With how easy it is to stream on PS4, it would be a nice touch if people were able to broadcast/commentate some races. Lessen did it for PCARS/Pits and it was a lot of fun to watch. I think broadcasting on twitch/youtube would also be good exposure for SNAIL and help increase membership. (afterall thats how I found SNAIL, Msgt-Gunnys stream)

I think it was mentioned that lobbies now support 24 players, but we may only run 16 max so there would be room for a spectator/commentator.

Not to mention "in-car" streams would be great. It would be beneficial to people that may be struggling on a certain track and wondering where the fast guys are gaining time, without having to download any replays. Or just for entertainments sake theyd be fun to watch. I dont think Ive ever downloaded a replay outside of my division. But if someone were streaming it, it would be so much easier to watch and see how the action unfolded.

I was thinking about starting to stream for GT Sport, I know @gtr3123 does already and I think he mentioned he'd like to come back to SNAIL for GT Sport when I asked him about it. :) I just need to uh, clean up this room and get a good camera for overlay lol.

Exo! Is that really you or is your ghost haunting this thread?

Kidding aside, it's really great to hear from you. I hope things are better with the personal stuff you were going through.

It is really me in the (digital) flesh! After a full frame off resto on my old life, things are going exceptionally well! Life6.0 is very peaceful and as I continue to improve things, it is time to get behind the wheel again and enjoy the company of some of the best people I have ever met. I am really looking forward to sharing the track once more!

Reminds me of when the Nurburgring GP opened. From the Wiki:

To celebrate its opening, an exhibition race was held, on 12 May, featuring an array of notable drivers. Driving identical Mercedes 190E 2.3–16's, the line-up was Elio de Angelis, Jack Brabham (Formula 1 World Champion 1959, 1960, 1966), Phil Hill (1961), Denis Hulme (1967), James Hunt (1976), Alan Jones (1980), Jacques Laffite, Niki Lauda (1975, 1977)*, Stirling Moss, Alain Prost*, Carlos Reutemann, Keke Rosberg (1982), Jody Scheckter (1979), Ayrton Senna*, John Surtees (1964) and John Watson. Senna won ahead of Lauda, Reutemann, Rosberg, Watson, Hulme and Jody Scheckter, being the only one to resist Lauda's overwhelming performance who – having missed the qualifying – had to start from the last row and overtook all the others except Senna.[5][6]

The asterisk ( * ) in the previous paragraph indicate that titles which were not yet won at the time of the race are not mentioned here, so there were nine former and two future Formula 1 World Champions competing, in a field of 20 cars with 16 Formula 1 drivers; the other four were local drivers: Klaus Ludwig, Manfred Schurti, Udo Schütz and Hans Herrmann.

I found this spreadsheet of car data from the beta. http://www.designphreak.com/gtsport/
@JLBowler can we prechoose the cars for he first week ahead of time so people know what to buy or how much they need to save to run all 3 combos?

Also if anyone has questions about streaming, I’ve done it for 9 years so feel free to ask me.
Hope we can Print that list/spreadsheet.

How about make it true veterans? Say... at least 4 years and 2 months... :mischievous:
So as of Aug 2013? How many divisions were there back then? 4 or 5? How many of those guys are still involved in GTPlanet racing? Would be neat to see how many still e-drive just not necessarily with GT6...since the PS3 got outdated a few years ago.

Yep, 5 divisions. A few drivers that month have just recently posted interest in rejoining too.

On gt6? Does membership also require being active the whole time, or does popping in on the occasion count?

I say leave it pretty open. I mean, you gotta let the boss in 👍 @zer05ive

I see several people that I think are still active from then after checking the archive results:
nmcp, nic-kl, ice-warden, bowler, onespace, schmiggz, rally, Oshawa, handlebar, sand...didn't recognize a lot of those from the aug 2013 results but these stood out as still posting and racing.

The drivers list has been updated and is ready for tonight's racing.

As for the old-timer's race. It was really just a suggestion made in passing. I do like some of the suggestions made about it but it is highly unlikely that there will be enough time to put something together and run it between GT6 and GTS. Aside from that, we already have a method for choosing the frist combos in GTS. We won't have any idea if there will be a credit cap for cars as that is a decision that has to be made once we have the game in hand and are more familiar with the in game economy. We also won't know if all of the tracks will be available for selection. Once again, we will need to get a full look at them and see if any present any issues. We will also be verifying that our format will work or if it will need to be tweaked. It's going to be a very busy week and a half so stay tuned.

The SNAIL Sunday Scoring sheets have been prepared and is ready to go for tonight.

Race clean and hard tonight - it's the last races in GT6. Let's give it a nice farewell. You all have to agree it fitted our formula well. Let's hope GTSport can do the same for us.

I'm might be out of place to comment since I don't even have the game, but BoP typically balances things like horsepower, curb weight, displacement, forced induction etc. Setup stuff like spring rates, dampening, gearing, suspension geometry may likely be outside of any balancing the game could employ to even the field. As @MSgtGunny stated, that would be far from spec racing.

Is there not a no-tuning option? Pardon my ignorance.

From what i read on a couple forums, the tuning prohibited option did not exist in the demo. Hopefully in the full game the same settings in GT6 for online lobbies also was carried over to GTS.
