Yea, I brought that up in the F1 board and those smart guys figured it out all the issues with doing that as well. Best thing to do is just scrap it all together.

I don't know what people expect out of qualifying. From a team standpoint you want as few laps on your car as possible with the best time possible.

No, you want as many opportunities to get your fastest lap possible.
That is from a spectator's standpoint.

From a team standpoint realistically you want to go out run 1 lap be super fast and park it. You want as little wear and tear on your equipment as possible.

Mercedes has proven that yet again during Q1 and Q2.

They aren't really worried about reliability so much anymore. It's just about getting on track and getting fast laps.

Of course they are and always will be. Stuff breaks on a car and the longer you use it the more stuff can break. it's not like they are NHRA where they rebuild the engine after every run.

I completely agree with Birdy. Remember, you're talking about PROFESSIONAL drivers. Pros do not need more than 2 or 3 laps to lay down their best time. Anything professional Motorsport does beyond that is strictly for the show.

Suggestion:
Next stop on The Rocket Tour - Rome or Grand Valley East.
Just a thought.
Can't, it hits rev limiter on those tracks. :( This is a list of all tracks that it doesn't do that:

-Brands Hatch - All variations
-Tsukuba
-Laguna Seca
-Monaco
-Autumn Ring - All variations
-Cape Ring North
-Trial Mountain - Forward & Reverse

Quick update.

We had engine issues from the start. Tried several fixes that didn't work. Car was great in 3rd gear, 4th gear to 4700, then it just sputtered and 5th only good at under 3300. Top speed was 89 mph, so we were a hazard out there. We replaced plus, plug wires, ignition control, checked the fuel pump, relays, etc.

I was in the car last, so I kept going out for a few laps at a time to test things. Finally thought maybe it was a speed limiter. So remapped the computer and we were able to go hard to 5k in 4th. 5th still sucked. Then we came to the pits and removed the speed sensor from the transmission and BAM, the car was alive. To redline in 4th and 5th.

I was running 2:29's and it was awesome. I did about 10 laps before my uncle got in the car. He was about 2:40s for an hour. My cousin is in the car until 7:15 and just beat my fast lap. My brother will be in from 7:20 to 9, then me from 9 to 10, with my cousin taking the final hour.

Livestream.com hasn't been reliable today. Sorry about that.
