Guys, first let me say that I really do enjoy racing with you and am very glad to see the series growing to what it is,but after last night and some deep thoughts,I think I am going to retire from the series,it was not to bad at first riding around in back of an 8 or 9 car field, but now riding in back of a 16 car field is well kind of embarrassing, you'd think after years of playing these sim games and all the money tied up in them I'd get better but I actually think I'm getting worse,I wish you guys and the series all the luck and maybe I'll be good enough one day to see you on track again

I think I was behind you every race :D. I'm not used to being at the back either. Keep at it and take up on the offers for some coaching. I'm getting the feeling the game physics are more realistic and challenging compared to what I'm used to., so just gotta keep at it and it will come together.

To be honest, I like running at the front and had my share of it in SNAIL D2, but last night was a lot of fun. I kept pushing myself trying to get out of last place. Gonna be back next week for sure.

I think everyone likes running in the front, fighting for the win. But racing against someone for P1 or for P15 is racing against someone.
I also feel like I'm getting worse, because of lack of practice and real life getting in the way, but I can't find another place to have some racing fun without wanting to kill another driver, so I keep coming back for SNAIL style racing. I hope we don't lose you, Jax. Keep coming and I'll keep you company at the back.

And I agree with Joe, PCars feels like driving a real car more than GT, there's no standing on the brakes coming into a corner (unless you're driving the Formula A, holy hell that thing stops fast...).

I really appreciate the support from you guys, after running in @Zii1993 's endurance series and last night the frustration just exploded,my wife thought I had lost my mind,I do enjoy racing but it's not that fun when I can't even keep up with the back of the pack,I a least want to feel like I'm racing somebody,I try to push hard and can't stay on track,I try the slow down to go fast thing, that don't work either,so I'm at a loss

Jax, I've seen you running some pretty quick laps before, you have it in you my man! But really, who cares where we are running in the long run, as long as we're having fun and racing with someone. I for one would hate to see you go, you are a class act, please stick around, our racing will be the better for it!

Yeah even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in a while

Interesting how the Ruf race T5 exit cones were non-existent the entire race from beginning to end but they are all there in the replay. :odd:

Well, the whole race group was on a cone murdering spree in the first lap.

From what I recall, they were never there to begin with. I've observed that any cones/brake markers that become displaced during qualifying remain displaced at the beginning of the race. Now in my race replay they are all there every lap, even though I can clearly see drivers (including myself) driving through them. They weren't actually there in live time. Weird.

They were there for me at the start of the race. That is weird.

Anyway, I am going to be on for a bit to see if it was stress or tiredness that caused me to leave yesterday.

Look I'm running top 5!!!! Been some lucky weeks for this guy 👍

@Lessen i can't and won't let you slip by me. I was watching a video of my resume for team championship in RCS that @brntguy made for me a year or so ago and I was so much better in gt6 it's crazy. And I was also a consistant top 5 driver in RCS but I also had ALOT of practice for that series and my strategies for putting were usually what got me my podiums.

I am also much slower and consistent than I was in GT6. On the flipside, this game is far more fun and engaging. We've had a very close first half of the season, tied both both weeks. Talk about neck and neck.. :)

@irmopars @Cardahs @gtr3123 and anyone else. I would love some of that training if you don't mind taking me under your wing. With the enduro series in place I need all the driver skill and consistency I can get.
The past couple weeks have really been luck and just staying in for all the races.

Let me know when your up for it, and car/track. I'm busyall SSaturday, and Sunday afternoon but free otherwise.

Jaxx, i know what you're feeling. Im a very competitive guy that gets over frustrated for not being faster.
You know what the problem is? We don't know HOW TO RACE DRIVE!
The solution? LEARN!
That's what i decided to do! Freaking learn! So I've been following this guy on Youtube that has really good vids explaining the little insignificant details that help you shave a second per lap.
They say you can't teach old dogs new tricks? NOT TRUE.

I am just the opposite, GT, no consistency where PCars, I seem to have found a connection with the realism. Nobody is more surprised than me.

I'm going out to Aeros place today with my T300 for him to try it on his system.

That's what you told him? Did you mention that you're bringing the results from this week on a frame for him to keep?
Rubbing it in live is always nice.
Poor Aero...

And that's one of the best things about the SNAIL Way. If you want to learn, faster people will help you.

Could we make an official practice night for this series? I learned quite a bit doing that in the main Sunday series...

This stuff is awesome guys, maybe I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and at least start having fun again, thanks for all the help
Now I am far from an expert on consistency but I do know how to go fast when I put my mind to it. I was D1 waaay back in the day and D2 with Oshawa for a little while until my practice time went to nil...like it is to this very day ;)

The biggest thing for me when coming from GT6 to PCars is being more gentle with inputs. With GT6 you could pretty much mash the brakes, mash the throttle and yank the steering wheel and still be fairly quick.

With PCars you really need to depress the throttle with control and smoothness. You don't always need to go to the floor. You also don't need to be in the gear where maximum revs are obtained. Smoother, slower throttle inputs and sometimes a higher gear will make the car go faster in a more controlled manner. Same with the brakes. Don't just smash the pedal. Slowly depress the brakes...and don't press it all the way. Max brake force before aids/lockups occur are usually quite a bit before the pedal is all the way down. And plan your brake points better. Brake smoothly and controllably to your turn in instead of waiting until that last 2ft to hammer the brake pedal.

PCars is more like a real car. Be more gentle and smooth with inputs and you will be surprised.

I let some fat old slow guy with stinky feet try and show me how to go faster in the Ruff today, it didn't work!

K, I'll be serious for a bit!

Mike brought his T300 over so I could try it out and we used my G27 pedals. Chose the Ruff and there was a noticeable difference in car control ability. I could catch and control oversteer with the T300 in places where I couldn't with the G27. T300 is much smoother and quieter wheel, however, I like the G27 better for feeling the bumps and curbs. It's hard to tell if it's the emulator that is making the difference in controlability or if it's just the wheel. Would really like to try a G29 to see what it's like. I then took a fav car to a fav track and tried the difference, again, car control seemed to be better with the T300 but not as big a difference as when driving the Ruff.
Mike tried the G27 with the Ruff and agreed with my opinion's. Looks like there might be a wheel upgrade in the near future.

My conclusions: definitely the wheel that has made Lobban quicker, or maybe I should just start medicating!
