase, right?

[Found new 320 G replacement drives for $50 at local computer supply shop - giving that a try first]

// new HD installed, testing on main acct, but I am hopeful... //

{{ System works... but now maps load wonderful fast, cars accelerate just fine until... 88 mph, then they run into glue... blech... }}

Good news about your daughter :)

For the new unit, if you don't need the HD space, the 160GB keeps $50 in your pocket. That's what I did when making my rig space (wife did not want to give up the old fat as she uses PSN for movies). BUT, if your PS3 has no other issues apart from the HD, I'd change just the HD. My new slim is not as good as my fat, and I think it is unit to unit and not generation to generation, so stick with one that is working well (my 2¢).

And I think the Move should just transfer over if you do go new. As you can buy it as an add-on, I imagine it just transfers when connected.

esh
I am officially on hiatus indefinitely.

Bummer for us esh, good luck getting everything settled 👍

And thanks for letting us know, appreciated.

Let us know when you're ready to race again :)

Okay, one more driver for STaTS II, and we will open a second class.

Somewhere in that thread, I said I would be a driver if there was a second class. I don't see myself on the drivers list. I guess what I'm asking is if I tune and drive, do we have enough for a second division right now? If that's the case, I would like to drive as well as tune.

I'm sorry. I so didn't see that. Then yes!

Also, tomorrow (Or whenever D1 accepts my FR) I will send you guys a Level 18 ticket to add to the Prize C list

I might be late for the races tomorrow night, working on moving into my new dorm at college :) I'll do my best to show up at some point though!

Hey guys, someone sent me a PSN message to check this out, so I did... and I'm interested in signing up for some races. What do I have to do? :)
