Well the combo looks nice. I'd love a series like this that keeps the same car for a few weeks in a row, like the Race Car Series of old.

You have been miss informed. The cars are subject to weekly change. Here is the process.

Weekly Combo Selection Process:

Car selection structure:
  • Each week, four cars will be offered to be voted upon to replace one of the two currently raced cars.
  • Each eligible driver may vote to drop either current car #1 or current car #2, and replace with one of two available and applicable options.
    • drop Current Car #1
      • replace with Option A or Option B
        • or
    • drop Current Car #2
      • replace with Option C or Option D
  • If a single car is raced over the course of 4 consecutive race nights without being dropped, it shall be subject to a mandatory drop.
    • All eligible drivers may vote for its replacement according to standard procedures
    • All eligible drivers may also vote to drop and replace the other car in the lineup if they so choose
    • This shall be the only circumstance that a driver may submit more than 1 vote
Track selection structure:
  • Each of the four cars offered up for vote will be accompanied by six racetracks. These tracks may differ between new car options.
  • Each eligible voting driver shall rank (and therefore vote) ONLY 4 of the six available tracks assigned to their chosen replacement car. Drivers may rank these six tracks according to their personal preference, with a "4" being given to the drivers' most preferred track and a "1" being assigned to the drivers' least preferred track. Also, the two remaining un-ranked tracks shall each be assigned a "No Vote A" or "No Vote B".

I know... You read my post wrong.

I'd like a series like this racing format but keeps the car the same for longer periods of time.

But that's the thing the caddy we just drove last week is gone already. 1 week of caddy rain spins and done. Not long at all. The other car hasn't been here long either.

Guys, DP is saying he WANTS a car to stick around for a bit.

And the Caddy has not been dropped. The RUF is gone after two weeks of racing.

Every so often a "special" car may stick around longer, as many as 4 weeks.

I'm not good at managing and communicating for a series, but I'd love to set one up if someone else would be willing to take those roles. Same idea, spec one-make racing with no tuning but one car for several weeks at a time. Something like 45 or 50 minute races. Something between this series and the PSEC.

Just my 2-cents:

Options (speaking of series') are good to have because they can actually help each other prosper, especially when the organizers are chasing a common goal. However, too many "in-between" options can actually hurt all involved series' if there are not enough dissimilarities. The "market" can become flooded with similar product if there are not enough buyers, thereby lessening the value of all.

I'm all about supporting more PCARS series', but there needs to be enough significant differences between them or they will all become stale.

Yes, but the two right now are 20/30 and 90. That's a huge gap. I'm not willing to sit down for 90 minutes at a time, but 30 minutes is not enough of an endurance challenge. I'm sure there are many people with the same opinion. 50 minutes with pit stops would be a good compromise. Being on a different night is also good too, right?

Truly enjoying Pcars even if I am a few seconds off pace. Tried out a few of the online settings and it's making more sense now. The new combo is also very good, so looking forward to Tuesday.

Question about apps. Which one should I try and does it make a difference on Android vs PC. What is easiest to set up and use. I should have my old headset working this weekend once I pick up the required talk back cable for my wireless headset :odd:.

Not to burst your bubble Mike, but @sharkie wont be racing with us yet, as she doesnt have a PS4 at this time. In the future tho she will, i know she wants one.

As for you being in third as of now, keep up the great work. I cant believe Card's got a Pole last week!! Awesome job man, i dont know how you did it!

When she gets on here and has enough practice in, i think GTR & myself will be fighting for 2nd :sly:

Keep the practice going, be prepared and know what to expect only then 1st place will come into play. I'm going to be honest I get super lazy to practice because I get tired from work, I just lay in bed and pass out... Time to shift gears and try different things :gtpflag::cheers::bowdown::gtplanet:;)

@Oshawa-Joe these are two I actively use.

Crew chief is voice only, used thru PC, beleive it may have an android app now. spotter app. A must have, the in game eng. is a joke.

Also use, http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?33388-pCars-Dash-Second-screen-telemetry-app

Great little app, plenty of info. I use this one on my phone and tablet at same time just different screens.

Another option for PC would be

I have used this one in the past on PC. All are very easy to set up.

A question to the group: Do you turn the cockpit driver off or leave it on?

You mean the hands? I leave it on. Since I'm a ds4 user it sometimes helps me to see the wheel input since I cannot feel it very well. Unlike the brake, it is often difficult to tell when using too much.

Actually it's 15/20 and 90 right now.
Why don't you just wait and try out the night first before coming on here and starting to suggest changes to the series immediately. You might just find that the four races can easily tire you out!

Rules for DesertChickens entry into the league.
1- Don't be a goomer
2- No quiting mid race.
3- don't bug with questions about what shade of black is best. No one cares.
4- don't make suggestions before you have even raced.
5-when in doubt, always refer to rule number one .

I should think after all this time practicing with your new wheel, you would have been in here sooner. I hope you enjoy the league and the league enjoys you. As soon as you beat me in a race I will stop the chicken stuff. Lol.

What the heck is a goomer???!

Goomer: GOO-mer AKA, a noob, a nob, a boob, a twit, a nit, a nat or a DesertChicken.

Must be a Canadian thing, eh?

I hope DP and you all know that my beating up on him is just for fun. As I have said in the past, i am a bully and it amuses me. I for one have always enjoyed racing with him especially in the Pack racing room. Not that I expect to see him on the track, 'cause I am number 3 and he's a rook.

I wonder which wheel Aeros gonna get?
It was funny the other day to see the huge difference in driving styles between Steve and myself. He uses smooth inputs and is very sensitive on the wheel where I beat the crap out of it. I was bending his wheel platform see sawing through corners, which he says he has never done. I think my SUPERIOR speed, lol, comes from throttle and gearing, as little real foot braking as possible. Just a quick drop into a lower gear for a second gives that tiny bit of engine brake that can save you into an overshot corner. I very seldom come completely off of my go pedal either. Just staying on the track consistently is the difference for me and GT. I was fast over there but had difficulty with the physics of the game. I would drop a wheel and go from 1st to 8 th all the time. This game allows little mistakes like that which is good for me.

Laps later???
