Sometimes I'm just in a silly mood and I forget I'm not at work. :)

Did you see this from Pitt Race today at the SCCA Majors race? It happened early on and they cancelled everything after group 2. One of my teammates family members was there racing, but not in that race. I guess the throttle stuck and he went right into the tire wall, which caught fire. My guess is that this is the final turn of the track, looking down from the Event Center. No injuries, which is a good thing.

Holy crap! Naw, I haven't seen anything about it yet. Glad everybody is ok. I'll be there for round 1 if the rental season this Friday. Karting suits aren't designed to be flame retardant though... :) wish me luck!

All hosts are clear to start the night's racing at the scheduled time. I am not racing tonight but I may be hopping into some rooms and spot checking a few things so if you see me in your room tonight, I won't have a mic on and I'm just looking around.

A quick spot check of lobby settings has shown that our room hosts really, really, really need to read this and apply it to setting up their rooms.

SNAIL Race Lobby Settings

According to the letter of the law, all rooms that are not set up in accordance with the official SNAIL settings would be deemed ineligible for prizes. Four of the five divisions were not set up properly. With that in mind, the Board of Directors will have to discuss the situation before an official decision is made.

Hosts need to be more careful when setting up the rooms for Sunday race night.

I must say congratulations to D1 as they were the only division that had all settings correct tonight.

D2 has the race quality set to "very high" instead of "high" and mechanical damage was set to "none" when it should be set to "light."

D3 had the PP limit set to 899 PP for the FGT combo when it should have been at 884.

D4 had the room set as fixed host with a host that is not approved to run rooms as fixed host.

D5 had the country restriction set to Germany for round 2 when two cars are allowed. One is from Germany and one is from the UK so the country restriction should have been left off.

Edit: I'm also noticing that D5 needs to move things along. It's currently 11:25 ET and they are still on Combo 2. If you're having connection issues you need to follow the procedures in the SNAIL Policies and Guidelines sections. There is a specific amount of time you wait for drivers to return to the room and then you get started.

My apologies to the BoD and my division for not taking more pride in my duties as host. Enough save settings slots and plenty of time to save the correct settings to them for race night. I'll get it right next time ;)

Well, first the Nissan Zytek now the Formula GT.. I think is time to accept what I always thougt about myself; My reflexes are too slow.
I can't do a lap without braking too early, too late or divebombing into someone with these high grip fast cars.

Really missed you in D3 tonight :indiff:

I used to think that about myself too, you have to work harder on making sure your eyes are looking in the right places to make up for it. You have to give yourself as much time to react as possible by knowing where to look and what to look for. My reaction times are... around average, or slightly below...

I was horrible tonight in both races in the Formula GT car. I kept spinning out and no way to get control of the vehicle. Hoping that much slower cars , at least one or so is picked in the new combo's since we did race 3 different race cars tonight.

I'm in 100% agreement with you Champ. I could not keep that car planted.

Really missed you in D3 tonight :indiff:
Coming from you Birdy I can almost sense some sarcasm in that statement :odd:....lol

None of my biz really, not on the BoD, didn't race but, what's to discuss? All divisions but D1 are ineligible so, top 3 in D1 get to pick combos.

Now to open up a bigger can. What would happen if all divisions became ineligible? :mischievous:

I gather that not many enjoyed Combo 3. I sure did. After many weeks being away due to work reasons I came back last night. I floundered in combo 1 and 2 but came to life in combo 3. I love controlling the uncontrollable. (I gave you the Yellow Bird at Autumn mini). That's not the say I didn't spin in the first race but I still finished in 2nd (0.1 seconds behind the leader). The second race I realized I had to conserve tires and did so and ended up second again (tire wear 8) this time two seconds behind the leader. I wish everyone would give combo 3 a chance. Mister Rogers wants to know; can you say "throttle control"? I knew you could!
