Trying to get an idea of how to resurrect the Drivetrain Challenge. Due to the limited number of FF (and 4wd) cars in PCars I will have to modify the format a bit I think. Almost all the cars are FR and MR in this game ;)

Hey @JoeW :)

I can appreciate your plan to revive a popular old series and I'd be willing to bet that you'll get plenty of interest from these parts which is totally cool with me. The more opportunities these guys have to enjoy this title, the better. However, unless it will be a SNAIL sanctioned series, can you please open a new thread for the discussion? I'd appreciate it greatly bud. Thanks. 👍
 
Oh I won't be discussing it any further. Just prefacing why I wanted to know about all the cars. It's probably a pipe dream because I am only really good at picking combos and hosting rooms...not running a thread, scoring etc.

I REALLY wish your combo choice system was a little different because this series is really well run and I like the racing a lot. I still want to race here when the combos look fun ;)

I pulled an amazing third quali lap and it was me cards and mopar then mopar dropped back (assuming for some battles) excitement rose. I thought man I just gotta steal cards lines. Then he disco'ed and then I realized it was me and lobban up front. I had some slip ups but was able to keep it ahead of Mike till the rain hit hard and mopar caught up.

I meant to reply to this yesterday but it slipped my mind. Yes i did drop back to last for some battles since GTR had left.
As myself and several other's have said in the past, its no fun running away with it out front if your quicker then the others, then your just running by your self. I prefer (even if i cant catch back up to the front) to drop back and mix it up with everyone and it be a challenging race.
If GTR and myself did this during a race i think it would be very interesting instead of just him and i battling it out the whole race.

Thoughts GTR? Would make those live streams even sweeter!

I do remember mopar doing this almost every race. Which was nice. Gives us all that brief minute or two of excitement as we see them coming up from behind, a brief battle ensues, and then we drive over our head for a couple laps trying to stay with him :)

I agree with you Mopar. Mopar and I would jump into random race lobbies on GT5 & GT6, if we started up front we would drop to the back so we had to race hard but race smart to make our way through traffic. These races were more challenging and a lot more fun.

I realize it was just a random lobby and not a SNAILS race event.

A fun place to run in the front and have some good battles with @gtr3123 and @DaBomb330 is here in PSEC 👍

GTR, I think she asking if you have the Tuesday races on your YT. I know you posted the short clip of us at Wilow Springs, but I don't know if you do the 4 weekly races.
Or I could of mis-read it. @sharkie



By the way, I think last night's tutoring session went well, at firs 2 showed up, @Zii1993 and @Fallen_log , followed by swjackson. I believe we went for about an hour and 30 minutes before a few more came in, Flip, Filipino, (I forgot the others sorry).
I'd like your guys feedback on how it went if you don't mind. Maybe it'll convince others to join also.
I know Zii was running a 1:40.2xx and dropped it down to a 1:38.600 and swjackson went from a 1:44.xxx to a 1:42.xxx.

Which combo did you guys practice? And are the only line physics different than online? I know... Noob

I did manage some practice after work today and finally getting the hang of this.

We practiced for the PSEC series on Saturday's,honestly Joe I personally think the physics are a little different between in game and online but that's just my opinion and I could be wrong,just telling you how it feels to me

We were practicing on the PSEC combo. And in reply to that. I want to show the fruits of mopars help.

Is there a way online to simply get on track and run practice laps while guys come and go?

@Oshawa-Joe The public rooms can be a real pain. Yet at the time these rooms can be very beneficial to your (defensive) driving skills. A quick way to run some laps. Sometime you met some good clean racers.

Another way is as Joe said, make an online room. You have the option to make the room public or private.
 
I'm going to try some of this out tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully someone is around. I also need more practice with the T3PA pedals to get used to their very short throw.

Hey Joe, I'll be around to practice tomorrow, let me know when you get online. I've done enough for the day today. Formula A, C, LMP2 and GT3. That's enough, time for some booze.

I agree that the original drive train concept doesn't work on PCars because , as you mentioned, of a tremendous lack of car offer. You gotta twist that a bit.

The votes have been tallied with results shown below. The Ruf has been replaced by the Scion FR-S. Its first visit will be to Donington Park National.

Also, as a test I invite everybody who has been saving their replays to submit clip data using THIS form. I will make a Season 10 highlight video using several of these submissions. There is no limit of clip recommendations so feel free to submit as many as you'd like. :) The greater the selection, the better the video 👍

Yay, I'm in third.....so far. Racing in a room with GTR and Mopar makes third place look pretty good. And now we have a girl racing? A girl? Does this mean I have to watch my mouth and not make rude comments. Ya right.

Not to burst your bubble Mike, but @sharkie wont be racing with us yet, as she doesnt have a PS4 at this time. In the future tho she will, i know she wants one.

As for you being in third as of now, keep up the great work. I cant believe Card's got a Pole last week!! Awesome job man, i dont know how you did it!

When she gets on here and has enough practice in, i think GTR & myself will be fighting for 2nd :sly:
