DP only you could drive from Canada to Hawaii , ha ha

A man picked up a lamp on the San Francisco beach and rubbed it. Out comes the genie and asked him what his wish is. He said he always wanted to visit Hawaii but he is too afraid to fly or to take a boat. Can the Genie build him a bridge so that he can drive there. The genie says that is the first time ever that he got an impossible request and he has to make the exception and ask the man if he can wish for something else. The man then said he just broke up with his girlfriend and it was ugly and he feel very sad. He asked if the genie can give him the ability to understand women so that he can treat his girl nice and be happy. The genie said to him: "That bridge to Hawaii, do you want it to be two lanes or four?..."

My bad folks, missed a few posts. I was using Birdy's example of TEX and RacingChamp.

But yea, let's drive to Hawaii!

Woo, talk about "never lift".

Great Idea. ( Ignore the bird's actions, for he does not know what he does is wrong) I have a G27 collecting dust somewhere. No pedals, I use the pedals with the T300. Keep me in mind when making the list.

On the subject. I need a set of pedals for my old G27 if anyone has one.

That joke is probably older than me

@whatbadgerseat just concluded his 2nd day at the SCCA Solo Nationals. He and his 1999 Corvette finished 10th out of 48 in B-Street to earn a Trophy. Brian was sitting in 15th after day 1, one place out of the trophies, but stepped up his game when it mattered, running the 9th fastest time of the day in his class. Congrats @whatbadgerseat!

Also, the B-Street winner was Joseph Barbato, who is (was) JoeyFast222 on GT6 and went to GT Academy. I'm pretty sure Joey's brother made it to GTA at Silverstone as well.

Guy who is close to PD just posted this: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/posts/11534960/

Relevant part:
"That and by April next year Online play on PS3 will end... apparently"

Well, I certainly hope GT7 is out by April. That doesn't seem likely, as GTS was delayed until next year already. If PD doesn't have a logical transition from one game to the next, they might as well kiss all the loyal gamers who have stuck around this long good bye.

That's what I'm thinking. If this really happens, they'll be without a title for a little while and that will be the death kneel of the company.
I still can't believe this is true, but this dude has always had good intel on PD's plans.
If true, they are done; no way they get enough people back whenever, if ever, GT7 comes out.

I'm pretty sure I read an article awhile back that Kaz has stated GTSport is GT7

Polyphony Digital is a joke anymore.

Unfortunately, the same entity that gave us the great platform for controllable spec racing is also going to kill it.

As soon as they got into bed with the FIA GT went from a game for players & friends to have fun with to a business ecosystem revolving around making another buck. They are leveraging their reputation in an attempt to get 15 million players paying for online racing licenses, subscription fees, hardware expenditures and anything else they can get us to pay for. They fail to realize how those 15 million will amount to about 150,000 that will consider it worth their dollars, if that many. Have a look at iRacing's active player base. Don't think it even exceeds 50K. I'd bet most of those are folks with more money than they know what to do with.

Sony will not be getting any of my dollars for a PS4, nor will PoDi be getting any for a game that promises to be unsuitable for online play or general fun with friends. It will be centered around pay to play leagues on top of the PSN subscription. If the organizers of the eleagues and events can manage to secure some television coverage in various markets those cats will start really rolling in advertising dollars.

They are not in it for the art any longer. I will get my racing fixes elsewhere.

I sort of agree however in asia E sports was already a huge television market using GT, mortal kombat, CoD just to name a few.

I too don't blame sony for PD lack of foresight, and sony has a lot of impressive games coming out ME Andromeda (multiplatform) new God of War (sony exclusive), Titanfall 2 and more.

however everything being said about GTS is horrific and will open the door for Pcars and other developments to take huge swaths out of the PD market share they may even fall into the death trap of games like Need for speed.

My 2 cents: I think we should all sit tight before placing opinion on what GTS might or might not be. Aside from the FIA/GT Sport online section, there seems to be a dedicated "community online" based on screenshots I've seen, and it has been mentioned that GT Sport will provide the familar experience we have been used used to. I've played Pcars and AC, and neither have given me anywhere near the online experience GT has over the last few years, so for me until I play and confirm that an open online community is no longer available, only then will I place my judgement.

They just backed up the release date by one year.

Judgement made.
As unfinished as GT5 and GT6 was , it was no where near how rushed and incomplete AC feels, and even though I was well late to the party and acquired PCars after alot of adds and issues were cleared up, I have read in the forums how incomplete it was in the beginning. I'm sure the same could happen with some aspects of GT Sport since that seems to be the trend these days, but the delay imo could be worth the wait rather than having another rushed title. Guess I'm a glass half full point of view. Only time will tell.

Yeah, pretty much everything releases broken nowadays. It's ridiculous. I'm all for these games being released without major bugs. I think adding content is ok as long as they are not skimping on major features; like a track creator that took how many YEARS to finally be added?... But th bottom line for many is how poorly PD has always handled the release of a new title. 15 years of doing this and they are still making the same marketing mistakes. A month or two or three is reasonable, but they've been saying fall 2016 ALL YEAR. Now it's a 1-Year+ delay?! GTFO. There are options these days (other games, we're all older now and many have more income to throw at other disciplines of racing). It's gotten way old at this point. I won't jump to conclusions as to what GTS will actually be like, but since PD has a long standing reputation for not improving the way they handle these situations I expect more of the same... Broken promises.
