Can I join?

Hi TheYaShoe,
Thanks for your interest. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires selected for this have more grip than our current tire regulations allow, but please follow the directions exactly anyways).
2. You PM kcheeb with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
3. I assign you to the division that I fell will give you the closest competition.
4. I send you a you a PSN friend request from the corresponding SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That PSN account's lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.
6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

Please note that we often race DLC from three add-on packs:

Racing Car Pack
Course Pack
Twin Ring Motegi Pack

If you don't have these add-on packs, you will need to sit out the races in which they are used.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in this thread.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Hey, no worries here. That is the most fun I have had in a race for a long time. The racecraft in div. 3 is the best I have seen. My hat is off for the people who put together the S.N.A.I.L. racing league.👍:dopey::)

Thanks for the kind words! More importantly, thanks for racing with us! After one night of racing with you, I already know that you're exactly the kind of driver we're looking for. 👍

Can someone upload D2 replays please. I have an hour available tonight, and might not have time again this week. I'm having a second look at D4 replays from 2 weeks ago just for fun while I'm waiting.

My drift event lobby is now open. Keep in mind that it is a public lobby so if you want to join I suggest you get here quick!

And congrats to Apmaddock for the great win!

Of course he is. He is from Ohio:)

D2 are on their way up now.

Hey zero5ive how do I claim my gtpedia copy?

I haven't seen the post answering armedmen's question about claiming the GTPedia prize. How does that work?

Sorry for the delay guys. I've coordinated the GTPEDIA redemption codes with Jordan, but I still need to enter them into a spreadsheet that's used to keep track of who's using which code. I should have that done by tomorrow and will PM the winners when ready.

I love this guy:tup::dopey:

And while we are at it...why not the second prize choose Nascar Racecars....💡

Love both cars... But they do not promote close, clean racing! :grumpy:

Anyway, just Golded the seasonal with AJ Almendinger brand new car and got a bunch of cloths that I will never wear!

Anyone care for a yellow helmet?

Sorry I had to bail on you and Danger so quickly. Would have been fun to get some more PP cap practice in. Or hop in the FGT's:scared:

I don't see how the fgt doesn't promote close racing, if you come out of a turn close to someone it's almost a guaranteed pass. Not having the skills to drive a car doesn't mean it's not good for close racing, it means you need to work on your skills with that car.

That is true, but it may not be a good combo for everyone throughout the league, especially if people try to go side by side through the bustop chicane

Knowing your limits is part of being a good driver, and that's a course issue, not a car issue.

Didn't mean for my post to sound quite that offensive but I just got back from the gym so I'm raging right now lol

Also there's been a lot of bitching on the forum lately

I don't have a big objection to cars like the fgt but the thing is cars that are a little easier to drive usually promote closer racing. If everyone practiced enough with the fgt to be good with it it could have close racing but my guess is a lot of people would struggle with it. The other thing I noticed is it eats tires fast. We'd be doing six or seven laps with it which on rms might be hard to do. Fun car to drive just not sure I'd want to race it.

Sooo is that your pick or are you still deciding?

Yes this is my choice

Interesting note about the FGT in its description: the most advanced electronic driver aids have also been implemented: ABS, TCS, launch control and even EBD for optimized braking capabilities have all been incorporated.

Maybe an exception for allowing the use of traction control could be made for all divisions instead of just D5 with this car?

It's honestly quite a bit faster without TCS. Compared to some of the more powerful FR cars we've driven, I think it handles very well. The difficulty is mostly just that everything happens so ridiculously fast.

I'm actually a bit bummed, because I just found out I won't be able to race this weekend. I've always wanted to give the FGT a try in SNAIL. :(
