I feel the truth is somewhere in the middle of both of the previous two posts.

Taking away communities was absolutely intentional and there certainly must be a reason behind it.

It's hard to think they are not at least attempting to steer the boat toward the FIA sanctioned eRacing events.

My view is this, with the drastic change to what GT Sport is compared to GT 6. Perhaps limiting what is and can be done in lobbies for now is to keep from segregating the population until they have a firm grasp of the size of the user base. I could be way off the mark, but I think if something is consciously being done in the manner that has been suggested it's only precautionary.

Winter is coming... it was such a nice day outside I took the Beemer for a spin through the countryside

It could very well be just technical limitations due to the big picture goal. I dunno, but either way it kinda sucks for leagues trying to run professional level events. Maybe as an "insider", the communities feature wasn't as widely utilized as we may assume?

One of the first server notifications on 10/9 stated that "Community features that can be used in-game in Gran Turismo Sport may take some time for the content to be implemented."

My guess it's on the table for future release.

If I could compare GT Sport to Counter-Strike, the latter got ranked matchmaking and kept all it's community features and still has a massive player base and full ranked matchmaking servers... So hopefully Kaz brings back our community features.

For anyone interested in onboard videos, check the video out I just put together. It is from Brainerd International Raceway where I instruct at PDS. I've added a little bit of text commentary so you don't get bored watching it. See if you can spot a familiar decal! ;)👍👍

That is awesome! Is that your daily driver?

Just going to throw out a public service announcement. Each division has 12 or 13 drivers this week. This is more than a "party chat" can hold. All communication by the host, DM, or scorekeeper must be done via text chat in game. Having two chats open to disseminate official information is not acceptable as the information given to drivers could be different between the two chat rooms. This is asking for confusion and delays and is not acceptable.

Drivers. If you see the host, DM, or scorekeeper start to type instructions, stop anything you are typing unless it's that you can't see the correct number of drivers on track. Nothing else is important at that time. You can tell someone they ran a good race later. Pay attention to where you qualified and where you finished a race. In the event of a manual grid, if the drivers know where they are supposed to be, it can speed up that process.

Hosts, DMs, and scorekeepers. Make sure you know the processes that we have in place for GTS and keep the night moving. Make sure you record qualifying order and race finish order and be ready to set a manual grid if necessary. Doing this will help get us through any rough spots that may pop up.

All. In the event that your room has to be re-opened, use the divisional thread to post any updates to that process. Know who the back up host is and if you are the back up host, be ready to open a room if necessary. The DM can make the call when it's time for the back up host. Nobody else in the room should open a room unless specifically instructed to by the DM. If the DM is the back up host, he should post in the divisional conversation that he is opening a room.

Finally. Review the qualifying procedure for tonight. It's linked right here. The penalty for not following this procedure is pretty hefty so make sure you know what you are supposed to do.

Hey Happy Birthday bud! I was hoping to race with you tonight, now that I’m in Div 4, but I’ll catch you next week. Enjoy the evening and stay safe!

Hey guys,

Its my birthday today, so heading out for dinner and movies. I won't be able to make it in for the racing tonight. Good luck all and have fun! Was looking forward to race with ya @TEX36 and @Wolfsatz, but will have to wait bit till next week.

Cheers fellas!

Happy Birthday !!! We'll save you a spot just in case!

Any one know how to force calibration of the G29 . I am having trouble with the wheel not recognizeing the input left or right.. it seems stuck on left.

Tried to create a room, it says loading then it drops me out to lobby again. No idea why...all settings are good. So apparently no hosting for me.

All hosts. There will not be an all clear given tonight. There are no rooms that have enough drivers assigned that would overflow a room. All hosts should start on time or as close to it due to random people joining the room. We are still not waiting for people who might show up. If they haven't been in the room by start time, go without them, they're late, they get to wait for the next race if they do show up instead of everybody waiting for them. If random people do join your room, do not spend a lot of time trying to ask them to leave or explain anything to them. If you feel you have to send a message (you don't have to), one message that says "private league race" will be plenty followed by a kick from the room.

If the host exits the track to go to the pits/lobby to kick someone. When you reneter the track start driving and when you complete about one third of the the lap you will pop back into your qually position
