Going to try out the Art Morrison Vette in about half hour. I actually won Prize A once in GT5 and picked that same car.
It's heavy and the brakes suck so you need more braking room than you might think. And it has horrible understeer on turn in.

Fine by me! I'll just take the keys to that corvette then, and be on my way! :sly:
I think maybe you already have.

It has a Michigan plate. Might not be yours.

anybody got the lap/qualifying for round 1 and 2?

I don't remember the Lotus times - at 154-160+ Mph, they have to be under a minute, though.
Guessing 11-12 laps for Combo 1.

Combo 2 - The Corvette at Spa - @Oshawa-Joe was getting in the 2:32 range in his first few practice laps. I really hope @Dragonwhisky leaves this at four laps. Tires were getting very slick on that fifth lap, and I personally believe that is not likely to end well in a fifth lap manuever...

I am actually thinking of buying one of those:) How do you like yours?
It a great little car. I like it because its very much a drivers car. And what i mean by that is there are no bell and whistles on it like today's modern cars. It's just you, the car, radio, and AC/heat (or put your windows down). What more do you need! My biggest suggestion, if you do get one, is to give it some more power. This is where i feel the car lacks during daily driving. For performance events some springs, shocks, and sway bars would be a good addition. There are plenty of these cars out there, a lot of them here in Michigan, and their owners are pretty passionate about them and keep the cars in pretty good condition for being 10 year old daily driver cars. Gas mileage is good on them also, i get around middle to high 20's year round, I am currently on a mission to break 30 with it :dopey: by never going over 3000 rpm. Price isn't too bad either, anywhere between $2500 - $8000.

Round 1 will be 12 race laps and 5 qualifying minutes (4 laps) 5 minutes is the lowest time qualifying can be set for.

Round 2 will be 4 race laps and 6 qualifying minutes (2 laps)
It's a pity we'll only get 4 laps on this round. The car doesn't even start feeling good until lap 6, once you've run some fuel and tire off. I know there are several folks that have nothing but disdain for changing brake balance but, I will advise those that tend to brake deep into corners and don't have a problem with it, to reduce your front and increase the rear. This car goes like stink in a straight line, but it stinks like hell when asked to actually change direction. Nothing but understeer everywhere.

Just for reference, in my testing, I turned a 2:31.2xx at Spa, but that was on lap 6 after running down to 9s on the tires and 3/4 tank of fuel, and a 56.274 at Daytona.

Yea I want it as it will just be a toy for all the nice twisty roads around here. I agree that it ultimately needs more power but to start I will just get used to how it is. I am looking at a black 3dr with 76k miles for under 5k. What should I look out for? I agree about it being a driver focused car without all the nanny electronics of new cars. And for less than 5k I am not sure there is a better Fwd car I could find.

So Combo #3 remains the same again?

I really wish we could have more laps at Spa, and with a better handling car but it's still Spa. Everyone just know your limits and realize the car is a little under that.

For qualifying, would we ever consider making it a hard 10 minutes that way no matter what it's accounted for and we never go "over time" in terms of what we account for?

Interesting combo for round 2, not just for the feel of the car and circuit but for the curiousity of how people will customize their cars.

And good ol' round 3 combo, surely I don't screw it up for a third time

Tip for anyone wanting to avoid spending credits on engine and chassis rebuilds: Back up your game save before a practice session. Restore your save when you are done instead of spending credits on refreshing the engine and chassis.
