I'll have an early bird practice lobby open tonight if one isnt already up. Sounds like Thursday practice is dedicated to ROC practice, so if you want a head start with the new combos tonight is your chance. I'll make sure I host it in a public lobby, and not through the club lobby as suggested by @Raw10_2u in hopes of new recruits.
Edit: oops, @JamCar0ne 's suggestion

And a quick question, are replays archived on google drive? Or are they deleted after IRs clear for that week? If they're kept, how far back in time do they go?

You can open a room in the club lobby and make it public can you not?

Re the replays: If you are looking for the replays of the Miata combo races from July last I still have them. I can send them to you if you wish.

Yeah, thats what I usually do is host a room through the club lobby, but set it to public. Jams idea was to host a public lobby but not through the community/club. That way when people are searching for lobbies it'll appear like the rest of them. Whereas the club lobbies appear in green, which may deter people from joining. Its worth a shot.

Someone hosted a lobby on Sunday night before we raced and had slipstream strength set to high accidentally. Yeah not a huge deal, but we might as well practice under the same conditions come Sunday race night.

I highly recommend people save lobby settings from correct practice lobbies as its so much easier to host a room quickly without fumbling around on here looking for info about PP/HP and room settings. If you see me hosting a room it will say "SNAILracing.org for more info" (which I stole from someone, and have yet to see again lol), and you can be sure all the room settings are correct. All I do is change the car and track as combos change weekly. everything else stays the same.

Yeah I'd like to see them heat, but maybe they're already archived. Thanks

All SNAIL drivers,

Project International Touring Series (PITS) will be streaming LIVE. Starting at 9:00EST

BE. THERE.

Here's a quick answer. The Replay Archive goes back to at least August 30 2015. You may have to wait a bit while the scroll bar catches up to get down to the bottom of the list. Or perhaps just sort by date oldest to newest.

You may need to log in to your google account to hit the page and downloading should be as easy as clicking that button to the left of the file name.

Practice lobby open. You wont see it through the club, just join me through friends or search for twin ring motegi and you'll see it

Hey guys, I need ya suggestions. I'm looking to buy another used car or new car in the 20k-25k range. Even cheaper is fine as well, as long as the price is good for the car. I'm getting bored and need a new performance, sporty daily driver as us car enthusiasts would assume right off the bat. I have a few in mind that I am considering but I will like to get you guys opinion on why your suggestion suits me. I'm hoping to sell my car at least between 8-9k.

1: I don't want a mustang, camaro or challenger.

2: I prefer european but like asian brands as well. I don't necessarily like American brands to own but I do like some Ford hatches "also considering"

3: Optional Manual Transmission and/or Dual Clutch is preferred or if car doesn't come with a manual option that's ok. It depends on the car.

4: RWD and AWD preferred but open to fwd.

5: Model year preferred 2007+

Thanks

STi/WRX? Hatch or sedan, and good in the snow too. Should be in the price range for the age you want.

Since you dissappointingly ruled out what I'd point you to I can only say one thing.

Audi.

This one is 4 wheel or should I say 4 feet drive. Quite economical on gas

I have a feeling I shared some of this before, but... Some time in 2012 I decided to do the 24-hr Race at Circuit de la Sarthe in GT5. I did it over a 3-day long weekend - 8 hrs per day with 2 to 4 hr stints. It was the same time as the 2012 Olympics and my wife wanted to see the track and field finals live. So, between Usain Bolt's events, breakfast, lunch, dinner, sleep time, wife time, shower time and what not I had to find 2-4 hour gaps to run the race. I developed a "project schedule" for the three days and got it done. I used the Toyota GT-One. A bit of a handful, but I was saved by the rain..... about 16 of the 24 hours were in the pouring rain. I had the down force at max and the traction control at 8. I didn't gain much in good weather, but I made time up in leaps and bounds in the rain against the AI. I eventually finished with a 14 lap advantage.

The picture below shows one of my "in the zone" stints where laps 265, 266 and 267 were all completed within a half a second of each other - 17 hours into the race (in the rain....).

Are we allowed to advertise SNAIL in the online GT6 subforum here? Or does anyone have any ideas to increase membership and exposure? While there have been a couple new members that have joined lately, it seems like once active people are no longer active. D2 only had 5 drivers last night. When I host a practice lobby I keep it public and use the lobby title "SNAILracing.org for more info." And I know a lot of people have moved on from PS3/GT6 which is probably the reason why there are no longer 7? full divisions. Itd just be nice to have 10+ drivers across all divisions on Sundays.

It appears a lot of people have left for ps4 and the newer updated and revised look of racing. I think there are also many other reasons why there has been a drop off in SNAIL. The recipe although tasty at first starts to get a little old / boring. There isn't enough revision to keep things fresh. When aspects do become "stale" problems always creep in.

If you really want to know why its been slower ask those that have left or are taking a break. Get a better idea of why they left. I don't think the answer will truly present itself in this forum in a clear, full picture. It's difficult to express the true ramifications of action/ reaction if your not allowed to talk about anything that doesn't sound warm and cuddly. While we can all appreciate diplomacy. Sometimes its good to look at some of the harder facts as to why something isn't holding strong.
Whenever something like this is discussed that has positives and negatives to paint a clear picture. respect and diplomacy is needed. There is never a place for outright insults and degrading comments. That being said, ignoring some of the bigger reasons why something isn't flowing as nicely as it could is the opposite extreme to being too direct or aggressive.

My point in chiming in on this conversation albeit a little late. Is to at least highlight that fact that I think there are things that could be implemented to a make SNAIL more attractive to racers that drink the juice but don't like the after taste. Or to keep racers that decide they want to stick around only to grow frustrated by aspects there in.

Other then the excitement of a new game coming into play (GT sport). There must be some other ways to hold peoples interest longer then a couple weeks. Or to keep people who want to stay from leaving without notice due to increasing conflicts deemed unresolvable. In my view way too many people join and abruptly leave over sticking around. I think that in itself should be reason enough to improve on the existing recipe of SNAIL. SNAIL can't be a league just for the few that like each other and see eye to eye on all that currently exists (give or take a few minor details). It must be dynamic constantly adjusting to meet the criteria of all that are willing to give it a go with the right mindset. Not just force people to conform to one version of things. OR.....we can all be patient for GT sport and let the fun and transition of something new sustain us for a couple years before these inevitabilities resurface to haunt everyone once again.

I have my thoughts as to some idea's on how to accomplish some of this. Feel free to ask me.
